  1. Peter, Young Charlie Scottish, they don't know about Rugby up there; they think it's some place in the Midlands with loads of radio masts . ATB, Trevor
  2. Steve, Why not just put the original disc back in, doesn't the sat nav just read off the disc? Have got DAB so can't comment on FM reception, Up my way the reception seems to is poor for TV, DAB (in the house) and mobiles. I still cannot understand how the Sat Nav could interfere with radio reception though . Out of curiosity, is the reception still bad if you take the sat nav disc out ? ATB, Trevor
  3. Charlie, That is what the wife said about the XJ Supersport, fantastic car, but didn't look like a Jag , and in my opinion the same can be said for the XF . I much prefer the shape of the S type like Peter has, and the X type out of the more recent models. But saying that, I think the XK is a fab looking car , and arguably the best Jaguar produce . ATB, Trevor
  4. Charlie, Like the look of the old Bentleys, it's the new ones I'm not to fond of . My XKR has performance seats in it and are very comfy especially on long journeys, and the car is very low, you're not too old Charlie , you would thoroughly enjoy it , Not that you can around these parts at the moment as it is crammed with holiday makers, and the road works don;t help ABT, Trevor
  5. Peter, Many a time I went to the Arms park with my father when I was a youngster. Good old days. ATB, Trevor
  6. Charlie, The Bentley would be to big for the roads round here, that's one of the reasons I got rid of the XJ Supersport . Looked at the new Bentleys and I don't like them much, just tarted up VW's . I do like the XKR as I said , which In will probably keep it, 'er indoors has now thankfully gone of Ferraris ATB, Trevor
  7. Charlie, Nice one, you should get the glass cover with the Jaguar etched into to round things off. Still might get the F Type when the 5 litre R becomes more available, but not sure as I really like the XKR. Looked at a Merc and can get one at reduced price as my friend works at the Nottingham stealership . Good cars, but zero charisma , but still better than a Vauxhall though ! ATB, Trevor
  8. Lyn, I'm in Ilfracombe . Used to live in Risca and go to school at Pontllanfraith . ATB, Trevor
  9. Sam, Welcome to the forum, everyone is friendly here and can usually sort out any problems . Feel free to post some pics of your XF . ATB, Trevor
  10. Peter, Have had it in various cars, including the XJ Supersport, but never used it, think it is just a gimmick really. ATB, Trevor
  11. Peter, Surely if the signs were unclear you can appeal ? But I think what goes against you is being caught speeding both on a tandem and on a normal bicycle . They probably think " Lightfoot" is not your right one ! After the speeding on the bicycles, and having to go on a speed awareness course , I would say that you're well on your way to becoming a cult figure ! ATB, Trevor
  12. Peter, This is where the chav nav comes in handy, especially the adaptive type. ATB, Trevor
  13. Lyn, So down in Devon and didn't pop in? ATB, Trevor
  14. Adrain, I'm sure it isn't anything to worry about. ATB, Trevor
  15. Peter, Adrian is obviously not married, with a woman in tow he won;t have any money in his pocket. ATB, Trevor
  16. Steve, Very strange, perhaps it was just a blip, obviously keep an eye on it . This happened to me when I bough an ex dem BMW 335 M sport three years ago . The message cleared itself, but came back now and then. Turned out it was a faulty fuel pump, it was on all the models of the 335's at the time, BMW new about it and instead of a reacall they were replacing the fuel pumps at the first service. The dealership also knew about this bit still sold me the car, just another reason I dislike them . Not saying that is the problem with yours though . ATB, Trevor
  17. Peter, I wasn't disagreeing with Ken , but most of the resurgence has been put down to the XF. Nothing at all wrong with the Mondeo, as a matter of fact I owned an old one, it took me everywhere until I retired , never once let me down, which more than can be said for the Aston Martins ( two Mondeo engines superglued together) and BMW's i've owned! . Also, I prefer the look of The X type and S type to the look of the new XF's and XJ's ATB, Trevor
  18. Ken, Welcome to the club and I hope you enjoy the site . Most people would disagree with you and say the TATA group and the introduction of the XF saved Jag , but that's just opinion . Personally I like all the Jags . ATB, Trevor
  19. Steve, Should be going down to Brighton myself by rights , but the wife's boy has not invited her to his wedding, I somehow have got the blame for this , but I shall be having words if our paths should ever cross. Was in Hayling Island camping many years ago, and we went to Pompey to get married, couldn't be bothered in the end, went to the pictures instead. ATB, Trevor
  20. Steve, Don't forget we are West Country now , mustn't expect miracles . In the XJ Supersport, I could have 'er indoors watching a DVD, me listening to the radio, and also the sat nav working, all with no interference . But look positive, you're no longer up in the midlands, and this time next week you will have the problem sorted ATB, Trevor
  21. Brian, It was a copy of mine I burnt for him. All it says is Europe 2012-2013 .and give the Jaguar part number, and Denso part number . There isn't any documentation with the discs . I would say your car being 2013 would have the latest installed, as I think mine has . Tried the copy in my car 2012 XKF and it worked perfectly . Cannot see why it should interfere with the radio reception though . ATB, Trevor
  22. Steve, Don't have any idea why that should be, the DVD player just reads it like any other disc , it was ok when I tried it in my car. Do you have digital radio? have you tried retuning it ?, it sounds like it could be a bad Ariel connection . Try putting the original disc back in and see what happens , but i cannot see the DVD disc being the problem. ATB, Trevor
  23. Charlie, Just go to " More reply options" (bottom right) , then "attach files" (bottom left), go to the file (browse), then click on "attach this file" , then "add reply" . This picture is Ilfracombe taxis ATB, Trevor
  24. Peter, we are quite lucky that we do get plenty of freshly murdered local fair down here , do not get hungry at all though, so only eat one meal a day, and like that cooked, eaten and washed up as quick as possible. The wife tends to have plenty to grouse about though ! ATB, Trevor
  25. Charlie, Can't pretend civilisation has reached us down here yet, although plenty of northerners have . The recommended fuel for my XKR is minimum 91 RON ; recommended 95-98 RON We have lots of (expensive) independent garages down here, the supermarket stuff is dearer than most parts of the country also . The best we can hope for down here is good quality red diesel . Don't own a TV or one of those portable telephones, and don't like shops, especially supermarkets . The schools can't be that good ,had to send mine to Oxford to finish her education . I do have a house though ! ATB, Trevor
