  1. Hi Andy, Is it not covered by your car insurance? Peter.
  2. Welcome to the club, Dean. I would check the coolant level first and top up if necessary, and see if the warning light goes out. It could also be a faulty sensor. I would also check if the temperature gauge operates at its normal operating temperature. Regards, Peter.
  3. HI David, and welcome to the Club. There are quite a few members in the North East, and all it needs for a meet is for a good venue, and a willing organiser. I hope there is someone out there who will assist. Good luck, Peter.
  4. Welcome to the Club, Graham. You sound like a perfectionist --- not many of those about these days in the car business. Photos before and after will be nice. Regards, Peter.
  5. Hi Mart, I have never had to do it, but I think that there are some members who have, and they will assist you. Regards, Peter.
  6. Hi Martin, If there is power going into the module I would first check if there is power going into the sensors. Peter.
  7. Welcome to the club, Les. My s type is my second Jaguar. When I bought my first, the salesman told me that I would never drive another make of car. I was unsure of that, not because of the Jaguar, but because I was 76 at the time. However, he was quite right, and when my X Type 2.5AWD was stolen, I didn't even think of another take of car. The S type is a very good car, and the 3.0 litre V6 is a great engine, and personally, I would not bother with trying to improve it's performance. Just treat it well, use premium fuel, and make sure it is serviced properly. I have the 2.7 Diesel SE which is no slowcoach, which I also gave a Terraclean and while it has fierce acceleration, also gives me over 40 mpg and more on long runs. I hope you enjoy the club and your Jaguar. Regards, Peter.
  8. Welcome to the club, Roger. I think that you will enjoy your Jaguar, and I hope you enjoy the Club. There are quite a few Club members in South Wales and i am hoping that a meet will be held in the Principality sometime. Regards, Peter.
  9. Hi David, There are several electrical experts in the Club, so feel free to ask anything. Regards, Peter.
  10. Welcome to the club, David. Two great cars -- I just love my S type --- Grace Pace and Space, to quote Sir William Lyons. Regards, Peter.
  11. Welcome to the Club, Ashley, I hope you enjoy both the Club and Your Jaguar. Rattles !!. There used to be an operative at Dagenham whose job it was to put a few nuts and bolts into spaces that would later be sealed so that the dealers would get some work finding out what the problem was. At least, that is what I was told when I had 10 Ford Escorts in the seventies! Regards, Peter.
  12. Hi David, Good luck with this car. Regards, Peter.
  13. Hi Gary, I endorse your choice -- I had an x type in Radiance red, which suited the X type, and I now have an s type in Indigo blue which I think suits the s type better. Banks are very quick to process your money in but very slow to letting you get it back. Regards, Peter.
  14. Hi Steve, My S Type is the first car I have had wth an electrically heated windscreen. On my 1962 Triumph Herald a demister was an optional extra and not fitted, and so a cloth and the quarter light open was the only way to keep the windscreen clear when driving. Car heaters were also optional extras, and a warm coat, scarf, gloves and cap were necessary in the winter. I still use my 1964 model Sheepskin Jacket! Regards, Peter.
  15. I have a list of IP addresses --- now and then Spammers try taking a new identity and coming back that way!
  16. Welcome to the Club, Nicholas. I hope you enjoy the club as much as you enjoy Jaguars. Hope it comes on time. Regards, Peter.
  17. Hi Rob, I am guessing it is some kind of electrical explanation. There are some members who will know, though. Peter.
  18. Hi Steve, My car has the electrical windscreen defroster and it is one of the optional extras factory fitted. I have the list of all optional extras fitted and not fitted -- I don't have a breakdown warning sign, a cigar lighter, a first aid kit, an immersion heater, a rear spoiler, ski stowage, a style pack, and voice activated modules and voice activated controls --- all of which I can mange without! Regards, Peter.
  19. Hi All, I have just had occasion to flag a member as a spammer. His/her profile [YuanYuan] indicated that he or she had a 2004 model F type which should tell us something. He/she will no longer be able to post messages. This person posted 50 identical posts on every topic possible and all giving a list of various retailers. These people pop up now and then and every time they seem to want just to be disruptive. The club is a friendly and helpful group of members and in the last few weeks have demonstrated how helpful they are, and I am sure that all agree with me on that. The moderators do try to read all posts, but now and then the odd one gets past. I would personally like to thank all those members who appreciate the spirit and aims of the club, and as someone once said "it is your Club". My best regards, Peter.
  20. Makes sense, Steve. I will delete the link. Regards, Peter.
  21. Which message, Steve? I will delete it for you if need be. Peter.
  22. Hi Joe, I don't think that I have them -- I can't say I have ever looked, though. I have just looked a the complete list of specifiations and it says '"FIXED FOOT PEDALS", That saves me a look. Peter.
  23. Hi Mike, Your Jaguar looks very smart. No snow here - just a bit of hail! Regards, Peter.
  24. Hi Matthew, To get the size of a jubilee clip I usually put a tape measure round and nt the distance round, and take it from there. The other method is to go to the Pound Shop and buy a whole card full of various sizes, making sure there are some biggish ones there. Regards, Peter.
  25. HI Paul, Multiple posts deleted. I hope you will be able to solve the problem you have, Regards, Peter.
