  1. Philip , Welcome, give it some stick young man, let all the horses loose ! ATB, Trevor
  2. Tomas, I think I should mention in reply for it being too hot for Peter, to put things in perspective they still have snow on the ground this time of year up North where he lives . Am I right in thinking that the Jags didn't have too good a reputation in the USA when they were owned by Ford ? My American son in law loves my XKR by the way . ATB, Trevor
  3. Tomas, Nice one, I have an American son in law, he and my daughter are at present over from San Francisco to go to Glastonbury. ATB, Trevor P.S. I suppose you call them Jagwars now?
  4. Stephen, I don't even know what an electronic toll tag is,I'm in Devon, we don't even know what electric is ! so I'm afraid I can't help . ATB, Trevor
  5. James, Don't know what to suggest then, thank goodness I have a USB port . The only other suggestion I can think of is that you can link up your MP3 player to use a radio channel via a radio transmitter which you can get quite cheaply . This sort of thing (there are loads of different types, even Tesco sell them ) http://www.amazon.co.uk/HDE-Player-Transmitter-Remote-Charger-Black/dp/B00EOUQ5QA/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1403676541&sr=8-13&keywords=mp3+radio+transmitter ATB, Trevor
  6. Stephen, The XFR is fab, borrowed a XFR-S myself when the garage mangled my Aston, nearly bought it but the stealership got too greedy and the extra you pay over the XFR isn't really worth it. I now have an XKR which I like a great deal, on short trips the XFR will probably do about 18 mpg and on a decent motorway run with the cruise control you should get 30MPG . I would say an average of about 23MPG wouldn't be to far off the mark. ATB, Trevor
  7. Tomas, Welcome, if you need any help just ask, there are people who can usually get things sorted here. Which Newport are you from, is it the one near Risca where I used to live as a child? ATB, Trevor
  8. Peter, Glastonbury is muddy every year, taking the kids to buy some wellies today. Can't understand why they want to go, and come all the way From San Francisco. Used to go years ago when it was free and wasn't the trendy thing to do . It is far too crowded these days, and people just go to say they've been to Glastonbury, it is the biggest gathering of Iphone users in the world. We have a far better festival in Devon called "Beautiful Days", but getting soaked isn't my scene anymore . ATB, Trevor
  9. Charlie, What is happening tomorrow afternoon young man ? My American son in law who is over for Glastonbury remarked on the amount of diesel vehicles on the road over here . ATB, Trevor
  10. James, Try disconnecting the battery with the RADIO off and try to see if this will reset the stack? Or Try unplugging the 2 cables (one the fibre 'ring', the other the power unit). Give it a minute, and plug them back in. Or Hold AM/FM and EJECT then release both and press EJECT and MIX at the same time. Keep pressing EJECT and MIX til it cycles through the audio network (MAIN, AMP, NAV, PHONE, CDC). ATB, Trevor
  11. Chartlie, Don't drink or smoke since the heart attack, but they all enjoyed themselves at Damien Hirst's restaurant whilst i had a few orange juices and didn't bother eating . My American son in law loved the XKR and said it was the best car he'd ever seen, took him for a quick spin and he thought it was fab . He used to ski for America until he got cancer of the plums . Will go and see some music tonight instead. ATB, Trevor
  12. Charlie, Daughter and her hubby have just turned up from fatland, they're over for Glastonbury and they want to go to Damien Hirst's restaurant , so I'll take them and the wife. I won't eat myself as I never get hungry, and food is for whooses anyhow, and since the heart attack I'm on a low fat, low salt, low sugar diet, so I build all my own food . i was going to see a band, but never mind . What is Russian water please ? I have a reverse osmosis unit for the marine fish, that turns out pucker water . ATB, Trevor
