  4. Hi Ray you don't allways get a warning light my car run really badly and stalled a lot so have a good check of the EGR hoses for splits or may have come loose see my post about the hose clip problem.best wishes
  5. Hi one headlight too low adjuster's not working so failed MOT so orderd from EBay new lifetime black parts for £9.99 undue bumper under wheel arch cover two ten mill bolts removed light it's hard to undue the stupid wiring connector, then hubby used a heat gun on the glue on the edge of lens or you can warm it on top of the stove, with the lens off you can see the broken parts that need replacing easy but don't remove the old glue reheat and then press it all back in place refit back to car fit all bolts back and front wheels adjust lights.as required job done you have a cheap fix happy motoring
  6. Hi there phildog I had a intermittent rear parking sensor fault it only worked if you held the gear leaver in reverse and it was just the switch on the gearbox for the reversing lights that also power up the rear parking sensors,I got a new switch on eBay for a ten pounds and it now works fine. I think that your heating problem is the control valve not opening ? Why not get your self a inferred thermometer about £ 15.00 and you can check out the temperature of all pipe work and see we're the heat stops.
  7. Hi there peter I had a lot of trouble with the nuts like you as the locking socket is very weak so I scraped it and replaced them with new normal nuts (not too expensive from jag) you have to use a good fitting hex type socket as they seize up if the wheels have not been off for a long time as you say copper grease is a must. best of luck
  8. Hi just to say that the hose and clip can be checked by looking through the front bottom grill with access by removal of the small front lower panel which is held on with a few torque screws then the old clip replaced and you can push the hose back on with a flat bar or tyre lever up from below it's best to raise the car on that side for better access,it's worth a check I hope this helps.
  9. Hi my X had rough running was jerking misfiring with black smoke and engine sometimes stalling I had cleaned my EGR and manifold so checked pipe work and found the clip on intercooler had rusted and snapped with the pipe blown off so fit back with new clip engine now running great ( I think that the clip rusts so bad as it is touching the sponge under the intercooler that was wet through but it did take ten years)
  10. Hi there I have just cleaned my EGR valve and I tested it with a hand vac pump and it makes a similar sound when it shuts it has made me think can you have intermittent fault that is making it open and shut a lot ? Try to disable it and see if it helps I think it's worth a go.
  11. Hi Phil if the lamps are working ok have the front lenses clouded over a bit you can re- polish them with toothpaste to bring back to new Have a check on the adjustment as some time they have broken and you don't get all the light you should have all the best CW

  13. Had my x type for 12 months but I am finding it very uncomfortable to drive. It seems like the peddle is too high is there any way to lower it Any one got any ideas
  14. Looks like your bonnet cable has snapped on one side, this happened to us . You have to jack it up and get underneath with a long stick and a torch to move the catch lever. We found it better when we looked at another jag to see how it moved
