  2. You could say that for sure 😂 mind you given the job I’m glad it happened now and not when we’re away somewhere.
  3. So thanks for having me here, I’ve had a 2013 3.0d about a year now and bar tyres and brakes / discs it been really a great car. so mot booked for Monday morning , I changed the rear shocks as knew I needed to change them on Sunday, Monday mid morning passed mot with no advisories so well chuffed then went to collect it and in the half mile home there was smoke and squeeling and ping the alternator belt snapped, got it parked and the garage popped round with a belt so changed that and something wasn’t right so off it came and found the alternator seized solid , ordered parts with next day delivery and sorted a lift to work. started stripping the whole load of pipes etc to gain access to the alternator mmmm there were a few bad words muttered ( sorry) tuesday my wife called there’s parts here ! So home and no supper , alternator in and started rebuilding it all up. wednesday night it’s all back together and coolant added run up to temp and a wee run was at 10mph !!!! After some head scratching realised I hadn’t connected the wee vacuum pipe to the airbox, much better so a road test out the village saw the red RP warning ??? Mate arrived and as darkness came we discovered the o/s turbo intake pipe was off. Thursday dumped the new coolant , and stripped the front again and after a great amount of cursing blood skinned knuckles we got the pipe back on and bolted up, rebuilt the front end refilled the coolant and cleared the codes . a test drive and I’ve got my car back with full performance back and no ( for now ) RP warning tonight coming home the brake pad warning light came on , now I e not long done the brakes so a check showed a broken lead to the front sensor, new one ordered and hopefully that will be me all up to date. mind you as I sit here with a wee dram and skinned knuckles I still love the car but please not another week like this……..
