  1. Peter, Don't know much about devil's fuel vehicles but from what peeps say they seem to benefit from "opening up the taps" from time to time . ATB, Trevor
  2. Peter, Would Mick benefit fro the Terraclean thing that you suggest to a lot of peeps? ATB, Trevor
  3. Roy, Excellent ! to be honest I'm not keen on the colour, but each to his own, I'm half Welsh anyhow, so what do I know ? Aston martins are not worth talking about as Jags are the best , and everyone should have one in their retirement . ATB, Trevor P.S. fantastic model by the way, I get really irritated that I can't do anything like that !
  4. Richard, The XF is fab isn't it? That was the car the stealership lent me the various times the Aston was in the garage , it was so good I vowed the next car I bought would be a Jag. On one occasion they lent me the XF- R - S , which at 550BHP was quite a beast , but was so much dearer than the XF-R is wasn't really justified . Glad you got you speakers fixed, as a retired music researcher I'm very fussy about the quality of the audio . ATB, Trevor
  5. Roy, Good call, I've had two Astons, overpriced heaps of junk and notoriously unreliable , also not particularly fast ( my XKR is miles faster, as was my XJ Supersport). The DB7 also has to be serviced twice as often as the DB9's and Vantage, which is extremely expensive ( My DB9 cost £1150 for a basic service!) . The XK is a far superior car in every way , as is the XF . Also I would be careful of diesels they might work out expensive the way things are going . http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-28540259 ATB, Trevor
  6. Peter. You are right about them all being down here ( and it's not just the caravan peeps who get taken by surprise at our cart tracks) . I have never had a lie in in my life, and get up by 4-45 am every day, followed by taking the wife's dog (prefer caravans to dogs by the way) for a three mile walk around the reservoirs . Punctures are quite common on our dirt tracks, which is the one thing I am dreading . I haven't a spare wheel, just one of those compressors and a tin of gunk, which would be useless on anything but a small puncture I think. So when that happens, Jaguar breakdown it will be ! ATB, Trevor
  7. Peter, My car is Kyan blue ( or some trendy colour like that) is has a metallic finish . So far I haven't had any trouble from the rubbish thrown up by our cart tracks around here ATB, Trevor
  8. Peter, Up nice and early I see . I'm sure Michael will enjoy his car, the Jags just have a special something about them . Can't move for holiday makers now. The two people involved in the big accident on Saturday, although rather poorly still, are heading in the right direction, which is good news . ATB, Trevor
  9. Michael, Looking good young Man !. I'm sure you'll get loads of enjoyment out of it. ATB, Trevor
  10. Darrell, Think Peter is probably right.. That is the one thing I find strange about the XKR, it hasn't got a temperature gauge . ATB, Trevor
  11. Peter, I'm not saying all caravaners are irresponsible and the caravan club probably has the more intelligent caravan types. But some of the ones you see down here I'm sure have never towed a caravan before in their lives , and they are really taken by surprise by some of the Devon roads . We had 400 parked up yesterday, we couldn't move for hours (although in fairness I don't think the accident was the fault of a caravaner) But if they must insist on coming, surely it would be easier for them to travel at night ?. I'm sure they would prefer it in Scarborough ! ATB, Trevor
  12. Make them take a test before they tow them, as a lot of drivers can't, and keep them out of Devon, we do provide decent hotels, and camp sites with caravans already there ! ATB, Trevor
  13. Peter, I would have thought anyone who could afford a Jag, could afford a hotel, the roads down here are just not big enough for them, as yesterday proved. The XK hasn't really got rear seats, it's just posh baggage space, but there's only the two of us. Exmoor here I come ! ATB, Trevor
  14. Peter, You are right, to quote a reviewer : " There are even rumours that the XK model has received renewed interest recently thanks to would be F-Type customers who are attracted by its combination of style and greater practicality." And as for b****y caravans , after this accident they diverted them down the lane past me, couldn't get my car out for over five hours as four of the caravans had blocked the lane. But in fairness the lane is very steep, narrow, and extremely windy . http://www.northdevongazette.co.uk/news/two_injured_and_traffic_gridlocked_by_woolacombe_crash_1_3701523 ATB, Trevor
  15. Peter, I'm banned from Facebook because the P C brigade do not have a sense of humour . ATB, Trevor
  16. Charlie, I do, I was lucky enough to survive my flat lining, that's why I try to stay as fit as I can , don't drink, smoke or eat junk . The weather is brilliant, think I'll take the Jag over Exmoor, so life can't be that bad can it? It was so warm in Ilfracombe yesterday that the pensioners were walking around on the sea front with their overcoats undone ! ATB, Trevor (England)
  17. Charlie, My dad , evidently fit as a fiddle dropped down dead of a heart attack aged 46. ATB, Trevor
  18. Had a fab day out in London village thank you, cleaner than I can remember and cheaper, although after living in Guildford anywhere is cheaper . And the XKR ran like a dream. Going again next Friday to see some music, just hope I can get my ears syringed by then ! This was my daughter receiving her doctorate . ATB, Trevor
  19. I have a 2012 XKR and I find the Sat nav excellent. I haven't had any problems whatsoever . It is Europe 2012 -2013 Jag part No: 6W83-10E898-AJ Denso part no: 104642-8190 There are two discs about 11 GB each disc, and they are genuine Jaguar issue. ATB, Trevor
  20. Chris, Have a fab time, sounds wonderful . ATB, trevor
  21. Peter, At least you know which way to head with the caravan, all credit to you. Also " as we drove gingerly through the crowd." could have been put better if you want to get out alive ATB, Trevor
  22. Chris, Same here. Wife moaned about the XJ Supersport, so I got the XKR, which after an initial moan she now loves it. Went to London village and back from Devon yesterday, It averaged 30MPG, which isn't bad for a 5 litre supercharged engine, it ran like a dream also. ATB, trevor
  23. Chris, Welcome. You change Jags as often as me, it's good fun though isn't it? The car looks fab. ATB, Trevor
  24. Mike, It is extremely low (it panics the doctor, especially after my flat lining). And here's another gripe young man. Going to London village tomorrow for the first time in 30 years to see my daughter awarded her doctorate at the Barbican centre . I pay £475 a year road tax . They are charging me: £11-50 congestion charge £12-50 to park there for four hours £25 to get in to see my daughter her her award . But on the plus side I can open up the taps on the A 303 early doors ATB, Trevor P.S. Don't t take me too seriously
