  1. Hi Mike, I am 82 tomorrow and I don't consider myself old. I wanted an S type since I saw my mate refurbishing a Mk1 in the sixties. This is my second Jaguar and I think it is great. Regards, Peter.
  2. Hi Mark, You have the same model as I do - with the same interior. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the S type over the past three years and I think you will too. I hope you enjoy the club, too. Regards, Peter.
  3. Welcome to the club, Mike. You won't regret your acquisition. The X Type is a nice car and very well equipped. Regards, Peter.
  4. Welcome to the Club, Billy. Just add to what Joe has said, when you do the reset, just wait for the rather quiet "Click" Regards, Peter.
  5. I will send you a PM, Roger.
  6. Hi Kevan, Just go into Forums [top left[ and then scroll down to Jaguar General and post it on there. Regards Peter.
  7. Welcome to the Club, Kevan. Your experience will be very useful. Could you put your website on the Jaguar General Forum, where you will see other websites/topics that are similar. Regards, Peter.
  8. Got to start somewhere, Roger.
  9. Hi Roger, We do not have a members magazine at the moment, but I think it is a good idea. You could email Steve Barnes [Admin] ---- steve@jaguarownersclub.com I am sure that Steve will also think highly of the idea. Regards, Peter. P.S. And you could do a job for me, if you will. I have been looking for a reviewer for the Jaguar XF for a book I am currently writing "The Cars that Saved Jaguar". It is for engineering students to encourage them to get into the automotive industry, as it can be more "sexy" than other industries.
  10. There has been no warning that the brake pads need replacing, Stan, and they look OK. My car goes in for it's MOT on the 17th of June, so anything like that will be sorted. The brakes work perfectly well at the moment. Regards. Peter.
  11. Hi Roger, Don't worry about a message going astray. Finding your way round a new site is often tricky. Regartds Peter.
  12. Welcome to the club, Dave. I am not a mechanical expert but a possible cheap solution could well be a clean out of the fuel system --- almost a touch of the chimney sweep. The Terraclean Service which would cost about £125 would be beneficial and is done without disturbing mechanical parts or some Wynns fuel additive for fuel injector cleaner at about £8 is another way. Have a look at the Terraclean Video on You Tube. Regards, Peter.
  13. Beauty is often in the eye of the beholder, but last Saturday on the way back from Dover I saw an Audi 4x4 in white with bright Red wheels and the Audi logo also painted Bright Red. It looked so ugly it could only have been done by someone colour blind! Peter.
  14. Hi Trevor, I had two diesels as company cars in the nineties which I found rather good, one had the Peugeot engine and the other a Rover engine. When I retired in 1999 I had a Rover 2.5 Petrol Sterling, but three years ago went to a Jaguar 2.7 Diesel and have been very pleased with it. But the 3.0 litre S Type has one of the best engines there is, so it is not a bad choice, but they are getting a bit rare. Regards, Peter.

Welcome to the club, Roger. It is good to hear of a dealer being top notch after reading some very adverse comments about some dealers. Tell the Club which dealer it was. I hope you will enjoy the club as much as you enjoy your Jaguar. Regards, Peter.
  17. Hi Michael, There are quite a few advertised and Amazon is a quick was of getting one. Basic ones are quite cheap, but there are several members who use the Mongoose and a laptop, who will also advise. Regards, Peter.
  18. Welcome to the club, Trevor. The S type is a great cat, and in my opinion, a future classic. I hope you can find what you want, but don't disregard the 2.7 Diesel. Regards, Peter.
  19. Hi Kenny, The club will be sorry to lose you as a Moderator. Your advice has always been valued and appreciated. But other and more important matters come first. My very best wishes to you and your family. Regards Peter.
  20. Hi Chris, I am from Lancashire, and only came to the Midlands as a Missionary. My first car was a Triumph Herald, and my last motorcycle was a Triumph T100. I wish I still had both -- would be worth a fortune. Regards, Peter.
  21. Hi Chris, There have been a few JOC meets but it needs a good location and a willing organiser to get one going. Now that I have had my main holiday of the year, I will give some thought to organising a JOC meet somewhere in the Midlands -- which is halfway to everywhere. We had one at Gaydon last September - a good day, but only half of those who said they were coming actually turned up. Some had good and proper reasons and informed the organisers, but unfortunately some didn't. Regards, Peter.
  22. Welcome to the club, Adam. Sharing experiences is very helpful and the club thrives on the assistance such can give. I hope you enjoy the club as much as you will enjoy your Jaguar. Regards, Peter.
  23. Hi Chris, I have had an s type for 3 years now --- a model I have always wanted since I first saw the Mk1 in the early sixties. I agree with you about the XJ - a big car.
  24. Welcome to the club, Chris. I think you will find that the club is a very friendly and helpful group of people, and I hope you enjoy it as much as you enjoy your Jaguar. Regards, Peter.
  25. Hi Paul, That would be useful. I did plug it in to my OBD2 reader, and nothing came up. The EPB recalibration went as it has done before. Peter.
