  1. The headlamps appear similar but the looks of the interior are left or right and the bulbs can be changed. I had a bulb changed by Halfords and it was wrongly positioned — It is all very complicated but the headlamp units themselves don't make the difference. Peter
  2. Hi Nicolas, and welcome to the club. Russ is quite correct. I have a 2007 S type and the headlamps are different from the pre 2004. Would reccomend that you keep the headlamps you have and get the bulbs suitable for the EU. They will fit and will not be that expensive. I did that some years ago with an Austin. Regards, Peter.
  3. Hi Steve, and welcome to the club. I too know Wolverhampton very well, having worked in many of the Steel Works in the City. I also was a friend of the late Denis Turner from Bilston [ Lord Turner of Biltson]. I had an X type 2.5 AWD which was stolen — the three thieves were allowed by Her Royal Highness to serve 8 years in one of her free institutions. The X type that you have was a very popular car in the USA, particularly useful in the winter. Enjoy. Peter,
  4. I have had my s type with the electronic handbrake which caused me some trouble. I have now made sure that my battery is always charged [Thank you CTEK] and only one problem in the last 5 years which was cured with a new battery. Peter.
  5. I also have a CTEK charger — I got the idea from Joe. I had a electric socket put in just outside my garage, which makes it much easier. Peter.
  6. Welcome to the club, Ian. I take it that AGR valve is the EGR valve. I had the same when I first got my s type [2013 years ago]. My s type has a two EGR valves and early on I found that when the engine light came on a did give the V6 engine a bit of a blast. I soon found out that a better way of curing the Sticking EGR valves was to use premium diesel and every other fill up the introduction of an additive [Millers Oil Diesel Power ECO Max] which only costs about £12 for about 6 months usage. It has never failed me! Regards, Peter.
  7. Welcome to the club, Wayne. That is a good find. I would guess that there are a few Jaguar owners who would like that engine. I hope it leaves your yard soon. Regards, Peter.
  8. Hi Philip, I had my Halfords discount car a month or two ago. There was a notification as Julie has indicated. Peter
  9. This post was about 5 years old.
  10. A disaster, Jon. It will be difficult to find out what was the cause. Good luck, Peter
  11. Hi Sarah, and welcome to the club. I know little about roof racks these days, but if you advertised them on the "For Sale" you could have some interest. Good luck and best wishes. Peter.
