Hi all.
A new Jaguar XKR (X100) owner here. Have been a long time owner of a Jaguar XJ Sovereign (well, only 7 years, but with an old XJ Sovereign that felt like a VERY long time...).
The new car is a late 2004 model in midnight blue with cream interior. Only 42,000 on the clock and one previous owner (my father - though cheap b*****d he did insist on me paying current market rate!).
Has only been driven once a month for last 5 years or so, and sat on a fairly damp driveway during this time. Bodywork and footwells etc. are all good, but it does have a few niggles. Was last serviced at 38,000 miles, but this was back in 2017, so have booked it in for a major service (before the recommended 49,000 one).
It does have some niggles. Have cured most of the electrical bugs with a new battery, but key points I welcome your thoughts on are:
DSC warning light comes on pretty much every drive after 5/10 minutes. Normally when accelerating hard. Comes on regardless whether have turned off or not on the dash.
I can hear some knocks coming from the rear of the car which are audible when driving at low speed. Nothing showing on the MOT (Feb 2023), but suspect could be worn anti-roll-bar drop-links and/or mounting bushes.
Appreciate this may not be the most active forum given the number of cars around, but welcome your thoughts on the above and what I should be saying to garage for the upcoming service. Also should I be preparing myself for anything particularly nasty with the above!
Thanks, NP
