  1. Hi Harmz, and welcome to the Club. Martyn has pointed you in the right direction and the easier and cheaper options are sometime the ones that work. Talcum powder in the Radiator used to work in the old fashioned cars to stop a leak. Let us know how you get on. Regards, Peter.
  2. That's very interesting, Joe. Probably a bit beyond me, though. I just wonder why the manufacturers didn't produce a disc as an option, Peter.
  3. I don't think so, Ray. It is the same as the S Type sat nav, and it can't be done on that Peter.
  4. Nice colour, David, the same as mine! I like the piping round the seats! Peter.
  5. Hi Colin, I have a similar speed limiter. There are some occasions however when not there, however! I do think that 19.4 seconds for 0 - 100 mph does seem a touch slow. My s type with the 2.7 diesel still seems to want to go quicker when you have reached 70 mph and you have the S button on. 8.1 seconds 0 - 62 mph and you still have plenty or torque. I think there is a misprint and 19.4 should read 14.9 seconds. Peter
  6. Hi Bruce and welcome to the club, I have a stick on and it seems very secure. Regards, Peter.
  7. Hi Paul, I don't have the problem with getting into the garage as the car won't fit in owing to my daughter's record collection and umty seventy other things, but I have seen this system used in a steel warehouse that was fully automated and the bogies ran on rails. While there was no problem with the bogies themselves there could and sometimes was, an issue with an overhanging load. The side of the doors had several thin pliable plastic rods on either side of the doorway with sensors on that detected the overhang. A similar principle could be applied by using thin pieces of cane - incense sticks spring to mind set at the correct height for you to see. A blob of cotton wool could be attached at the end to stop any damage. You would be able to see these to centre your car, Regards, Peter. P.S. I am not related to either Mr Heath or Mr Robinson.
  8. Hi Joe, and welcome to the club. I carry a can of WD40 in the boot which is the first choice for most things. Peter.
  9. Good Morning, Ray. I think you need to install a kit. Paul will assist on this, because he has done it on his S Type. Peter.
  10. That's Warrington for you, Keith! I wouldn't buy a bag of chips there --- but I am biased -- my home town is Widnes! Peter.
  11. Hi Ray, The link to post pictures is either by using "My Media" on the bar above, or "more reply options below. Peter.
  12. My son's 2006 X Type sport [2.0D] has the power folding mirrors fitted. Peter,
  13. Welcome to the club, Tim. It is a friendly club with helpful members. You will enjoy the S type -- a great car to drove whether fast or sedate. Regards, Peter,
  14. Hi David, Some drivers do like the dashboard lights to be quite dimmed down, and I have known drivers who like them off completely. Personally, I like to know what the engine is doing! Regards, Peter.
  15. Hi David, and welcome to the club. There should be a dimmer switch on the dashboard --- there is on my S Type, and there is a similar one on my son's X Type. Have you got an Owners Manuall? If not, I think you can either download on or get one from eBay. Let us know how you get on. Regards, Peter.
  16. Welcome to the club, Jacky. The answer is yes. A very sophisticated little toy. Peter,
  17. Very fussy cars, these Jaguars. Like their owners they like the better things in life, and when you start them up they expect to go somewhere! :D
  18. And to you, Ian. And very important advice -- the JOC does not want to see less members in 2016. Regards, Peter.
  19. Welcome to the club, Chris, Feel free to ask questions, - you will find the members will assist with any issues. Regards, Peter.
  20. Hi David, I do know the place and once went there to look at a car, but no-one was there. If you do come up, send me a PM and I will give you my 'phone number. Regards, Peter.
  21. Hi Colin, Have you checked out the tyre itself? I had the same with a Rover after hitting a pothole, and the tyre had to be changed. Regards, Peter.
  22. Hi Bill, and welcome to the club. The first thing I would do is check the battery. The s type is quite intolerant when it comes to batteries, which normally last about 5 to 6 years. You will enjoy your s type and hopefully the Club, Regards, Peter.
  23. Hi Derek, My s type has a Varta G3 95 AH 800 fitted by Jaguar. As Paul says, the S type does like efficient battery, and minor electrical items such as heated windows, radio, etc will shut down when the battery is failing. This is the Big Cat telling you that starting the car is far better than listening to the radio. Regards, Peter.
  24. There appears to be doubt as to whether the undertray is a standard fitment, and I have looked around the various spare part dealers find that the part is listed as the same for all petrol engines, but different for the 2.7 diesel. It is not mentioned in the optional extras for the Jaguar S type, either The David Manners Group sell the part for £104 inclusive of VAT, and it could be worth the price of a 'phone call to find out for certain in the pre facelift models had the fitment as standard. Regards, Peter.
  25. Hi Keith, and welcome to the club. I have never seen those seat colours in a modern Jaguar, although I have seen a Mk 2 Jaguar with dark red seats. I think you will enjoy that car - nice colour. Regards, Peter
