Hi all just wondering if anyone requires any body panels. Have them listed on ebay but now need the space in my garage back. S type se mistral blue 4 doors bonnet and bootlid plus front and rear bumpers. May also still have 2 front wings. Plus various other parts. Would love them to go as a job lot. FOR SALE T reg 1999 Jaguar s type 3.0 manual trans Spares or repair ( too good to break) Upgraded interior beige and black leather interior with se alloys Finished in mistral blue. Currently sorn as failed mot on rear subframe corrosion Subframe partially stripped but all parts in boot. Replacement subframe waiting to be fitted but now also needs welding to drivers side sill. Have sourced parts on ebay and internet Outer sills are available as a pair on ebay for £149.00 and inner sill strengthener panel is available from jaguar themselves or from barret jaguar on the net £168.00 But due to a motor accident not had time to complete. Now in need of the space as adopted an xf. Car runs and will be able to drive onto a trailer once sold will need rear shocks and discs refitting. Hi all been having the same problem on my 53 2.5 se After the radiator went bang Since then i have had to replace the top hose But still have a coant leak Then the other day i put some drain dye into the expansion tank hoping to locate the leak and suprise suprise there it is . The rubber seal inthe middle of the v that seals the radiator coolant return pipe (a cast aluminium part that is bolted on one side but held in the other by a rubber seal ) only thing i now i ll have to take the intake manifold off to remove the ofending part and replace the seal But as the manifold will be off i will take the time to change the plugs as they are due soon Hope this info helps

Reading a lot of peoples comments both here and elsewhere on the web have noticed a regular problem "REAR SUBFRAME FAILURE/ROT" I have a 1999 3.0 manual and a 53 2.5 auto and the early one has failed mot due to the above have bought a second hand subframe but it also has a few week spots on close inspection have had these repaired before I fit but was wondering if it is possible to modify the later model subframe to fit as it seems the later models don t suffer quite so much with this problem. I have removed a subframe previouly when I broke a 3.0se so not a major job but would prefer to fit it just once and not have to replace again in a few years time or does anyone know a firm or person who refurbishes or re manufactures the subframes All advise and info gratefully accepted darren

I picked up a 3.0 manual on a T plate for £650.00 and transfered my 3.0 se interior into it along with thd wheels etc if your lookinv for a newer model look at getting the sport model with as many factory options but a cloth intrrior as there are quiet a few se and even type R interiors around for resonable money . I also fitted a cone airfilter which 1 makes it sound a bit meatier but also has given me more throttle response but reduced fuel consumption now averaging 28 mpg on local trips and 34 plus on a run only thing to make sure is mot as new as poss or if not give the rear subframe a close inspection as mine just failed due to this but luckily picked up another for a song

I own a 3.0 manual and have to admit its more fun and usable than the auto I had that died through gearbox failure. tye manuals do seem to be a little cheaper than the auto s why not pic up a good reasonable price manual and spec it up ?

Added a £25 main beam kit from ebay ( china ) great improvement on standard light will upgrade dip lights during summer not problem with 2 mot s also as for the adjusters on the lights failing again I bought an aftermarket kit ( contains both sides in the kit adjusters and mountings instead of being made just from plastic like the original ones in the lights these are steel reinforced resin fitted with no problem and feel much more stable than the the originals that crumbled like a sugar cube

Yes I still have the cd changer and also the power steering pump pump is £14.00 changer is £25 you can either collect or arrange for postage

the one i have had the cd shuttle in the glove box so will have a largd hole where it sits as is is fitted around the cd

you mean the glove box liner ? does yours have the cd shuttle in the glove box ?

Can anykne help i m looking to swap my 1999 s type sport steering wheel for my old 1999 se multifunction wheel does anyone know of any problems i may incur . Want to ensure the lazyman radio controls work but would also love to try and retrofit the cruise ckntrol. Still have the comllete se car so any modules or wiring would not be a problem .but would love to know if it is possible without major re wiring or dealer reprograming Or do i just stick with the original wheel ?

I ve recently bought a "t" reg 99 s type manual as my auto died due to gearbox faultz and after having it rebuilt originally at a coct of over £600 decided to give a manual vrrsion a go So far haven t looked back the car is still a pleasure to drive and even returns better fuel figures with a sports air filter fitted than the the auto did. Wiuld recomend the manual to everyone but get the highest spec you can as the majority are a low sport spec. Not the se and do not have all the bells and whistles

Please can you help i have a 1999'v' s type 3.0 se auto .over 12 mths ago it experienced the dreaded gearbox fault as expected with the ford 5r55n gear box . I puchased another box that was told would fit but it turned out to be the 4.0 vrrsion using a. Very good local autobox shop. The internals were swapped and the box refitted with replacement parts where needed then fitted back on the car . It has run faultlessly for over 12mths even returning better fuel consumption than previously experienced . Then about a month ago i was driving the car at motorway speeds when it lost all drive not even limp home mode .i was advised the torque converter had gone and purchased another torque and box from a running driving car.after fitting the box i still have no drive but also no warning on the dash to report a fault .I have since bought another manual s type but am lothed. To break the old girl as the bodywork and interior are in excellent conditionHas anyone ever heard of or had this problemPlease please please help The fluid levels are fine and the j gate electrics all work fine , the cable also selects the gears.
