  1. Apparently 12.3 ~ 12.4 vote is considered by some in the know to be undercharged and an indication the battery may be on the way out. I've had the problem on my car a few times with no sign of any other problems - then some 3 ~ 4 months later the battery had insufficeint power to start the car. Personally, I'd tolerate the problem until starting becomes a problem - OK if your not totally dependent on the Jag for your transport. One thing to consider though is that cold weather is not too far away - and that should expose any battery weakness. Having said all of that - it could be a door module on the way out - if you have a warranty it would be worth getting GS to sort it. Hope this helps. PS - if you do decide to change the battery, I'm told an AGM type is the best you can get at present.
  2. Hi Graham, I sometimes get this problem if the car has not been used for a while. XK family is very repeat very sensitive to voltage. I'd try checking the battery output voltage. If its down there are a few fixes like new battery, CTEK trickle charger etc but I'd start with the output voltage. Do you know how old the battery is ??
  3. Excellent result Graham - really glad it all worked out and free as well. Little surprised that GS knew nothing about the fix but at least they got it done FOC. John
  4. Hi Graham, Have checked and the Tech Bulletin number is definitely JTB00088. Found this on TOPIX - the Jaguar document site. Hope this helps. John Document details Title JTB00088 - Vibration Through Pedal Box or Floor Between 1200rpm and 1300rpm Global reference JTB00088 Navigation path Bulletins Technical Bulletins 309 - Exhaust System Publication date 28-May-2010 16:15:57
  5. The X150 had a resonance problem in the exhaust system which affected some but not all cars. A vibration could be felt through the foot pedals. Jaguar revised the mounting system which involves a revised clamp system - the cost from Jaguar is expensive for what you get which amounts to a couple of different clamps. Your dealer should be able to call up a Jaguar Tech Bulletin which covers this subject and the approved fix. Not sure if your year was affected but I'd push the dealer to check. I believe the bulletin number is JTB00088
  6. Access to the drain is extremely difficult. The drain is hidden under the dashboard at a position on the transmission tunnel which is just behind the touch screen. It drains excess water from the air-con at a position directly above the gearbox in the transmission tunnel. It is not possible to directly see it from above or below the car. i would first check for wet carpets in the passenger footwell - this is where the problem first appears. The Jaguar fix for this problem involves removing the dash and the air-con assembly to replace the drain - there are various other fixes that have varying levels of success. If you need further info, I have a number of documents I can forward to you but I'll need to work out how to add them to the forum. Hope this helps
  7. The wet foot wells etc are down to a blocked drain and does not affect the temperature output of the air con. Sounds like the system needs re-gassing. A good re-gas will check the system for leaks, clean it then re-gas it with the appropriate level of additives. Make sure when its re-gassed that there are no leaks in the system - the operator/garage should be able to confirm.
  8. Congratulations - I'm sure you will enjoy
  9. One thing to make sure of is that there is no water leaking into the passenger footwell from a blocked air con drain. The official fix of this job is complete removal of the dash only to change a "duck bill" type drain tube. The replacement tube is pennies but the manhours make the job very expensive. My 2007 XK has suffered this problem on and off since I've had it - approx 3 years. Have a look at this thread to get some idea of what's involved. http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk-xkr-33/ac-water-leak-fix-faq-resolved-73085/ Having said all of that - I love my XK and would buy another - just make sure the air con drain doesn't leak !!!!
  10. Many thanks Charlie
  11. Recently joined Premium Membership and received my Halfords discount card and T shirt. Documentation with Halfords card states I may need to present my JOC membership card - this I do not have. How do I go about getting a membership card.
  12. MY2012 have adaptive lights as you say and therefore don't need any converters at all ;) 2006 to 2012 X150s have adjusting levers. Pre 2006 X100s need beam converters stuck the light lens exterior.
  13. If your XK is a X150 i.e. the latest alloy body version - then yes, the headlamps can be adjusted be levers in the headlights themselves. have a look at the Owners Handbook Page 63.
  14. Try Adamesh - they've just added some carbon fibre covers for the early X150s
