Good Afternoon.
My (step)father passed away suddenly about 18 months ago and I have been asked by mother to find homes for some of his various cars.
First to go is the pictured Jaguar XJ8.
Believe it is a 4 litre V8 X308, but am happy to be corrected on that!
It is in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, near Avoncroft Museum of Buildings, which can be found online easily.
The car runs and drives but has no MOT, though it has been MOT'd previously.
It appears structurally good and as can be seen in the pictures, the paintwork needs attention, possibly a complete repaint to make it look perfect, but that was never a concern to the old fella.
As a non-expert it looks to me that it is largely the lacquer peeling off on the bonnet and roof, although other areas are affected, but less badly.
Nearside rear lens is cracked on the reverse light section, rear bumper is cracked in centre but secure.
The interior headlining was hanging down and has been stapled in place.
There are traction control and stability control warning messages shown on the dash display.
The photos show it as is, taken this morning.
It is not perfect by any means but presents as potentially repairable to me as a non-mechanic...
I have no idea of it's value.
My mother's primary concern is for it to go to someone who to whom it will be considered valuable or useful not to make money from it.
Only condition is that the whole car is taken. Please do not ask if it is being broken or for parts; she is a 71 year old widow with no mechanical experience, and just needs the space!
Therefore initial asking price is £1000: But any sensible offers will be given due consideration.
I am awaiting confirmation from site admin as to whether it is OK to post a mobile number for interested parties, but in the meantime, please PM me via the group and I can give you a contact number.
More photos available if wanted or contact me via board PM with any specific questions and I will do my best.
Thanks
