Hi, Have now identified the problem. Disconnected the arm from the actuator and movement was very limited despite putting the car in garage for professional cleaning of turbo.!! Worked the arm backwards and fwds and managed to free it off,obviously there was still some crud in the turbo! Now working fine but need to clean turbo properly. Read on forum that someone injected Mr muscle into turbo and that did the trick. My only concern is that given the powerful effect of Mr muscle could it do any damage internally to the turbo. Any thoughts??

I have a problem with the gloplug light coming on if I accelerate hard.the car goes into limp mode until I switch engine off and restart. Have the turbo cleaned out and injectors cleaned and full service. Problem still persists. for normal driving car runs like a sewing machine and acceleration is not a problem,unless . I tread on the pedal. If car is stationary can rev it round the clock but light does not come on so can't understand why it only comes on when under heavy load. Any ideas would be much appreciated

Thanks for the info , wiped the disc and it works fine!! Do you happen to know if I can get an up to date disc, the one I have is 2009. Is it possible to update the existing disc? Thanks again for your help

Have exactly the same prob with front passenger window on my X type.have been reading all the comments on this problem but no one seems to know why it happens.pressing the button 8 times makes it work but in small movements.what on earth is that all about. The fact that so many cars have this problem should be of interest to jaguar,why the silence?

The sat navigation in my 2008 X type is not working? Screen works fine on all apps but when I put sat nav disc in boot it says load sat nav disc so seems it doesn't recognise that disc has been input. Is the problem with the reading mechanism? Have tried putting disc in CD on dash and gets same result although plays cds no problem. Any ideas please?

Have a 2008 2ltr diesel X type and the glo plug light has started to come on if I accelerate hard.If I stop the engine and restart light goes out and stays out for normal driving.i had planned to take it to the garage for diagnosis but can't get the light to come on again when accelerating hard which obviously needs to happen for resolving. Am waiting for problem to reoccure,car drives very well when no light showing. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a remedy.am hoping it is just a sensor malfunction.

On my X type diesel the glo plug light comes on intermittently when I accelerate hard. Driving normaly no problem and light always goes off if I restart engine. Any explanation great fully accepted

Have just purchased a 2008 2ltr diesel x type and runs beautifully apart from when I accelerate heavily black smoke from exhaust .Normal runnng no smoke at all and passed emission test for mot 3 days ago. Can anyone advise likely problem please.