  13. Charlie, Stop poncing about and get an XKR with active exhaust , put it in Dynamic mode and you will hear the difference then, Peter did and he lives 200 miles away! Or try something like this: http://www.spires-st.com/index.php/spires-shop/spires-jaguar-products/xk-r/xkr-sportsexhaust ATB, Trevor
  14. Charlie, Boy racer stylee, chavtastic ! ATB, Trevor
  15. Charlie, Found this "It is fuse 19 in the fuse box between the rear seats but it's only the XKR that has a fully active exhaust the XK uses a semi active system and as far as I know it's the pressure in the exhaust that opens the valves so unless it's an R you might be out of luck." On mine it is Fuse 19 in the passenger compartment fuse box, for the exhaust (10 amp and red), and Fuse 19 ( 5 amp and tan colour) in the rear compartment fuse box for the Ariel Don't remove any fuses from the engine compartment fuse box ATB, Trevor
  16. Liam, Well it is the wrong side of the Thames ! ATB, Trevor
  17. Adam, Dynamic mode should have a Chequered flag next to a button near the gear selector it if you have it , mine has an active exhaust which comes into play when in this mode, it sounds like Concorde , but a least the dog know when I'm home ! ATB, Trevor
  18. Adam , Welcome. Have recently bought a XKR myself, and like it a great deal, used to work out in the sand myself before the wife captured me, Libya . My XKR: http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/gallery/album/129-jaguar-xkr-2012/ ATB, Trevor
  19. Adam, Welcome, the XKR is fab isn't it?. My XKR goes back into auto when in sport mode by pulling back the right hand hand paddle shift for two seconds . Does yours have "Dynamic mode" ( the Aston Martin eater) this is fully controlled by the paddle shfits, and is great fun ! Peter, there is nothing easier than using the paddle shift , I was very wary at first, but they are fab ATB, Trevor
  20. Colin, Think it looks something like this young man ATB, Trevor
  21. Colin, Don't know where to add it but I'm sure there must be a reservoir under the bonnet somewhere. A Beatles fan Eh? I have had two big disappointments in my life . The first one; I used to be a big Beatles fan myself, until I saw them, what a let down, they just could not hack it live, and I find their songs more like nursery rhymes . The second one, and more recent, owning an Aston Martin, what an overpriced, overrated badly built antiquated heap of junk they are. Give me a Jag any day of the week ! ATB, Trevor
  22. Colin, There's a power steering fluid additive that supposedly addresses the squeak issue . You could try this: http://www.xjkltd.co.uk/p/jaguar-power-steering-adhitive-c2s48887-846.html Other than that slap some Hendrix on and turn up the volume, if we can hear it in Devon, you won;t hear the squeak! ATB, Trevor
  23. Stu, Found this, don't know it it's of any help, but I hope so . " the only way to reset the valet button is to open the boot manually with the key. Stick the key in the little hole between the X and the K on the rear panel label. There is a hole for it, it is hard to see. This will reset your buttons and open your boot, and reset valet mode" There might also be a switch in the glove compartment . ATB, Trevor
  24. Kantilal, How about this ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XXL-SIZE-Full-Car-Cover-For-JAGUAR-XF-XJ-/171344221257?pt=UK_Car_Exterior_Accessories&hash=item27e4e95449 Or this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jaguar-Series-FULL-OUTSIDE-COVER/dp/B004URK3VU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402637706&sr=8-1&keywords=jaguar+xf+car+cover Or this http://www.amazon.co.uk/JAGUAR-WATER-RESISTANT-OUTSIDE-COVER/dp/B00FG8BXPM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402637706&sr=8-2& keywords=jaguar+xf+car+cover There are dearer ones also, but I presumed you didn't want to pay a fortune. ATB, Trevor
  25. Richard, Welcome, hope you enjoy the forum, there is usually somebody on here that has an insight to whatever problem might pop up . My daughter who lives in San Francisco is coming back to the UK next week for the Glasonbury music festival , and my American son in law is looking forward to a trip over the moors in my XKR. ATB, Trevor
