  1. Richard, I used to have to drive through Bisley every day to work when I lived in civilistation, and past the posh toy shop ( since moved) http://www.romansinternational.com/ These days the wife just frightens off any would be intruders . But I agree that all trespassers should be shot . ATB, Trevor P.S. has you XF got a little leaper etched into the headlight (the frosted bit in the corner) ?
  2. Peter, It is no surprise so many of the people from up there have moved down here then really . Actually ran away to Coventry with the wife in 1979, the less said about the place the bettr Most of the businesses in Ilfracombe are run by Midlanders . And the scouse seem to relish being on the dole at the seaside. ATB, Trevor
  3. Peter, Are you the tourist officer for the north .Is it really that bad up there ? I never lock my doors, day or night? ATB, Trevor
  4. Ricahrd, Do not panic young man, the car will be safe . ATB, Trevor
  5. Richard, It could be a wheel sensor that has become disconnected . Also there are a number of OBD II codes that will disable the cruise control . Can you borrow a code scanner to check these ( they are about £25 on Ebay, a lot cheaper than the garage doing it) ? Welcome to the club by the way. ATB,, Trevor
  6. Richard, My XKR cannot be started unless the key is inside the car , and you have to be really close before the doors or boot can be opened. I really like keyless entry , my last six cars have had it and I've never had any problems . So I wouldn't be too bothered about your car being insecure at night, unless there is something about Essex you're not telling us about . Down here in Devon they're more interested in stealing sheep anyhow. ATB, Trevor
  7. Just noticed this little leaper etched into the headlights of my XKR Subtle or what ? ! ATB, Trevor (I've got etchings)
  8. Stephen, welcome . Hope you enjoy the forum, if you need any help just ask. The Jag looks fab, love the colour . Please tell me the house with the solar panels isn't yours . ATB, Trevor
  9. Peter, Very good idea. but I was only mischief making as I was with my idea of taxing right handed people ATB, Trevor
  10. Peter, we have poor public transport down here, I'll tell the powers to be what you suggested . Also those peeps with dinky toy engines don't actually buy a lot of petrol, so your argument could be turned around Put the road tax on fuel at the pumps, it's the logical way . Also as we drive British cars we should get concessions. ATB, Trevor
  11. Peter, I think it should be done on mileage, just seems fair to me. Although I have a five litre car I might just use it once a week, whilst the neighbour might have a one litre which he uses every day. I have to pay £475, him about £160, doesn't seem fair to me. ATB, Trevor
  12. Peter, You are correct, forgot about the start of the month, wait until Monday Richard, but don't get me going on road fund licence, I don't see why I should have to pay more, it should be done on mileage ATB, Trevor
  13. Richard, most of us on here tend to avoid dealers like the plague and use independents. Must admit I bought my XKR through a Jag dealer last week but I certainly won't get it serviced there as they overcharge and I don;t trust them. Tell them Thursday will do fine, no reason why they can't have it ready by then, the car sounds fab i'm sure you'll love it. ATB, Trevor
  14. Peter, Go and get one, they're dead cool ! ATB, Trevor
  15. Peter, I've had no troubles whatsoever with my XJ Supersport and recently acquired XKR. both fantastic cars! , as i've said previously, better than my BMW's and Aston Martins, what I like was everything was so logical in their operation, you would not have to read the handbook for six months. I cannot imagine me owning another make of car. ATB, Trevor
  16. Mick, Glad you got it sorted, don't get me started about music, I am obsessed according to the wife and daughters , I'm also a retired music researcher. Took the XKR out for a spin over Exmoor yesterday, to a place called Withypool in Somerset . Got a lot of compliments and questions about the car, I don't think it was because it was a Jag, but more likely it is the first time they had seen a car ! Mind you the petrol was cheap, I got five gallons for a pound . Although the bridge could do with updating, it was murder to cross ! ATB, Trevor
  17. Julian, Although you probably need headlights on all the time up norf as it only gets light for a bout twenty minutes a year ,I agree with your sentiments on daylight running lights and lighting in general. That is one drawback with auto headlights , the mist and fog . I now have an XKR, and to enable daylight running lights you have to turn the rotary control from "Auto" to "off" to make them switch on automatically . You would think they would come on with the control set to "Auto" ATB, Trevor
  18. My XKR has 20" wheels, so goodness knows how much a spacesaver and jack would cost( there is room for one) I also have one of those terrible glue/compressor things . If I have a puncture I shall just call Jaguar breakdown . ATB, Trevor
  19. Keith, Go and get it now and stop dithering young man ! ATB, Trevor
  20. Mick, the wife's phone paired with my XKR ok, think it's some Samsung thing, I don't have anything to do with them. Just have music in my car ATB, Trevor
  21. Peter, Good morning ! I'm always up early doors and take the wife's dog out for a long walk. ATB, Trevor
  22. Mick, Been trawling through various forums and some peeps seem to have trouble with HTC and Vodophone software . I seems to take several attempts to pair up. " It took several attempts to pair with the car. After 3 attempts (offering the same 4 digit key) a different key was displayed, which enabled a successful pairing." Or get a teenager to do it might be the best way. Personally I can't stand the things and don't have one. ATB, Trevor
  23. Peter, Welcome, Hope you enjoy the club, they are a friendly bunch , if you need any help just ask. ATB, Trevor
  24. Tony , welcome, the car sounds a cracker you'll have to upload some pics . ATB, Trevor
  25. Peter, Well done, what was your prize, a new white cap? Don't think mine would win any prizes, but it has got special paint work, it is a metallic kyanite blue, if you look closely it has little metal flakes in it , which looks rather nice. ATB Trevor
