  1. I have used Halfords for tyres for a few years. Quit Fit and Formula I ar close and Halfords will always undercut them. Peter.
  2. Hi Ryan, and welcome to the club. I had the same model as you snd found it a great driver's car. And driven nicely on long trips will return about 35 mpg. I hope you enjoy the club as much as you will enjoy your Jaguar. Regards, Peter
  3. Hi Gary, I have the Goodyears on the front and will have them on the rear when the Pirellis need replacing. I found the Goodyears rather quiet. I also used the discount at Halfords buying the same nextbase! Great minds! Regards, Peter.
  4. Welcome to the club, David. Nice car, nice colour. Just enjoy the experience, Regards, Peter.
  5. Used to live there myself, Ryan, for 12 years. Miss the Peak District! Peter.
  6. Hi George and welcome to the club. Peter.
  7. Hi Wat, Having a Jaguar didn't damage my Socialist Credentials -- I got permission from John Prescott! I used to know Glasgow reasonable well in the days of Ravenscraig! Regards, Peter.
  8. Hi Edmund, The Terraclean is an engine and fuel system cleaning process, I had my car done by a mobile mechanic/technician [James Price -- 07949 137 629] with cost being £126. It did make a difference to performance and fuel economy. He operated out of Aldridge/Walsall. He was recommended as the closest by the Terraclean website. I am located in Sutton Coldfield. Regards Peter.
  9. Hi Sharon, and Welcome to the Club. The usual method of curing "Parkbrake Fault" is to disconnect the battery rather than the parkbrake, which allows the ECU to reset. I would suggest that you disconnect the battery for a minute or so, ensuring that the ignition key is in your pocket rather than in the ignition. Make sure you also have your radio code. Then re connect the battery -- the alarm will of off, so click the key fob. The fault should be cured. You will have to follow the instructions in the message centre and reset the clock and the other little bits -- volume and any programmes on the radio you have saved. You will also have to reset the windows as instructed in the owners manual. Let us know how you get on. Regards Peter.
  10. Hi Donald and welcome to the club. There are quite a few Car Breakers in the UK, but I do know that shipping costs can be horrendous. But I do believe that eBay have a USA site which could be off assistance -- I have had some parts from the UK site which have been quite good. Good Luck. Regards, Peter.
  11. Welcome to the Club, Bob. You have two great cars, and the XK is a future classic, as is its predecessors. Finding space down south does seem to be a problem, but I am sure it cam be overcome. I hope you enjoy the club was much as you enjoy your Jaguars. Regards, Peter.
  12. Hi Terry and Welcome to the club. The David Manners Group [Halesowen] does supply genuine Jaguar parts and a 'phone call could assist you. They have a good website and catalogue. Regards Peter.
  13. Hi Joe, and welcome to the club. I assume your x type is a diesel. Tom and Gary have pointed you in the right direction, as exactly the same thing happened to my son's x type 2.0D and it was a split turbo pipe. Hissing noise and no real acceleration exactly the same. Regards, Peter.
  14. Welcome to the club, Andy. The XE is a great car and your model is a real head turner. Enjoy. Regards, Peter.
  15. The Terraclean operator I was referred to is also a mobile service. He has a garage in Walsall, but also runs a mobile service. It was money well spent. Peter.
  16. Hi Andrew, I had my 2.7 D s type terracleanedjust over two years ago and £126 was the price I paid. Peter.
  17. Welcome to the Club, Ian. Great Cars with a great history. Your experiences with Jaguar cars will be invaluable. Regards, Peter.
  18. Welcome to the club, Rob, I hope you will enjoy your Jaguar, and having one at home it will stop you being jealous now when you see one on the road! Regards, Peter.
  19. Welcome to the Club, Edmund. First, let me say that you have a very nice car --- nice colour too. At a guess, I think the issue could well be a fuel one. I have not driven a manual Jaguar for over 3 years, currently having a 2.7 Diesel S type - but as you car picks up better at a slower speed and is OK when it gets going I would suggest a fuel system cleaning additive --- under a tenner -- Diesel Magic, or Wynn's --- that will probably assist. Regards, Peter.
  20. Hi Liam, I had my s.7 Diesel s type terra cleaned about 2 years ago, and I must say it made a real difference both to performance and to economy. Additives are useful and I do use them occasionally -- Wynns diesel cleaner & Diesel Magic are bot good. But I and others have found that a terraclean is worth the money. A neighbour had an issue with his 2.2Diesel x type -- the car would not start when hot, and a dealer quoted £1200 to replace the injectors and glow plugs -- a teraclean service was done and the engine is still performing well. But do try the occasional additive --- and always use Premium Fuel. Regards, Peter.
  21. Welcome to the Club, Steven, The s type is a great car and I think you will really enjoy it. Morgana will be visiting Dorset in a couple of week -- look out for our car! Regards, Peter.
  22. Well one to the Club, Mal, Steve has pointed you in the right direction. Have you got an Owners Manual? If not, it is possible to get one as they are well advertised on the internet. Regards, Peter.
  23. Hi David, Simon has pointed you in the right direction. It is also worth cleaning the sensors - which is a cheap option and also looking at the connections. Regards, Peter.
  24. Welcome to the Club, Dave. I missed your earlier post re the EGR. Some members have blanked it off in the 2.0 litre diesel, and some use either a fuel additive or a cleaner spray, both Wynn's Products. And thanks for that useful and informative post re diesel filling. Regards, Peter. [I used to know that works quite well before I retired]
  25. Hi Franta, I think you can get a small solar powered trickle charger which you can plug in with the solar charger on the dash board. When I had a caravan, it used to sit in undercover storage over the winter months, and I used to take the battery out and share it every 2 or 3 weeks. Regards, Peter.
