  1. Peter, I will be doing the same thing in February next year, so keep me updated please, who are you with now so I can avoid them if you're not happy with them? I was thinking of going with the RAC. I would have liked to stop with Jaguar Assistance , but they don't do it separately , only if you extend the warranty, and they want £1200 for that!, so obvioulsy i'll be looking round also. ATB, Trevor
  2. Stan, You will be known has "Stan the Ban" if you go upsetting Peter by doing him out of his commission , he only lives just down the road from you, and is probably letting the digs loose as we speak ! ATB, Trevor
  3. Steve, Re my post above, looking back and knowing what I know now, I really wish I had bought the XK over the Aston Martin DB9, is is a superior car in every way, and a darn sight cheaper, but you live and learn. ATB, Trevor
  4. Mathew, Peter will be along shortly to advise you which one to buy, we all think he has shares in the things ! I think he recommends people to get them on ebay , the one he suggests is a lot cheaper than £150, about £25 I think. This will give you a rough idea, But Peter will tell you exactly which one is best . http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=jaguar+OBD2+scanner+tool&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xjaguar+Universal+code+scanner+D900%2F2013&_nkw=jaguar+Universal+code+scanner+D900%2F2013&_sacat=0 ATB, Trevor
  5. Charles, Really like the XK , but I can see their reasoning; I think the F Type Coupe when it released shortly, is going to blow most things out of the water . Was planning on getting one, but repairs to the house after the storms have put my plans back for this year . Just wished I'd hung on and not wasted a load of money on the Aston Martin DB9's I had , the most overpriced and overrated cars ever . But my Supersport is fine, and there's always next year (weather permitting !) . ATB, Trevor
  6. Welcome Andrew, You will find peeps a friendly bunch on here and willing to help you if they can. I have a 2112 XJ Supersports which used to belong to one of the directors of Jag. I'm surprised to hear of your problems, none of which I have encountered , I would go as far as to say the Jaaaag is the best car I have ever owned , far better than my previous cars which have included Astons and BMW's . I think your problems are only minor, which you will get sorted no doubt, and will continue to enjoy the Jaaag . Which part of Hampshire are you from? I used to live in Alton ATB, Trevor
  7. Del, The amount of water we've had down this way I think we'd be better off with submarines ! ATB, Trevor
  8. Del, Came across this, hope it helps . http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-17/how-cleaning-wheel-speed-sensors-faq-37434/ ATB, Trevor
  9. Can hardly call them British Peter, they're Indian owned, and they're going to build the XJ's in India ATB, Trevor
  10. PM Dave has one like mine, but not the Supersport ATB, Trevor
  11. Peter, Got my sticker on the barge ! ATB, Trevor
  12. Do you have low profile tyres at all, as these can sometimes cause problems at low speeds ? or it might be a problem with the ATF heat exchanger in the radiator. ATB, Trevor

  16. We don't have Pound shops down here in the South Peter, would they sell the batteries in Waitrose ? ATB, Trevor (coming upT' North shortly, flat cap at the ready )
  17. Oy! , I've got 19" wheels and privacy glass, so you reckon I'll be getting the call form Top Gear next ? ATB, Trevor
  18. Try this June . Try spraying some WD 40 inside each door latch as this can free up a sticking switch. Also go to the GEM module ( Generic Electronic Module) under the corner dash and check to make sure all the electrical connections to make sure they are clean and secure. ATB, Trevor
  19. Welcome Carl, Feel free to ask any questions that might crop up, they are a helpful bunch here . ATB, Trevor
  20. I said, " I thought we were here to enjoy ourselves, or have I got the concept wrong?" I have ordered my cloth cap from Amazon for when I come up T' North to Leicester next month ATB, Trevor
  21. Mick, It takes all types, and most need to be ignored ; I was even told off for hand jiving at a Nigel Kennedy concert last night in Guildford. The Jaaag ran like a dream there and back though . ATB, Trevor (the bewildered one )
  22. Welcome Martin . ATB, Trevor
