  1. Kevin, My daughter lives in Croydon ( Purley Oaks Road), it was her I took to the gig last week . I cannot abide bad manners, especially if someone asks a simple question . A bit of banter is fine, it goes towards a friendly forum . But do not worry too much, I'm sure your problem isn't too big . Look on the positive side, this time next week you'll have it solved . ATB, Trevor
  2. Charlie, Why not use the chap at the garage if he's willing to help, I'm sure it wouldn't cost too much , and it would free up some of your time so you could polish the Vauxhall . I've never used ebay so can't comment . My XKR doesn't appear to have fog lights, but I plan to drive faster than the speed of light anyhow. Managed to get the Sat nav disc done for Steve by the way . ATB, Trevor
  3. Peter, Have you a friendly independent mechanic who could give you advice, they can usually get the genuine Jaguar parts cheaper also ?. Do you live anywhere Sutton Coldfield ? that's where the other Peter lives (Old Peter) he has a very good mobile mechanic that he has used for years. He would probably be able to suggest someone else if that is too far away. ATB, Trevor
  4. Kevin welcome, I'm sure we will be able to get to the bottom of this problem, so don't get too disheartened . Which part of Surrey are you from? I used to live in Guildford and was down in Sutton only last week for a gig Wilber, Please treat our new members with a little respect , he is only asking for a little help . ATB, Trevor
  5. Tony, I had a XJ Supersport and it was fab, only got rid of it because the wife said it was ugly, and was too big for the roads around here, it was a tremendous car !. Cannot agree with Peter about Main dealers having a reputation to maintain . In my experience I found that they don't give two hoots about the customer, they just want your money. Their prices are extortionate , as are their spare parts. The only reason I would use one is for the warranty, then get it serviced elsewhere. My friend just bought a XJ (£30K) on my recommendation from the main dealers in Nottingham . It went back three times in the first six weeks for the same problem, he took the car back yesterday and got his money back . But saying that, I hope you get what you want without any problems. ATB, Trevor
  6. Charlie ' Like the pun but don't really know what you mean. Here are my lights Front: The side lights are LED, little small bulbs And the rear: ATB, Trevor
  7. Peter, Surely you haven't been dropped again ! ? ATB, Trevor
  8. Peter, I do not have a telly, only do live stuff . What position are you playing ? The correct sat nav disc copied ok and played in my car, so it should be fine for young Steve down in Cornwall land. ATB, Trevor
  9. Brian, Peter will be back from the rugby later and has an S type and will probably be able to help you . I've had a quick look round and the general consensus seems to be a liberal spraying of WD 40 ! Found this: " The problem with the central locking is also quite common, try looking at each internal latch in turn when you lock the car, if one stick in the unlocked position, the car will unlock itself. If one sticks in the locked position, it will lock itself. Sounds like you may have one of each? Sometimes a squirt of WD40 to the mechanism will help but a search on here will provide much more information." ATB, Trevor
  10. Steve, One thing i cannot understand is why it takes multiple people to go shopping . I never enter any shop with 'er indoors , and I also buy a lot of stuff online so I can avoid the shops ATB, Trevor
  11. Steve, I would have thought you would have know better than to go anywhere near Bodmin during grockle season . Roll on September ! Why on earth would you want to go to Bodmin for anyhow ? ATB, Trevor
  12. Steve, Joshua, that's him, he's about nine . I went there with the intention of buying an F Type, but they only had the one with the dinky toy engine in at the time, and I didn't like they way he scoffed because my XJ Supersport was white . The F type is nice , but not a lot of room inside, at least with the XKR you have posh luggage space that poses as rear seats , but you never know, I might get The F Type R next year . ATB, Trevor
  13. Steve, Nearly bought something from the Taunton garage but the salesman was a bit to up himself , think his name was Justin ( or some name beginning with "J"). The main thing I have against stealerships is the hourly rate they charge for their work, and the price they charge for spare parts , which can be got a lot cheaper elsewhere . You can't have a Jag and moan about 35 MPG , i've never had a car that's done that , I get 30 MPG on the motorway in mine, and it averages 21MPG. You'll be telling me it runs on devil's fuel next ! I also find I get better MPG if I use cruise control . ATB, Trevor
  14. Steve, She has, but I must admit I am fanatical about it . I like most stuff apart from pop music and country music . My friend has returned the XJ he got from the stealership in Nottingham on my recommendation, and got his money back . He took it back with the same faults three times in six weeks, that's why I use independents ! ATB, trevor
  15. Steve, You reckon ? she does call herself " Princess Marcie of Ilfracombe" ( really ) and she is quite relieved you talk to me about cars and not music . ATB, Trevor
  16. Craig, Is the battery in good order ? ATB, Trevor
  17. Craig, Welcome , hope you enjoy the site, there is usually someone on hand to sort out any problems . ATB, Trevor P.S I was brought up in the valleys
  18. Peter, you are right, it is in the player . Steve , It is in the player, but as soon as you take it out the navigation system doesn't work, so even if you installed into your player soon as you took the disc out to return it your navigation wouldn't work, otherwise I would pop it down tomorrow to Cornwall land. Suggestions welcome . ATB, Trevor
  19. Steve, Honestly don't know, that's all I was given . All I can suggest is slap them in and see what happens . ATB, Trevor
  20. Amanda, Same here, but i'm a Devon dime, what's your excuse ? ATB, Trevor x
  21. Charlie, All the best people are Virgos . mine spends like it's going out of fashion, but the reason I can't leave her on her own is because she's ill . ATB, trevor
  22. Daniel, She must think along the same lines as my daughter then, but just tell her she hasn't got to go it it . ATB, Trevor
  23. Charlie, Don't put supermarket fuel in, it's junk, ask any mechanic .Tis my birthday shortly also . Also,I would love to go to the rugby with Peter, but unfortunately I can't leave the wife on her own . ATB, Trevor
