  1. Hi Steve, I'm also relatively new to the forum having purchased an XK8 7 months ago. Look out for what is called the 'waist trim' which I believe is on the XK as well as the XK8. These trims are on the top of doors. These alloy trims corrode and blister, and can be refurbished if not too bad, but are not a part currently in production. Good luck with your search, they are a cracking motor!
  2. Seems a low valuation. I bought a 2000 registered XK8 4.0l 6 months ago. 35k on the clock, very good condition, paid £11k.
  3. Nice one Ian! This is my XK8. I've only had her for about 3 months. Endless grin!!
  4. Hi Matt, I bought my XK8 through SM Autos. The guy there, Sean, was honest and easy to deal with. They are a small 'trader' dealing with a limited stock. Depending on where you live, might be worth considering. Take a look at their website. Pete
  5. Hi Aubrey, I've purchased a ticket, and plan to bring my recently acquired XK8. Couple of questions, are dogs allowed, I have one very docile Greyhound. Does entry for everyone start at 10am. Am I OK to have a collection tin in the car for Children's Hospice South West charity, if anyone passing feels like popping in a donation. Thanks in anticipation Pete
  6. I've spoken with Dave at DCR, sounds a nice guy. Looks like he could have a solution for me in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your help! Pete
  7. Thanks very much for the reply N6! My initial searches were leading me to this conclusion 😒. I will contact DCR. There's also a company called Euro Jag 01325 722777 who are calling me back with a possible second hand option. Really appreciate you taking the time.
  8. Hi all, I'm sure this has probably come up before! I recently purchased a 2000 registered XK8 coupe which is in really good condition with only 35k on the clock, but the waist trims on the top of the doors are being lifted by corrosion. Not sure if this is the result of the doors corroding or the strips? Initial search seems to indicate these grey coloured strips aren't available, and replacements seem to be rubber. Anybody with experience of this situation who could advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Pete
