  1. Hi everyone Loud squeaks from the front of my 2006 XKR are getting louder. I had the same problem with my 2006 S Type but never got to the bottom of it. sailed through its MOT recently so I’m assuming it’s nothing major, any ideas or remedies welcome. Keith.
  2. Have you checked the fuse?, I think it’s F9 under the bonnet.
  3. Hi Steve No mate, that's a master cylinder, its the servo I need. Keith
  4. Hi Steve VIN is N69421 Number on servo is 6R83-2005-AB Thanks Russ, i'll have a look
  5. Hi everyone I fitted a second hand brake servo to my 06 2.7 diesel S Type last year after it failed. Just under a year later this one has now also failed. Wish I had fitted a new one now which is what I intend to do this time but the cheapest I can find is £520!! Does anybody know any suppliers I can try who may be able to supply this cheaper? Thanks

    EGR

Since found out they put my old MAF sensors back as they were not at fault. replaced both EGR valves. Charged me £942!! Car had half a tank of diesel when it went in but not even enough to get me home when I got it back so that was another £50. Since learned I was well ripped off, so much for using indy instead of main dealer! Classic Cats, Warrington, never again.

    EGR

My 06 2.7 diesel (71,000 miles) suddenly cut out at the lights last week. Started immediately but cut out again after about 5 seconds. Brought home on transporter, showing reduced performance message, Next day started ok ran for about 20 minutes then same problem. Did not go into limp mode, just cuts out as if ignition turned off, starts ok for 5 seconds then straight off again, longer I leave it the longer it runs for. Jag indy took it in and said MAF sensors, changed them but same problem, Then told me EGR valves, changed both at a cost of £950! Got car back today so will see how it goes, have I been ripped off at that price? Comments please
  8. It appears that the brake servo has failed on my 2006 S Type. I have spoken to lots of people (mainly on E-Bay) who are breaking S types, they tell me there are many different ones fitted over the years and they are snapped up very quickly because its a common fault. I have looked at jag forums and nobody seems to mention it as a problem and it doesn't look that common. Has anybody had any problems with servo's, any advice appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Happy Birthday Keith1!

  10. Yes I read that page of the handbook but it doesn't give any details as to check whether it is on or not or any way of checking it. Almost everybody that mentions them in the forums speaks of an obvious plume of smoke coming from the front passenger side of the car in the winter when it switches itself on. One suggestion I had from elsewhere was to pull the fuse that covers the auxiliary heater while the engine is running then when its pushed back in the heater will fire up regardless of the temp, I tried that put it still didn't appear to be on.
  11. Had my 2006 2.7 diesel for 2 years now and never had a problem. Cold in the winter and takes ages to warm up. I didn't know it had an auxiliary heater until somebody told me recently. I don't think mine is working or has worked since I've had the car because I have never heard it or seen any smoke coming from the front in the winter which I now believe is a sign of it operating in the winter. Does anybody know how I can switch it on or check that it does work? Has anybody else had a problem with theirs? I would appreciate any help, thanks.
  12. Hi Has anybody fitted one of these diesel tuning chips to their diesel S Type? They are sold on E-bay for around £80. The sellers claim an increase in bhp (from 206 to 245) plus increase of around 20% in MPG. The feedback from buyers (for various diesel cars) looks great, seems a bit too good to be true! Any ideas or experience anybody!! Thanks
  13. Do what most Jag owners do, "Put your foot down"!
  14. What I love most about my Jag is ......the colour!
  15. Hi, joined today but have owned my S Type for just over a year. 06 2.7 diesel with 54,000 miles. Just flew through its mot and I have had no problems whatsoever since I bought it. Pleasure to drive and I would recommend an S Type diesel to anybody thinking of buying one.
