  1. This is just to conclude this in case anyone is interested. I asked the Jaguar mechanic who performed the latest service and he was able to remove the bolt by hand and it was his opinion that it was an error from the factory. The bolt is a seatbelt bolt but all seatbelt bolts were where they should be so he believed that this would have been dropped inside the bodywork and it just eventually made it's way to the hole in the ceiling of the boot. It wasn't something that he had seen before.
  2. Thanks Jon. I've just messaged you with my email address.
  3. Hi Jon, Thanks for taking the time to do this. Unfortunately I can't actually view that image though for some reason. I completely agree regarding the exposed metal in the boot, it doesn't seem in keeping with the rest of the car at all. The bolt is completely loose - I can even remove it by wiggling it free of the hole as it just hangs there, not attached to anything. Thanks, Paul.
  4. Hi, I've just bought a 2018 Jaguar XF from a private seller and I've noticed a loose bolt hanging down from the left side of the ceiling of the boot. Would anyone be able to advise as to what it might be for and how it should be attached?
