  5. by the sound of it basicly your left with it mate if you dont push it. hes bought the car prob from another customer of his and baicly if he has to do the work on yours then its eating into his profitts, so you have two choices if you got a good deal then take it on the chin and walk away. if you wer robbed then take him on
  6. andrew i would call your local trading standers every council has one. see what they say. if you paid by cash you might have a job forcing him to budge. if by card or on hp you could go down the line of rejection ie. not fit for the purpouse . call trading standers see what they say. but i would call the dealer 2mora tell him you want it fixed se wat he has to say. he sounds a sllipery gitt. if hes not going to fix it tell him your going to trading standers for as far as your concernd he has sold you a car not fit for purpouse. frighten the bugger. let us know how you get on. charlie

  10. sorry ken the black button is above your head on its own next to the interior lite charlie
  11. hi ken. i bought mine from local dealer came with years warrnty. and basicly the only trouble that i had was the parking sensors (rear) the front never had any probs with it was always the rear ones. the first one went, and took it to them they told me that wen one goes usually more go they seem to work in a chain link like christmas tree lights. they replaced the one that had gone 2weeks later the prob comes back it goes back in gets no2 replaced 2-3 weeks later no 3 rear goes and by this time im fumming coz my car before that was an x5 plagued with elec probs lost a fortune on getting rid of it then got the xk so i voiced my opinion to the service manager. who told me they would keep it and put it on thier diaognostic machine all nite and also replace it first and check the wiring loom. i got it back and alls been fine for about a year now. but ive heard on the site they are a prob across the jaguar range xf, xj,stype ect they seem to play up in the rain frost ect. my advice to you is to take it to a recomended indy jag specalists near you their is a list off them on this site recomended by other owners get them to replace it and ask them or tell them what ive told you about wen one goes others go to and ask them to check over your wiring loom to try and prevent it happining again. i dont thing they are expensive to buy ive seen them on ebay about £20 but then your charged for fitting. to engage the front parking sensors thier is a black button with a very small light on it if for example you are in drive and you are going into a parking space press the button that actavates the front sensors. ive never heard of any one complaining about them its allways the rear hope this has been helpfull regards charlie
  12. haha liked the towel rail bit. was over a my older sons house polishing his 325imsport and trying to cheer him and his brother up. they both lost thier jobs at the same time, both managers with phones4u. the older boy was just on the verge of buying bigger house so lucky ther. but they will get jobs no point in worring charlie
  13. trevor its a lovley car but apart from the rear spoiler looks just the same as yours. and as you say 61grand plus yours. its up to you mate its your money. its like me ive thought about upgrading to a newer xkr and told myself for wat i would get fleced again by those ba$$$$$ they look the same apart from one or two small diffrences and im not jackie stuart cant even get the chance to open up the xk never mind the xkr it looks great though like the green and fold down roof but like you ive no garage. charlie
  14. trevor the xkr-s is only a spit second faster than the xkr and its not as if you are tearing round the lanes of devon at over 100mph think of all them poor caravan owners haha charlie

  22. hi pete welcome to the club. ive not had that problem. to be honest the only probs ive had are parking sensors rear, had 3 replaced kicked up a stink at dealers had the wiring loom all checked and no probs since. but in the rain they can play up a bit it seems to be a prob across the jaguar range . so ive been told. had the rear cluster lights the ones on the boot replaced condensation, they can get the odd gremlin with key fobs batterys, display saying smart key not found. but really not have mutch probs with mine. better than the dreaded bm x5 i had before it. it was in and out every 2 weeks lost 7and half grand on that over a nine mnth period had egnough and got rid of it got the xk best car ive had. and that includes mercs. service it all me&mate like peter and trevor dont trust the stealerships. that link trevor gave you is whom i got the service kit for mine from their good to deal with. give them a try regards charlie
