  1. Charlie, I think it is because you northern peeps have weird tastes, after all you do eat tripe! mind you here in Devon the eat seaweed She is still pestering though ! ATB, Trevor (there are worst things in life than complaining about getting jags)
  2. Peter, What's wrong with a red car? us southerners can drive you know, and there is less theft down here. better than a black one, they get dirty just looking at them. She is still going on about it. ATB, Trevor
  3. Charles, She is still in full flow pestering, she has spotted this one where her dad lives. http://www.hafoxjaguar.co.uk/used-car-search/vehicle.aspx?id=OV12OHB And this one not far from us. http://www.hafoxjaguar.co.uk/used-car-search/vehicle.aspx?id=OU13YNK I have got to take 'er to the dentist Tuesday to get some wisdom teeth put in ATB, Trevor (getting greyer by the minute)
  4. No to the caravan, we hate them down here in ther West country . A Vauxhall ? , and a diesel ! ,do you still have the XK ? Mine is still pestering about getting one, said we can use her fathers to take him out in when we go down to civilsation in Guildford . And people wonder why I had a heart attack and have grey hair. I think i'll run of to the Isle of Man with Kylie Minogue. ATB, Trevor
  5. Welcome Ian. Don't really know the answer to your problem but I'm sure someone will come along shortly that does . I don't know if this website is of any help, but it might be worth a look . http://jaguarclimatecontrol.com/diagnose/ ATB, Trevor
  6. Would this company be of any help ? http://www.satnav-update.com/jaguar-15-c.asp Or this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/jaguar-sat-nav-dvd ATB, Trevor
  7. Charlie, Mine really is bonkers, she is manic depressive and does not know the value of money . It used to be a standing joke that she bought me a convertible for my birthday each year . She got me a new BMW 335 M sports convertible , a new BMW M3 convertible, a four year old Aston Martin DB9 Volante, and a four year old Aston Martin DB9 Le Mans Special, and then The Jag XJ supersport ; and this has been in the last three and a half years . She said she wanted to buy me a Jag F type R for this years birthday , but I have put a stop to all this for this year at the very least. I am writing this from a cave ! ATB, Trevor P.S. I changed my name to Hendrix by deed poll just to confuse her ( really)
  8. Excellent Richard ! ATB, Trevor
  9. Charles, Have passed on your thoughts and comments to she who must be obeyed, and she agrees with you and me ( we shall have snow) . She now thinks the XJ Supersport isn't that bad after all, and said she will "make do" until the warranty runs out and her father is too old to come out in the car with us ( he is 88 and active and lives 200 miles away in civilisation) . She claims she just had a funny turn yesterday , and is the first to admit she is bonkers (she really is, and calls herself Princess Marcie of Ilfracombe) . Even though I an retired myself I shall keep the Supersport for the time being , and some cash in my back pocket ! ATB, Trevor (F type R and XK-R Free)
  10. Karl. Six litres seems to be about right . Have bettered Peter's offer for your first born ! ATB, Trevor
  11. Charles, The annoying thing is all the time I had the Astons the wife complained about the lack of space , and had gone on and on and on (like they do) about four seats and four doors, finally get one and she whines that she prefers a sports car. The XK I looked at was fab, but mine plus £32K is a lot of money and I still have house repairs to do , and I like to have a bit put by for emergencies . She says the Supersport is ugly, whilst I must admit I prefer the look of the old Jags, other people seem to like mine, and it is a good car, so all in all, I think i'll keep it for the time being. After all, as I said to her, there are worse cars to have ! ATB , ( a pestered) Trevor
  12. Adrian flux wouldn't quote me unless I phoned, so I won't bother. Test drove the new F type Coupe R today, not as nice as I thought it would be, also drove a new XK-R loaded with spec. much preferred it, the wife says she wants a sports car again now, but I will probably stick with the Supersport . ATB Trevor
  13. Take a look at the battery, as strange as it sounds these electrical faults tend to happen when the battery is on it's way out. ATB, Trevor
  14. William, I know it sounds silly, but is your battery ok ? these problems seem to start occurring when the battery is on it's way out , it might be worth trying an alternative one to see if it makes any difference . or you could try some of these suggestions : http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x350-x358-xj6-xj8-xjr-28/shift-lever-stuck-park-85682/ ATB, Trevor
  15. Peter, Mine is £225 with Endsleigh on the 2012 Supersport which is 5 litre and 510 BHP. Tried supercover which was mentioned on another post. but they would not quote me as I didn't have a tracker fitted . I cannot use a tracker as it works on the mobile phone system and the coverage isn't very good down here in the sticks, and the signal would drop in and out, triggering loads of false alarms . Will get a quote from the jag insurance above, just out of interest . ATB, Trevor
  16. Mick, Chavstastick ! and I though I was bad with my union jack dust caps . ATB, Trevor
  17. Michael, Welcome to the club, the car looks fab, still prefer your shape to mine . ATB, Trevor ( Ex Lancastrian )
  18. Peter, Been told by various mechanics not to use supermarket fuel as it is inferior, so for the sake of a few pence I don't, not that i'd do a 34 mile round trip to the nearest one that does it. Don't really bother about MPG, but in comparison to the Aston the Supersport is frugal ! My daughter lives in Croydon for reasons only known to her, after being brought up on the edge of Exmoor , think it might have something to do with her in laws being multi millionaires , who live at the bottom of her garden. Croydon is shocking ! when I go down I make them drive to Guildford to met us, and she drives a Ford Focus, which is not very fitting for a Doctor ! ATB, Trevor
  19. Stan, As a general rule "North" is north of the Thames, or the M 25, when the boundries are redrawn later in the year it will be north of the River Avon. You are probably right about "Twerk" though ATB, Trevor P.S., was up North in Leicester week before last to see some music, cracking football ground, was well impressed !
  20. Peter, It was the same when I was driving up North the Thursday before good Friday , the M5 was more like a car park ! Why on earth would you want to go to Brent Cross anyhow young Man? , and I thought Brockley was a vegetable ! ATB, Trevor
  21. Peter, All you Northerners are strange x ATB, Trevor
  22. Welcome Nigel, The car looks fab, and also, uoui can't beat a spot of lurking ATB, Trevor ( South West Lurking Champion)
  23. Welcome Mrk, I'm sure you will enjoy the Jag, any problems just ask, there is usually someone around with an answer. ATB, Trevor
  24. Charles, " A neat little feature is the ability to put the onboard computer into Valet mode. Should you need to hand the keys over to a complete stranger, just select an easy-to-remember four-digit password, and it renders the touch screen useless until the correct code has been reentered; just an extra security measure should you want to keep stored information, such as your home address, private." Taken from this review of your car: http://www.roadandtrack.com/boot/long-term-tests/2007-jaguar-xk-coupe ATB, Trevor
  25. It sounds like the O2 sensor (oxygen sensor) has gone wrong again . Here's how to fix it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km9CPNYvZJc Are any of these links any use to you? http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2053587.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xjaguar+x+type+o2+sensor&_nkw=jaguar+x+type+o2+sensor&_sacat=0&_from=R40 ATB, Trevor ( Ex Guildford resident)
