peter i like the look of the s-type and looked inside one nice cars dont know how they stopped making them. and trevor the xk is the best looking car in my mind that jaguar has ever produced. you find yourself staring at it. as every one else as well they are scarce on the ground up here. charlie

trevor if i could swap my jag for an older one i would at the drop of a hat. for two reasons. one they look mutch better. secondly the increase in value. so people if you have an old jag and you fancy an xk send me a message will consider any offers charlie

i like the look of the bently trevor never sat in one but had a look at them . drove a ferrari 430 on my last birthday that the boys treated me to. the f-type seats are the same ie its like a go cart on the floor. to old for that now. charlie
  6. peter us scots like the welsh they are a friendly bunch and like their drink and a laugh . and they are made most welcome in edinburgh for the rugby much the same as the scots are treated with down their. alas ive never been to wales as ive never been to ireland. but invaded engerland a few times lol charlie
  7. lyn we dont have mutch of them up here as speed cameras & ther are no parking wardens in airdrie or coatbridge were as glasgow is awash with wardens. but i would love to see wardens in airdrie as people just dump their cars every wer. charlie

trevor the xk is a better looking car than the f-type. and the f-type is a bugger to get in and out of compared to the xk. yes i agree with you on the mercs. and should not have sold it to only later buy a vauxhall. to be honest if i was still working i would ither upgrade to a newer xkr just like yourself or a bently gt continental i would not buy the f-type. charlie

  10. hi alex and welcome. peter is right what he is saying. if i could exchange mine for a classic i would, they unlike modern cars increase in value. have losts thousands over the years to dealers. so good luck their. charlie
  11. the high life peter. i used to grow all or veg. but years ago done up the garden only two wee plots now. and didnt have the time with the business took all my time. but have always liked the garden. grouse on the other hand are wee buggers to shoot without beaters, you are on top of them before they fly out,but are very tasty . not had any for years. on my second cocktail as we speak peter. and my new light bulbs are installed in my xk and looking great .but cant remember how to post photos on here. charlie
  12. haha nice one. we also get plenty( cherry) up here to i ran our vans on it as well as my navarra for years lol . im of out shopping trevor her ladyship is having her afternoon nap, and its ( friday you know what that means) and im out of stock . regards charlie
  13. trevor&peter yes the both of you are prob right and i have also been told that from some mechanics, shell gets the best name so peter is lucky that hes got one on his doorstep. ive got morrisons 300yds away and 2 bp stations about 5-700yrds away in diffrent directions. nearest shell is in coatbridge 2half miles away. but iam happy with the morrisons stuff. while filling up the other week in bellshill peter (tesco) it said on the pump at lest 85% octain fuel. but as i said every now and then i put a addtive in the tank. ther are not many independant garages in this area trevor civilization came here long time a go. ask peter we have houses and cars up here now schools and shops now to tv s and computers the haggis run free charlie
  14. david you should recomend him to other members, thers a section on the forum for members to recomend indy garages cheers charlie
  15. grahame get yourself a set of winter tyres for the xf. they give you a fantastic grip on the road and they are great in the snow. used to have a merc few years ago, ive had a few any way the thing would not move in an inch of snow got a set of winter tyres and it whent throug 6-8 inches now prob at all. i even had a set for the lousy x5 i had before the xk and i have a set for it as well. my eldest has a 325m coupe and he has a set for his. the xf is a fantastic car ive never driven one but looked at a few they look great. charlie
  16. trevor i know what you are saying i myself usually put a high octane addative in the tank as well. its just that morrisons is only about 300yds from me. charlie
  17. and welcome to you as well grahame happy motoring mate. charlie
  18. hi paul welcome to the club mate. dont be kidded the x-type is a good car. and hope you get years of trouble free driving with it, most people love them and dont buy any other car once they have had a jag. charlie
  19. hi david you got a bargain there mate. hope your big cat runs well cheers charlie
  20. hi stephen welcome to the club. i like the xf might own one myself one day. ther are good mechanics & bad mechanics same as good builders &bad builders. i use supermarket fuel and dont see what the fuss is about and have read reviews on it . the one that came tops was shell. the bp stuff was just the same petol as morrisons & tesco, so every little helps as they say regards charlie
  21. hi peter sorry to hear about your team. as long as you enjoyed a day out, i am not into rugby or football golf or any thing else although i enjoy growing things in the garden and used to grow tomatoes for the wife but its the first year that i havnt grown them. thats my new ultra bright fog light bulbs & ultra bright cornering bulbs arrived just as im typing. just waiting on side light led to come wed or thur. let you know how i get on with them. but i did like the football when i was young celtic supporter. charlie
  22. hi simon welcome to the club, home you enjoy the xf d s, is the one to get, and im sure it has a winter mode button in it. but its a bonnie car. when im at the supermarkets ect in my jag i park well away from anybody else. but our daily is a vauxhall so i dont bother about it lol. charlie in bonnie scotland
  23. peter, some times you can get a false reading!!! ive had to loosen oil cap and dip it 2-3times. but like you i check it all over weekly tyres, oil, coolant, washers, and used to give the battery a wee charge every 2-3weeks but put a new one bosch s5 garunteed for 5years in april this year .but thers no harm in getting it checked out. ps how was the rugby did your team win. charlie
  24. trevor i love the xk. but its the last car i will buy for a long while i hope, ive wasted thousands over the years like you on them and could buy a f-type 2mora if i wanted but they loose their value too quick. iam happy with what ive got. HM said to me today what do you want for your birthday and at the same time said dont say a new car. i said i have all i want. but if i had said yep a new car she would have gave in. regards charlie
  25. trevor after my last message i just reminded my self on a problem i had with the rear lights. yes the dealer replaced the clusters both sides that are on the boot. but i had slight mould best way to describe it on the other set of the back lights on the wings.about 2-3mm inside the outer edge of them. dealer said it wasnt going to replace them as it was only cosmetic. got jaguar customer services involved a lady called anne manly . said she would moniter the situation when the car was in to get the cluster thats on the boot replaced. cut a long story short they .JAGUAR UK did nothing whats o ever to remide the problem even had the cheek to send out a feedback form to see how they had done. i gave them a score of -10. well they done nowpt so why should i give them a score . JAGUAR UK customer service is terrible as i have read on many a website. they are JUST THE SAME AS ALL THE REST ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY THEY COULDNT CARE LESS your friend was very lucky he got his money back. it was prob beacuse only had it for a few weeks. regards charlie
