  1. Happy Birthday Top boy!

  2. @Dan_v6_se Hi dude. I think everyone has different tastes and if you like something then no one else's opinion matters! :-) but me personally if I had your version I wouldn't spray them black as I hate the chrome bits with a passion and it would still draw attention to them. I would get them colour coded so it all blends in and buy the mesh bonnet grill with the silver jaguar for your bonnet. As for the black alloys they could really set the car off and look great if you get the right ones. If you like the ones you already have maybe have them refurbed and done in black. A much cheaper option. I've rushed into having bits done on cars I've owned before and well regretted it as its ended up lookin crap!! But as I said that's only my opinion and everyone's taste is different :-)
  3. @ tony buon- well worth the money mate saves the cost of jaguar doing it!! I just recently had to take mine to jag for a scan before I decided to by one as my abs light came on. They said it was my near side rear abs sensor was broken and the off side was on the way out. I took it to my mechanic and he replaced both the sensors. The light remained on. Reset the light with the scanner and as I drove down the road it came back on. I drove straight to jag and told them I replaced everything on the report they had given me and the light remained. They plugged it back in for free this time and now tell me the fault is being caused by the original near side rear sensor but this time the abs module or faulty wiring. I just got back from holiday today and have left my car with my mechanic. I'm going to collect it in the morning hoping the issue is now resolved. But it goes to show you pay all that money for jaguar to full scan to find the issue and they can still mess it up. It's driving me mad at the moment. @ Steve 341 after still currently tryi g to get to the bottom of the same issue it could be a sensor, one of the reluctor rings ( the sensor reads the grooves off this ring. Not an expensive part ) or faulty wiring or module.
  4. Hi, How you doing Ross. As for problem no 3 I'd imagine you need new brake pads and or discs. For problem no 4 it sounds to me like you need a new drop link or possible lay wish bone. More likely to be the drop link. You buy these as a pair which should only cost about £40 and an hours labour to fit. If the wish nine the part will be double that and the same amount of time to fit. Its nothing major to worry about its nearly a 13 year old car you need to remember. When I first got my x type on a 52 plate it was mint condition but had a few sensors go and a drop link don't be did heartened once you fix these small issues you shouldn't get any for a while. Problem no 2 could be blown speakers but replacements are readily available for pennys really from lots of outlets and straight forward to replace. As for your front door not locking when you take it to a garage for breaks or drop link get them to check it out :-) hope that some of that might of helped dude
  5. I am 29 and have always loved jags since I was a kid. All my mates have always took the Micky saying that jags are old mans cars but I disagree. I bought my 1st jag when I was 25. It was a 3 litre V6 s type. It was a silver manual with black leather interior and it was by far one of the best cars I have ever owned. All my friends took the Micky but they never complained about getting in it and all ended up loving it. I've had alls sought of cars before there an addiction but there is just something about the way a jag makes you feel when your at the wheel. I felt the need to get another jag recently and bought a 2002 x type. Its the 2.5 V6 sport in jaguar racing green with full immaculate cream leather. It came with full main dealer history with 2 owners and 97000 miles on the clock with new breaks, tyres and 9 months mot. And for all this payed £1740 from a dealer. Now you tell me what else you would get for that sought of money that would get anywhere near the pedigree or quality. Got to love a jaguar. Think I'm just going to stick with them from now on!!!
  6. 2.5 v6 sport, jaguar racing green Hi slightly veering off the subject but I got fed up off jaguar charging a shed load just to plug mine in if I had an issue. My friend suggested looking on eBay for a diagnostic scanner so I could plug it in myself. For about £40-45 you will get a pretty sensible one that will tell you any issues you have or any pending issues. It will also reset the codes and engine management light etc. one of the moves I made buying one of them them as gives you some knowledge before you go to a garage of the issue you have. Plus the part you are looking for is about £65 on eBay brand new from a motor supplier. Hope you get it soughted easy enough.
