Karl, Don't give them any more ammunition, they already think we're a load of dimes in Devon . Also when it comes to parts Jaguar are the last peeps you want to be buying them off . ATB, Trevor
-
Jim, Doesn't she know of an apprentice mechanic who could get the car up to spec so it can be sold at a decent price? They could both make a few bob then. ATB, Trevor
-
Peter, It will be a brilliant car for someone. I just hope the lady gets a fair price. ATB, Trevor
-
Peter, I agree with you, if I had the space and time I would certainly have it. I think the price you suggest is not out of order, as to all intensive purposes it is nearly a "new" car . I would rather give it away then sell it to a trader for £500- £1000 ! ATB, Trevor
-
Chris, I think Steve sends out the stickers if you PM him . And they certainly do add a few BHP's . ATB, Trevor

Jim, This is what he said, not very encouraging I'm afraid . " Sounds like a nice car but valuations are a little hard – does it start and move? i imagine she’s having offers between £500 and £1000? I’d love to say it’s worth drastically more but I think given the work needed it would be difficult. What offers have you been getting? " ATB, Trevor
-
Jim . Just having a look on Autotrader. and that year doesn't seem to bring very much, less then £2000 at best . But with such a low mileage the car is hardly used, I would suggest she bides her time and sells it privately . I shall burst of an email to my friendly salesman and see what he thinks and get back to you . ATB, Trevor
-
Chris Welcome and I hope you enjoy the club, the Jag looks fab, and I'm sure you'll enjoy driving it . The tow bar would be even even less noticeable if you removed it ( just jesting). If you have any problems there is usually someone at hand to help you sort them . The only thing the car is missing is a club sticker! ATB, Trevor

Charlie, Women and cars don't seem to match, if mine whines I just stop at a bus stop and tell her her choices . The "silent treatment" you lucky so and so !, mine just doesn't shut up (it's part of her illness), she talks so much that her tongue blisters (really) and it's the part of her that gets sun burnt easiest . You would win if you told her who was boss Charlie ! ATB, Trevor ATB, Trevor

Peter, All the ones you said, plus : Dealerships with their overpricing and downright lies People who indicate a sixteenth of an inch away from a corner People who park right up your backside Tractors Buses Lorries Caravans Horses (what are fields for ? ) Passengers who fidget Passengers who won't shut up Paying to park My extortionate road tax People who don't dip their headlights People in front of you who get petrol then take an eternity to pay The dog in the car General bad road manners Remarks from the great unwashed such as: " How can you afford a car like that? " " I bet the insurance is dear on that " " My VW Golf devil's fuel does 130 MPG" " It is just a poor mans Aston Martin" People who don't realise i'm always right Just people really . People who take me too serioulsy ATB, Trevor

Dan, With out appearing to seem rude, Adrian Flux don't appear to be very competitive full stop. Although I think you could have offered Charlie a discount as he is Scottish ! ATB, Trevor

Peter, What is more worrying is that you were in Wales ! My mother, and the wife's mother both carried tin openers in their handbags, as well as clothes lines. You are probably just left handed ATB, Trevor -

Peter, The wife said she is willing to ride tandem down Porlock Hill with you, and that anyone who gets done for speeding on a Tandem must be as bonkers as she is!. I think you must be her new best friend, I shall post her up to you! ATB, Trevor -

Peter, Not sure, but I think Exmoor is the smallest national park in the country, but with my heart it is big enough, still cracking walks though, and it is on the doorstep. ATB, Trevor -

Peter, It is the narrowness of the roads that catches them out , and I think they all should be made to take test before they're allowed to tow them, then make them head even further north towards the Lake District . The northerners don't spend that much down here ( most of them live here anyhow) their social doesn't spread that far . Think you are correct about the road tax, it was just Charlie getting overexcited about independence that he's becoming a tad befuddled . Off over Exmoor now. ATB, Trevor P.S tell Charlie that Exmoor is BMW free -

Charlie, Think you probably dreamt that when you were day dreaming the other day when you were forced out shopping with the wife . I've never noticed any particular make of driver being any worse than any other . The only BMW's we see down this way are the ones the scouse have nicked, the Devon lot are still on horseback . Where driving does become a pain is in Summer. Some of the holidaymakers (Grockles) are taken aback just how small some of out dirt tracks that pass as roads are . I try and avoid these lanes like the plague during the holiday season for two reasons. 1: Caravans! what a joy to be stuck behind one of these, we build them decent hotels and holiday camps, but yet they insist on pretending they can tow the things, hence clogging up our roads . 2: The Highway code followed to the letter: In Section 17, sub section 3, it states " Whilst in Devon it is against the law for any woman to attempt to reverse under any circumstances whilst driving down a narrow lane. It is a lot easier to make the other vehicle reverse a 100 yards (preferably uphill)" . On the plus side, having a fast car I can overtake in the blink of an eyelid (providing the fields aren't too muddy) ATB, Trevor -
Charlie, I use these, always found them ok . Adrian Flux is well expensive . Peter says Swiftcover is also excellent, but they won' t quote me as I haven't a tracking system ( it doesn't work down this way). https://www.endsleigh.co.uk/personal/motor-insurance/car-insurance/ ATB, Trevor

Charlie, Had the same thing when I went to Somerset last week, quite a crowd gathered around the car as I drew up outside a shop to pick the wife up, don't think it was anything to do with the Jag, more like it's the first time they've seen a car ! Taking it down my favourite road early morning shortly, The A303, one can really open up the taps there ! The Devon lot just skin the visitors over the Devon cream teas, they don't eat it themselves . Also, I never eat when I'm out ATB, Trevor -

Charlie, Don't get me started on the unfairness of road tax, but just get one Andrew, you won't regret it, they're even letting the Scots drive them. It is the sensible person's Aston Martin, in case you get any digs ! ATB, Trevor -
Peter, One thing I will give you northerners credit for is a good sense of humour (apart from john Bishop and Peter Kay): Yorkshire unveils a grand welcome for the Tour De France cyclists ATB, Trevor

Peter, The XJ's are going to be made in India, the Aston Martins are made just up the road from there at Gaydon, but only cremation would improve them. The BMW's aren't too bad, but not as good as the Jag . But at least Led Zep came from up that way !. Thought about the F type, but the 5 litre ones were brand new , all they had really were the ones with the dinky toy engines at a reasonable price, also I thought they were too small inside, and I preferred the look of the XKR , so got that. Might have another look next year when you can buy the F type R at a low mileage. ATB, Trevor P,S, Peter, 97,76% of brummies live in Ilfracombe, a brummie train driver has a holiday home opposite me, he seems a good lad, but I have to get him to write everything down as he doesn't speak English ATB, Trevor

Peter, It is the men who do everything in this country, the women are just here to make sure we don't live too long . ATB, Trevor P.S. Used to live just round the corner from Farnborough and use.d to love going to the air show, and my dad used to take me to St Athens when I was a little boy. These days I go to Yeovilton
