Hi Stan, I have heard that there is a way of removing sensors without removing the bumper. I think it involves gently prising them out, but I wouldn't try it without getting some advice from someone who has done it. Peter.

Hi Abbas, Adding to what Garry has said, it is always worthwhile to check out the battery. A member last year bought an S type which had a battery on it that would have been good on a mini. Jaguars do need a big battery. Regards, Peter.

Welcome to the Club, Andy. We lived in Dronfield Woodhouse for12 years, and our two sons went to St Mary's in Chesterfield. I can understand getting burnt out by the pressure that you get with teaching --- I lasted two terms before giving in my notice! I swing my car round on the drive so that I can drive out into the road, and I get the front beeps as I get close to the hedge, and then the rear beeps as the boot gets close to a wall. Hi Everyone, Remember this number as it will entitle you to the JOC discount: 2176155. The final details for the meet are as follows: The list of attendees is in the previous post, and it is important to let either Paul of myself know if you are coming but not on the list. We have reserved parking and we will have to inform the museum if there are more coming than listed. It is also quite important that I know the number of cars attending, as I have prepared a small and rather amateurish booklet for each of the members attending. This booklet will have a number on the back page. We have got some sponsorship for the meet from Opie Oils and the David Manners Group, plus some other small items. There will be numbers drawn out of the metaphorical hat and if the number on the back of your booklet coincides with the number drawn out, you will win something. Paul and I will be in the Car Park from 10.00 am on the 19th, and we each have a card on the dashboard indicating who we are, and it would not be a bad idea if everyone attending could do similar on an A4 sheet --- marker pen would be OK. There are some roadworks around exit 12 of the M40 and Sat Navs might not be that useful for the last half mile. The Museum is well signposted, however. In the event of the weather being inclement, Paul has arranged somewhere where we can meet around 12.30 pm. Paul and I are looking forward to the Meet and the opportunity to get to know you all. I once saw a Triumph Herald with a GT badge on the back. The herald was a good car -- my first -- but with 1200 cc and a top speed of 86 mph, was certainly not a GT.

Hi Ken, I think you will find that there are about 30 companies across the Black Country making various bits for both engines and body components of most of the cars made today. Peter.

I think he is correct, Ken. Car manufacturers do not necessarily build their own engines. From 1946 onwards till being sold off to the Germans, Rolls Royce used Buick Engines, and I once had a Rover 218 Diesel with a Peugeot engine. Morgan used Rover engines at one time, and my s type diesel has an engine built as a joint venture between Ford and Peugeot. Ford engineering and technology is pretty good, and some of their parts are shared with Jaguar and can be cheaper. Peter.

Hi Andy, Not the site that came up for me, but almost identical and does the job required. I had code P0402 come up, and although I knew what it was I wanted to show my grandson how to find out what the code meant. And it produced a very good write up. Regards, Peter.
