Thanks, everybody, for your input. Battery was checked, tested and replaced a couple of years ago - sounds like it's time to check it again! Goes into garage tomorrow - watch this space.

My car battery drains surprisingly quickly (a week or two from "full") whilst the car is sat idle. The battery itself does not seem to be at fault. This rate of drain is a surprise and I've never experienced it with any previous car (Fiat, Ford, Vauxhall, BMW). Can anyone suggest what "hidden systems" might be causing this - power-hungry electrical systems which remain active even when car is parked on the drive? All suggestions gratefully received - please don't assume that anything is "obvious"- maybe I can't see the wood for the trees!! Tony.
