  1. Hi Kevin, It would also assist advice if you completed your profile -- year and model of car and location are cute essential. Peter.
  2. Hi Stuart, The short answer is that you will need to follow the reset procedure, unless you know someone with access to the Jaguar OBD system. I have done it 4 times now and am getting quite good at it! Practice makes perfect. Regards, Peter.
  3. My 2007 S type 2.7D costs £295 in Road Tax. My 2005 X type 2.5 Petrol cost the same.
  4. Not quite --- bur always worth a try. I am just wondering how much it will cost to get it on to my drive, Peter.
  5. Hi Michael and welcome to the club. A possible fix could be getting an updated disc -- there are plenty of inexpensive updates available. I got one form SatNav Updates three years ago and it works well. £29. Regards, Peter.
  6. Hi Gavin and welcome to the Club. I would never tell a mechanic what is wrong with a car, and I won't try. But having had three diesels over 8 years I have found that fuel is a big tester, and the fuel system can get a bit mucky. I have used various additives -- Diesel magic is a good one and not expensive. Let us know how you get on. Regards, Peter.
  7. Welcome to the club, Dave. We have the same tastes and similar wallets. There is a topic in the Jaguar owners Lounge which list garages recommended by members which is worth looking at Members in the area might also come up with suggestions. Regards, Peter.
  8. Hi Chris, and Welcome to the club. You could well be right, and I would suggest finding a good garage to have a look at it. The 2.5 AWD is a very good car and well worth getting it right. Regards, Peter.
  9. Hi Wil, and welcome to the club. I am guessing that your car has the 2.7Diesel V6, which is the same engine at the Diesel S Type which I have. If this is so, your car will have a cam belt which should be changed after either 105,000 miles, or 10 years. Regards, Peter. PS. I have just seen a list of fixed prices from Lancaster Jaguar Tamworth which list the cam belt change price at £375 for your model.
  10. Goodwood is in an ideal area for a few days away. Only thirty miles from Brighton, and a meet with other jaguar Owners and watching the participants on the track will be an rather interesting experience. Peter.
  11. The 1955 Blue and White D Type Jaguar the won the 24 hour Le Mans race in 1956 has been sold at RMSothe by's Auction in California for £16.65 millions. Apparently there were four bidders really wanting the car.
  12. Welcome to the club, Mo. You are going to have a very nice car soon - a future classic. I have read your post about the Brighton meet --- just send Steve Sheldon a message that you will be going an he will add you to the list. Regards, Peter.
  13. Welcome to the Club, Graham. The club has quite a few members in your area and you will probably bump into [not literally] some of them occasionally. You are obviously enjoying the Jaguar experience, and I hope you enjoy the club as much. Regards, Peter.
  14. Welcome to the Club, Yashen. What colour is the smoke, as that will be a clue? What engine does your car have, diesel or petrol?. To check out Steve's suggestion, have a look in your coolant reservoir and see if there are traces of oil. It is also possible that it could be a clutch problem. Certainly, the first thing I would do is call out your breakdown service. Regards, Peter.
  15. Hi Russ, Good idea, and I think it would also serve as a meet for those wanting to watch as well as those [younger] members who would take their cars on to the track. Regards, Peter.
  16. Jaguar have raced a 2.7Diesel s type.
  17. A later model diesel can be a very good buy. The tax is lower, too, the same as the pre 2005 plates.
  18. Welcome to the Club, Adam. As well as being a club member you are also a member of that elite group who drive one of the fastest road cars that Jaguar ever built. You will get plenty of advice when needed from some members who are experts on that Model. Meanwhile, enjoy your Jaguar. Regards, Peter.
  19. Welcome to the club, Laurynas, When I got my first Jaguar, the salesman told me that I would never drive another make of car. I think it is true. The Jaguar experience is too good to miss! I hope you will enjoy the club, and share your experiences. Regards, Peter.
  20. Welcome to the club, Kevin. It would be a treat for members to see some pictures of your older cars. Your experiences with Jaguars will be very useful to the Club. Regards, Peter.
  21. Hi Steve, and welcome to the Club. The water pump on my S Type 2.7D [07 failed a couple of weeks of weeks ago. The replacement cost £70 and my mobile mechanic fitted it -- Total £150. Look out for a good garage rather than going go to a main dealer. Regards, Peter.
  22. Hi Steve, and welcome to the club. I don't know how the XF will tow a Caravan, but there is a member with a 2.7D s type who tows and gets a good fuel return too. I hope you will enjoy the club as well as your Jaguar. Regards Peter.
  23. Welcome to the Club, Clifford. Did you get a warranty with your car? It might be worth going back to the dealer and seeing if he can fix it. I have only once had a Air Con problem and a regaling cured it. Members do share experiences and you will certainly get some advice from those who have had the same problem. Regards, Peter.
  24. Quite interesting, Brian. I did put in a Nextbase Dash cam eventually and was able to avoid the trailing lead as it came with a long lead which I was able to slide in behind the trim and take it down to the power source in the armrest. It works fine. Regards Peter.
  25. Thanks, David. Now on the list of things to know! Regards, Peter.
