One is indeed into Jimi Hendrix, my daughter wouldn't call the granddaughter Hendrix, so what was I supposed to do? ATB, Trevor (the old one) -

She has just got a Phd in psychiatry specialising in eating disorders in the young , she got a 2:1 in cognitive neuropsychology and neuroscience at Oxford. She writes books and lectures round the country and stuff and is extremely clever, but can get a tad serious. but I'll change that , I'm taking her out to some live gigs in the Autumn . And she actually approves of me changing my christian name (my welsh one ) to Hendrix by deed poll, so she is coming round ! ATB, Trevor (the old one) -

No, she is a Doctor of Philosophy , she was discussing a case of a young girl who committed suicide after being on one of the social network sites . ATB, Trevor (the old one) -

So they stick on the outside ?, thought it was the inside, hadn't put mine on as the glass it tinted , I shall do so as soon as the tide has stopped coming down. ATB, Trevor (the old one) -
Peter, What is that little gadget please? looks well worth looking into even if just for peace of mind . Any spare wheel is better than a tin of gunk, and you are always likely to get a puncture on the cart tracks that pass for roads in Devon . ATB, Trevor

Peter, Sounds a good idea, but at least the Jag has a spare wheel, which my last four cars didn't. They had that compressor thing with a tin of gunk which I hated, and thankfully didn't have to use . But don't you think that putting the battery in an electrically operated boot is a dreadful oversight on a car that cost over £92 new? If Jaguar are thinking of a recall to remedy the problem I had better hold my tongue when the stealership pester me next, but I suppose I could always take it to a different one. ATB, Trevor

There is a button, but it's electrically operated . so if the battery is flat the only way to open it is how I have explained above , it cannot be mechanically operated . Quote from another site " No keyhole, just push button electrically open and close. Not good if the battery is flat and located in the boot. Bit of an oversight by Jaguar that one!!" ATB, Trevor

No there isn't unfortunately Peter , also there isn't any overhang . i think it's just something the Indian chappies at TATA are teasing me with ATB, Trevor

On mine I have to take enter the passenger door with the emergency key inside the key fob, open the bonnet, take the fuse box cover off , there is a metal prong, I have to get a battery charger, connect the positive to it, and the negative to somewhere on the body . this will give enough power for the key to open the boot and get the battery put . yours seems a far better idea David. ATB, Trevor

My battery is a right so and so to get out if it fails, it's in the boot, and the boot is electrically operated without a key entry . But hopefully I will get a warning before it ever gets that bad . ATB, Trevor

Peter, Just thought you would be interested in a screen shot of my sat nav taken in Devon ATB, Trevor

Dan, I enquired about a leaper and was told not to by a magistrate (on this site), so I wouldn't tempt fate. Not sure about the front grille, but I think your car looks very nice the way it is ,Ii prefer the more rounded shape to the shape of mine, although I am getting used to it. Can't help you with the other questions I'm afraid, but no doubt someone will be along shortly who can . It does look a very nice car, and I hope you will continue to be pleased with it. ATB, Trevor

Peter, They seem a handy tool to keep in your boot, could you give a link to the sort of thing you mean please, and where do you plug them in? ATB, Trevor
-
Peter, Don't the cobbles streets slow things down a bit though? ATB, Trevor (The old one)

David, Try here, not used them myself, but others have said they're ok. http://www.satnav-update.com/jaguar-15-c.asp ATB, Trevor

David This can be as simple as the battery voltage dropping off, Don't panic just yet it may just need the battery charging or replacing . Or could also just be one of the front ABS leads. These can be changed quite easily. ATB, Trevor

I hope you are using an independent garage John, and not one of the stealerships. The garage where I got the XJ Supersport from claim mine is due for a service, How they can work that out I do not know, as the car has done less than 3k since it was serviced last June. That is just one of a number of issues I have with the dealership, and I will be writing to them tomorrow to tell them I won't be using them again unless I get treated a lot better (and cheaper!) . ATB, Trevor

John, If you get a scanner the list of codes can be downloaded from here : http://www.spobd2.com/service/diagnostic-trouble-code-dtc-table-free-download-38.html ATB, Trevor
-
Aaaaah , but which Trevor, the old one or the sensible one ? Let's hope the problem is solved ATB, Trevor (the old one)
-
It could be something as trivial as tyre pressure, or the vehicle being left for a period of time . You could try to activate the system by braking hard and see if that works . If that doesn't work why not purchase a diagnostic scanner ? ( someone will give you the link for a cheap one on E bay ) it will then give you a code, which in turn should lead to any fault which would cut down on garage bills . We have the scanner codes if you need them . ATB, Trevor

Colin, As Trevor (the younger one) says "Go for it " I have never regretted getting my XJ Supersport for one minute , my only regret was the time and money wasted on the Aston DB9's , still, I've done that now ! in the meantime i am going to resist the urge for the F Type Coupe R.. ATB, Trevor (the ancient one)

Good thinking Trevor, mine wouldn't lock when the bonnet sensor was faulty, whatever it is, it doesn't sound anything major, just needs locating, you could even try cleaning the fuses in case it's a bad connection. ATB, Trevor (the old one)
