  1. Peter, Streatham ? bit extreme that ! ATB, Trevor
  2. Ken, I went to a treble dead 'ard Welsh school, and Lyndon was regarded as a poncy name , never did like it. Even the kids didn't know it was my proper name. ATB, Trevor
  3. Peter, Couldn't agree more, that speech recognition is more trouble than it's worth in my opinion, and you don't really need it . But that's enough about the wife ! ATB, Trevor
  4. Peter, She just likes the look of yours, that's why she hated the XJ Supersport (fantastic car), if it looked like your we would still have it. ATB, Trevor
  5. Neville, Have found this, it might have been deactivated by the dealer . " One specific area that the IQS survey identified as being 'difficult to use' for XF was Jaguar VoiceControl™. The Company has therefore taken the decision to deactivate VoiceControl™ on all with immediate effect, starting with VIN R95245. On vehicles that no longer have VoiceControl™ activated, the steering wheel mounted button will mute the audio volume, similar to the current XK functionality." It seems it was reintroduced with the 2012 models, had it on my XJ Supersport, but never used it. Are you sure your model has it? ATB, Trevor
  6. Peter, Sounds interesting. Told the wife, and she said could you ask them to design them like proper Jags please (like yours) ? ATB, Trevor
  7. Charlie, The message went this time. ATB, Trevor
  8. David, I agree with what Charles says, it's all horses for courses really. The 4.2 is fab, as is the 5 litre , and the 5 litre supercharged engined cars . The degree in difference of power isn't something that should be an issue really, as all the cars are powerful compared to your average car . This is why I didn't get the XKR-S recently, I didn't think it was worth trading in my car plus £19500 for a car of the same age, for minimal improvement in performance. If you like the car you saw, buy it, it you're happy that is the main thing . Mileage doesn't seem to matter as much these days with modern cars, whereas it used to be a defining issue in years gone by . I think £25K does seem expensive for the year of car you were looking at, and I would think you could get a standard XK 5 litre which is newer for the same money. But as I said, if you like it buy it, they're all good. ATB, Trevor
  9. Stan, Don't worry about it , as my real name is Hendrix, changed it by deed poll from my Welsh name Lyndon which I never liked, ATB, Trevor (just to add connfusion)
  10. Charlie, I don't get pestered either, I just tell them to p**s off !. Will PM you my pumpkin i've made . ATB, Trevor P.S., It won't let me send you a message, and if I put the pic on here i'll get told off !
  11. Charlie, I live on holiday down here, which is just as well, as 'er indoors won't go anywhere . But no point in worrying about anything ! Got Halloween sorted . ATB, Trevor
  12. Charlie, every day is Christmas for her. ATB, Trevor
  13. Was the woman ok ( just a sexist remark to get a reaction) ATB, Trevor
  14. David, The service has been put off until next Tuesday as the garage owner has damaged his back. £25K seems rather a lot for a 2002 XKR, why not pay a bit more and get the 5 litre model , or even the 5 litre XK ?. As for 20" wheels, cannot understand the problem people have with them, I get on with the fine, still horse for courses ATB, Trevor
  15. Charlie, You think you have troubles? mine has a birthday Christmas Eve ! ATB, Trevor
  16. Charlie, I drank too much, that was part of my downfall. But i'm lots better now and will keep the XKR, although will see how it goes . But when I change, it will have to be for something quick, can't be doing with these shandy drinking cars . Found your Christmas tree by the way . ATB, Trevor
  17. Buster, Welcome to the club, they are a friendly bunch here and will help if they can . A little tip regarding the personalised number plate . Just change you name by deed poll online to you current number plate, only costs £15 ATB, OV62 SSX ( Trevor)
  18. Peter, I might consider the 5 litre version in 2017, as I'll be getting a tad too long in the tooth for sports cars by then. But we'll see . The service on my XKR has been put off until next Tuesday as the garage owner has damaged his back . Still awaiting builders for my final house repairs , the builders make Lord Lucan seem a pest. ATB, Trevor
  19. Waiting for the 5 litre supercharged version . Jaguar are going to get back to me . ATB, Trevor
  20. Officially unveiled. The stunning Jaguar XE takes to the stand at the Mondial de l'Automobile Officiel / Paris Motor Show. More details of the range: http://www.jaguar.com/jaguar-range/xe/index2.html?utm_expid=91975579-8.KqXLQM9DSWmqBtmfP2tW2w.1&utm_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fl.facebook.com%2Fl.php%3Fu%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fbit.ly%252F1rFaeU0%26h%3DyAQGK3qCn%26enc%3DAZNzzxcX1A2N8H1ngYe9aUjGZITQeg_m3XEUSyZEP3sMape6zVIYDtwkJllYa70IvbUC1MbFUv25NsOyBxwkbRiKl8qFMEYmvkd2EjAIjdV3Uzs8lIZTnYMZnUUvVXNgqJywYu_SleiraDpR3FFLrhgK%26s%3D1 ATB, Trevor
  21. Charlie, 2016 is longer though, and that's when it's due. ATB, Trevor
  22. Charlie, It's 2016, it might be different up in Caravan lover's land , but it's a long way away, can't thing that far ahead. And besides, i'm trying to behave myself with cars for the time being . And i've told you before, stop hanging around in supermarkets young man ! ATB, Trevor
  23. Charlie, You sure you don't meant the XE? The new XF isn't due until 2016 http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/jaguar/xf/66687/jaguar-xf-2016-spied ATB, Trevor
  24. Peter, Don't tell him how to get into the car though, let him stew for a bit. Would be easier if there was a keyhole for the boot like all other Jags. Saying that, mine is impossible to find if you don't know where it is. ATB, Trevor
  25. Charlie, Has been postponed until a week tomorrow as the garage owner has pulled a muscle in his back. Story of my life, nothing is straight forward ! Builders are also delayed. Getting anything done down here is like finding the Holy Grail . Sometimes I yearn for civilisation . Will keep you informed ATB, Trevor
