Hi Marvin, and welcome to the club. The club is about sharing experiences, and it is nice to see a good one acknowledging good service - something I like to see. My s type is now nine years old and is still tunring a few heads at the looks and quality of the car. I am probably biased as I love my Jaguar, and look after it so that it looks after me. swicthing off the engine when you stop?

Hi David, When I stop my s type diesel, I know that the turbos are still spinning, and so I wait for a minutes before turning off the engine. The wait also lets the engine know that it is now resting and excess fuel is no longer needed. Regards, Peter. -
Hi Gary, Quite a lot of difference. I had an SE and my son has a Sport. My SE has full leather seats, his has partial leather, for example, which are the standard for each specification. The SE specifications also depends on what the first owner has opted for, but if you measure it in money probably about £3k. Regards, Peter.

Hi Mike, I am at the other side of the West Midlands in Sutton Coldfield. The s type is irresistible, and in my mind is a future classic. My s type has two turbos -- and the diesel is quite remarkable for its turn of speed. Hope you enjoy the S type --- and the club. Regards, Peter.

Hi Gary E, I have a S Type 2.7D SE, will quite a few factory fitted optional extras, which I have had for nearly three years without any major problems. I use premium Fuel which I find gives me both good fuel economy and performance, and in spite of doing mostly short runs, I have never had a DPF problem. The only time the engine working amber light come on is when the EGR valves get sticky and Code P0402 pops up --- a good blast or a can of Wynns EGR Cleaner cures that. Great Cars! Regards, Peter.

Hi David, and welcome to the club, The 2.7 diesel s type is a great model. I don't do a big mileage either, but just make sure I do a ln run once a month or so, and also give her a bit of a blast occasionally. To Liverpool tomorrow for a weekend to enjoy SWMBO's birthday and looking forward to a great weekend. I hope you enjoy the club. Regards, Peter.

Hi John, A friend of mine bought the S Type 2.5 litre when it first came out and he has not had a problem with it.. Obviously it is not a quick as the other S Type models but when you will probably do less than 5k miles as year that will not bother you. Driving through Oxford in an S Type is what a few owners would like to do! Regards, Peter.

Thank You, Phillip. I was a Divisional Officer for the ISTC, now Community, and a great friend of my Colleague John Foley MBE, and his half brother Tommy Fellows who both live in Port Talbot. Hi Paul, I got a quote 5/6 years ago to respray my Rover Sterling of between £1200 to £1500 - a bit depended on the cost of repairing body work - a few small dings and dents. I did not go ahead because the car would have sold for £1000 - and a Jaguar was calling me! Inflation would have put that price around £2500. Regards, Peter.

Hi Miles, As you know I had the Supa Guard process almost three years ago. It is supposed to last three years. In June I am giving my S Type a good detailing and would like a recommendation as to what process I should use. I would appreciate your advice. Regards, Peter. -
Hi Phillip, I had to WD40 the driver's seat a couple of times during the winter, and a bit of jiggling [permissable] worked. As an aside, please give my support to the workers at Port Talbot, a works I know well, and where i felt that I was always welcome every time I went there. Regards, Peter.

Hi Walter, I'm just adding a few things that you can think of. Before you start applying a good paint protecting product, you really need to make sure the car is very clean - i.e. all the road grime which you can't see has been got rid of. Start off by running your hand along the sills of your car and if it is not as smooth as silk you will need to use a product -- and there are quite a few -- to get it smooth. I use a spray [which was part of a detailing pack I won on a meet] with which you also need to use that easily available product known as elbow grease. The clay bar has the same effect in that it removes the grime rather than polishing the car. When that is done there are a lot of polishes that are available -- Autoglym and Regulars are both well respected as is Gliptone. Many detailers use products which include Carnauba wax. If you google Redguard Auto Spa -- member of the JOC some good advice will be at hand too. Hard work but the final result is worth it. Regadrs Peter.

Hi Wat, There are some members who use the clay bar for preparation, but I had my car detailed with a paint protection, and basically I just need warm water and a good shampoo. It is supposed to act three years and in June I will be giving my car a good days cleaning and a good treatment for the winter. The Jury is still out on what precess I will use! Regards, Peter.

The car has been buffed up to what I would be called ordinary and others might call gleaming. The lawn has been cut and looks rather nice. I have sat out under a cloudless sky -- Arizonian -- with a bottle of Pinot Grigio -- and look forward to a couple of grilled lamb chops served with sliced runner beans and Jersey Royals. Nice to be retired -- sometimes! Regards Peter

Hi Simon, and welcome to the club. I seem to be an expert at this problem, having done this quite a few times. I have even invested in a battery isolation switch [ not yet fitted]. The answer is probably a new module, which has not yet been invested in. The battery is probably OK, as mine was changed by a Jaguar dealer in 2012. I find that mine is affected by cold weather, and in hot weather is OK. It is either buy a new module or put up with the old one. Regards Peter.
