  1. Peter, She would agree to anything, that is the problem. ATB, Trevor
  2. Peter, She is REALLY pestering ! ATB, Trevor
  3. Mike . Welcome, the site is easy to use and the people friendly. just ask, and things seem to be solved quickly and easily I have an XKR at present but the wife is badgering me to buy this . https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwaCECmS3EroTm9EcFdVZXgtemc&usp=sharing ATB, Trevor
  4. Martin, Well done, if you'd have asked I'd have sent the wife up (or across in your case) to nag it off !. ATB, Trevor
  5. Peter, You are right again, maybe I should have just ***** it all up against the wall like the work shy , for all the thanks you get for working your whole life and trying to make things secure for the future . But I do have a nice Jag, and the sun is shining. ATB, Trevor
  6. Peter , You are right of course, but don't forget we have milder weather than you, I used to use the rag tops in the Aston and the BMW's in the winter . I was just getting a tad disenchanted after receiving a letter stating my pension is to be means tested , and that pensioners still have to pay council tax, whilst the riff raff get a free living . I think my car does look better, also I think the "S" versions of the XKR and the XFR are vastly overpriced for the slightly better performance they offer . But if anyone is interested it's on sale for £61K at the Grange in Exeter. ATB, Trevor
  7. Welcome John , The E type is a fantastic looking car, my all time favourite, wish I had bought one now (or even an Eagle E Type) instead of wasting my money on Two Aston Martins . Should you ever get fed up of it I'm willing to trade in the wife for it .( that's a wiper blade's worth then). ATB, Trevor
  8. Charlie, My XKR is very quick, I actually don't like the "towel rail" on the back of the XKR-S, and have always though rag tops look a bit scruffy . Mine is a very good looking car and I think it actually looks better than the XKR-S, the difference in price between the XKR and the XKR-S is a lot, abut there is not a lot of difference in performance . Cannot see the point of giving the robbing B******S my car and £16k, for a car that is older, albeit only by six months. This is the same reasoning I didn't but the XFR-S earlier in the year from them . And Mark my words, the roof would go wrong . ATB, Trevor
  9. David, Why do you use a Jag dealer, Surely an independent is far cheaper and better ? Here is a list of independent dealers: http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/7304-recommended-independent-garages/ ATB, Trevor
  10. Charlie, I agree, it hasn't as much spec as mine, mine is a XKR Dynamic( whatever that is) I think mine looks better . The XKR-S has done nearly 19000 miles, is six months older than mine, and is on sale for £61K . So they would want my car and at least £16K . Also seems very strange they come out of the woodwork soon as they think there is a possible sale This is what they're trying to tempt me with . https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwaCECmS3EroTm9EcFdVZXgtemc&usp=sharing But the answer will be "No thank you" ATB, Trevor
  11. Charlie, I think that is what I'll do, they'll only want mine and cash anyhow . Also, being a convertible, it is bound to go wrong, i've had three and they've all gone wrong, the Aston twice. ATB, Trevor
  12. Peter, No , the biggest problem with a rag top is not having any garage, which I haven't, I would much rather a manual than an electric roof . I think the rag tops always look a tad tacky also, much prefer the hard top convertible system such as the BMW's use. Looks a lot better in my opinion. Also, it will cut down on the boot space a lot . Not had the pics and any offers sent back yet though ; the salesman was probably told off for speaking to me. ATB, Trevor
  13. Richand Peter In the last three years i've had a BMW M sports convertible, a BMW M3 convertible, Aston Martin DB9 convertible, Aston Martin DB9 Le Mans, a Jaguar XJ Supersport, http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/gallery/album/98-jaguar-xj-supersport/ and now the XKR, which is stunning. http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/gallery/album/129-jaguar-xkr-2012/ I was thinking it was about time I started behaving, but I will see what they offer for the XKR, i've only had it for five months. ATB, Trevor
  14. Now that I'm a pensioner I've decided it was time I was sensible . I am really happy with my XKR, which is stunning. But out of the blue I get this email from my tame Jag salesman ( the only one that speaks to me at the stealership) " Hope you're all good up there in sunny North Devon? I've just part-exchanged a stunning British Racing Green XKR-S Convertible which I sold new 2 years ago. Rare car - would you be interested? " What do you reckon, go for it, or be sensible (boring) ? ATB, Trevor
  15. Howard, I would borrow a new battery if possible, and go from there. Quite often things not working properly is a sign of the battery on the wane. But whatever the problem, I hope you get is sorted shortly. ATB, Trevor
  16. Peter The Aston (also owned by Ford not so long ago) V 12's are just two Mondeo V6's superglued together . And that is the best part of them. ATB, Trevor
  17. Cannot understand all the derogatory comments such as it's a " Mondeo in a fur coat" , not on here i might add . I owned a Mondeo a few years back and it took me everywhere, and never let me down, which is more than can be said for the two BMW's and two Aston Martins i've owned ! ATB, Trevor
  18. Have big words Pete, stealerships are about as useful as Ann Frank's drum kit ! ATB, Trevor P.S., They'll probably charge you to have a word !
  19. Knew I shouldn't have let the wife drive it ! ATB, Trevor
  20. Trevor, Excellent ! my daughter lives in Croydon ( for reasons only known to her) will do a job lot on the coffee, yourself and Keith . My XKR http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/gallery/album/129-jaguar-xkr-2012/ ATB, Trevor (the pensioner one)
  21. Trevor, Welcome, nice to have someone from civilisation ( just a little jest Peter and myself have) . Used to live in the South East myself ( my daughter still does) but now live in the sticks. ATB, Trevor
  22. Peter, 2017 ? I'll be needing an invalid carriage by then ! . Think I'll stick to the XKR then . ATB, Trevor
  23. Are they going to do a "R" version with a bigger engine? ATB, Trevor
  24. Stan, Very brave of you to confess to being a Yorkie, I never tell anyone the Godforsaken hole I'm from . ATB, Trevor
