  1. My husband wanted a V8 but budget restrictions meant he purchased a 1999 S type SE 3 litre V6 in December 2021, with 59060 miles on the clock. It had three previous owners, with the third keeping it for a long time - he had bought it in 2003. It's MOT history was very good with only minor things, so it seemed he kept it very well. It's now up to 68,000 miles. We have motorbikes, so sometimes the car is not used for several weeks at a time, but it does sometimes do some long journeys towing my grass track sidecar to race meetings. It came with a problem of intermittent draining the battery and my husband tried a few things. He concluded that may be the computer stays live. It is meant to give you half hour then shut off. It trashed a couple of batteries before he had the idea of fitting a Richbrook battery isolator like rally cars have. For going shopping, etc, the battery lasts, but for overnight, we use the isolator. I never lock it as I don't trust the locking system, but luckily we live in rural Wales so do not worry about leaving it unlocked in supermarket car parks, etc. The heater and air conditioning stopped working last winter, although very occasionally you do get a bit of warm air. Hopefully the maintenance man will have a bit of time to have a look and order the parts soon. I looked up Jaguar S Type SE V6 Auto in How Many Are Left, and the most recent quarter shows 181 taxed and 43 SORNd. https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/jaguar_s-type_se_v6_auto Marianne
