  1. Jim, Sarcasm will get you nowhere. Please read the Rules --- for the fourth time of asking. Peter.
  2. I do, Haydn. I think another meet at an event would be a good idea. Regards, Peter.
  3. Jim, The rules of the club state quite clearly that if you want to question a Moderators's decision you should do so with the Moderator directly by using PM or email in a professional manner. Please read the rules --- and this is the third time I have asked you do do so. Peter/
  4. Hi Michael, The best and probably the safest is to go to an independent and trustworthy garage. Wheels are rather important in a car -- not an original thought -- but still true. Regards, Peter.
  5. I agree, Haydn. And I would enjoy doing so. Peter.
  6. Hi Peter, and welcome to the club. It is very difficult to determine differences between Jaguar specifications, as there are so many optional extras that can be specified by the first owner and factory fitted when being built. My S Type SE is the top of the range, but having nothing to do I checked the price the optional extras cost and they came to £10,094. A different engine will cost more, but the optional extras could make the cheaper [less expensive] model have a better spec. But meanwhile, just enjoy your Jaguar. Regards, Peter
  7. To a meet later in the spring or the Gaydon Breakfast meet? I will certainly go to the meet you posted about, but I don't yet know about the Breakfast meet, although it sounds good..
  8. Interesting, Geoff.
  9. Never a problem with getting on to the site, and i know less than you, Phil!
  10. Hi CBers, There is a definite list which I was going to print off bit it was a almost 200 pages. I will look it up and make it a sticky after I have filleted and hot smoked a salmon! But just google those codes and you will find what each is. Regards Peter.
  11. Hi Craig and welcome to the Club. The X type is a great car, smooth and quite quick. Key fobs do seem to get a lot of publicity, and seem to provide auto locksmiths/electricians some work. Check you car battery is OK and if so you may need to either get your dealer to reprogram the fobs and match them with the car or get a local auto electrician or auto locksmith to sort it out. Regards, Peter.
  12. Hi Haydn, Now that the sun is allegedly going to shine a meet up would be a great idea. A willing organiser is the first priority, and then an interesting venue - I would certainly be interested. Regards, Peter.
  13. Hi Fred, and welcome to the Club. Jaguar are great cars, and like other modern cars has certain foibles. Have you checked the car battery itself? The Jaguar does demand a battery in good condition. If the battery is OK you could well need the key fobs reprogramming by either the dealer from who you bought the car if you have a warranty, or the services of a good auto locksmith or auto electrician. Let us know how you get on. Regards, Peter.
  14. Hi Robert, You will notice that the duplicate posts have gone. It is usually the fault of the sender pressing the button twice. The system allows you to delete the superfluous ones, but I have done this for you. Peter.
  15. I think I must have mellowed with age, Frank When I was working and there was a problem they would threaten those dissenting/malingering that they would send for me. Peter.
  16. Hi Walter, There should be the date on the disc, and it should come up somewhere on the touchscreen SatNav settings. Regards, Peter.
  17. Welcome to the club, Calvin. The X type is a rather nice car and the diesel is quite economical too. I used to have motorcycles -- I had one of the very first 6 Honda Dreams in the UK, and also a Triumph T100, which died absolutely on the Preston By Pass [now called the M6] on the 12th June 1964. The club is a friendly one, with a lot of Members in Yorkshire. Regards, Peter.
  18. Hi, I am inclined to agree with Kenny. The car will have been driven quite hard and will have about 10 years wear on a 4 year old car. While the engine will probably be up to another 60k, the other bits that go into making the engine work and the car drive properly will probably start to wear out. As Kenny said, there are plenty of good cars around and one will come along. Regards, Peter.
  19. Welcome to the Club, Dan. The club is a friendly group of people with one thing in common --- the love of Jaguar cars. I hope you will share your experiences. Regards, Peter.
  20. Hi Bill, WSS M97B44 - coloured orange is coolant [antifreeze] to use. Sometimes it come ready diluted but mostly comes undiluted and you mix it 50 50 with distilled water. It is always worth a weekly check when the engine is cold. The air filter come off quite easily once you have mastered the art, as it were. There are two retaining clips on the right hand side of the rectangular box [on the diesel] and you just need to unclip them. They might be stiff. Good luck, Peter.
  21. The outside thermometer says 10C and the car says 6C, Ian. The thermometer is in the sun but it is very cold here.
  22. I have, Ian, although it was quite chilly when went out this morning.
  23. Hi Paul, I have a list of fitted extras to my S Type, plus a list of things not fitted, which is rather small. One of the items not fitted is a "Style Pack" the content of which is unknown. Regards, Peter.
  24. This is brilliant news, Paul. Fran and I are so glad for you both! Regards, Peter.
  25. Hi Ian, I have had a look at mine, and certainly there are differences. The wood used is maple and there are differences in the grain which can cause such differences. Regards, Peter.
