trevor its a common fault with them ive even seen with my own eyes the local dealer taggarts on their forcourt xj with moister in the back lights. my xk had it as well rear cluster lights , they were replaced under warranty, also seen the same prob with audi s again rear lights charlie

hi ant, before i buy a car i go onto used car expert site. ther you will find the common faults of any car. check it out. the only faults i know of on the new xj are condensation in the rear light units, and the gear selector should be smooth. all cars have faults, hope this has been of help charlie

trevor bugger that im the shopping boy she gives me a list every day to go to the shops its better than pulling one of those things behind , but i do go into town for a walk as its only qurtermile away if its nice out. heads a bit better now charlie

trevor will persist with the light units myself and if cant get them back in without scratching body work then will get mate to help, my old dad wanted me to be a mechanic but i didnt listen weras mate has been operating for 30yrs and has more houses than wimpey. yes will be using the vauxhall for a few days but that is wat i bought it for a daily runner, wats the sat nav for !!! charlie

trevor yours are the new type with the day time running lights incorparated into the headlight unit, mines are a bit old fashioned with orange side bulbs ,so i just wanted to upgrade them a bit, also my fog lights are a bit dull,(notice you dont have any unless they are in the light unit.) my sidelight bulb had conked out in one of my front units so decided to try and improve the look of the xk with new lights. whent down to halfords yesterday had a look and asked for a bit of help the young guy was very helpfull and pointed me in the way of these brighter bulbs, was going to go the full hog and get them upgraded to led s but think it would waste the look of the jag. so have bought brighter bulbs on ebay last nite that should fit in without any problem, also a lot cheeper than halfords even with the discount card i spent about 60-70quid i think as strong drink was taken last nite . not a good idea to combine drink and ebay as i have preiviosly found out lol. i started yesterday her lady ship went for her afternoon nap, i jacked up the jag put an axle stand under the front drivers side and removed the front wheel wer in the wheel arch is one of 3 bolts that you remove to take or loosen the light unit. that way you get accsess to the light unit compartments was at it for hours and ther she sits in back drive. will take photo once head clears better today bulbs wont arrive till later in the week. my mate who owns the garage phoned me last nite and i told him wat i had done he said why didnt i bring it to the garage, i told him i didnt want to bother him as he is already to kind to me, its going to be a bugger to get back in but will persist take photos later and try and post them on site, sorry about the long story folks but their it is regards charlie

hi guys was thinking of upgrading my side lights& the orange marker lights next to indicator bulbs (but not them) on my xk to led s but some one told me its illegal in the uk. can any one shed any light on this charlie

trevor im off to fill the jag at tesco filling station in bellshill (clydebridge area peter) i have saved 10p a litre off, then give it a wash. hopefully my two boys will buy their old dad a custom made red car cover for his birthday in a couple of weeks haha charlie

trevor me and HM had a talk the other nite shes all for it. were as i am undecided, watched the debate on tv between salmon and darling. darling was getting heated. think salmon won that one . in my humble opinion i think it will be close. just like new xkr or f-type haha charlie

i know trevor, i do put my foot down now and then, the xk stays or i move out in to a caravan lol. no both cars are here now and staying, just wished i hadnt sold her merc. charlie

hi paul i would take the f-type to a recomended indy garage near you, thers a list some wer on the site of them that other members have recomended. or mybe peter can help you ie. knows one near to you. get them to take them off clean them with brake caliper cleaner and give coat of primer the get them done the coulor you want. i know you can buy decals for them on e-bay. hope this has helped cheers charlie

peter & trevor just back from a wee drive with the wife and the xk, found ourselfs at taggarts just after closing time today (they close at 5 on sunday) that way you get peace to look about see wats ther. wat we doing here she asked just having a look dear see whats ther. haha didnt see any xkr trevor, but i have to in form the both of you on this one, my pal has a motor home its a nice one but its 4berth hes asked me to look on the web for a 6th berth one newer model than his current 08 plate so the serch begins charlie

god. trevor i thought you wer only kidding about the caravans, if its as bad as you say no wonder your complaining. the xf is automatic trevor she wont touch them, old fashioned. yes im very happy with my xk. but you know wat like it is after a while you fancy somthing diffrent, i could buy a xkr but the pension budget would be blown. charlie

leslie, bms are boring and rubbish audi looks not mutch better wats left mercs are the best of that lot, but jags are the best by a mile. take a xf for a test drive, ps it will tow a caravan no probs you can visit trevor and you would be able to park the caravan and xf in trevors drive, hes partial to scones and cream teas regards charlie
