  1. Hi Ken, Try the David Manners group website. They do have an online parts catalogue. Regards, Peter.
  2. Hi Chris, What code referred to one of the egr valves? Sometimes they just need cleaning. What part of Birmingham are you located? Peter.
  3. Hi Paul, "We can work it out" Quote Peter.
  4. Hi Andy, and welcome to the club. I tried several sites who supply original Jaguar parts when looking for noise muffling pads for the engine bay without success. I would suggest the yacht chandlers! Meanwhile, enjoy the S type, which is great car to drive. Regards, Peter.
  5. Do you want to have a look at mine again, Paul? Peter.
  6. I am rather glad I use an Apple MacBookPro, after two disastrous episodes with Microsoft, which would have lost all my photos had I not put them on discs. Peter
  7. Hi Des, and welcome to the club. I fell in love with the Mk2 in 1965 when my mate refurbished a Mk1. My S type is a true heir. You wil get plenty of assistance with any teething problems and I hope you enjoy the club. Regards, Peter.
  8. Hi Shane, OK with me! Members, including myself, do like to look after their cars. I have had several paint protection products on several cars and after three years or earlier they need a good polish to bring up that showroom shine again. Regards, Peter.
  9. Hi Susan, Just click on "Forums" after logging in, and then select a forum. It should work OK. Peter.
  10. Hi Dave Bertieboy [Mark] is based in Leeds, but if you contact him I am sure he will give you some inklings as to what is wrong with your car. Then you can take it from there. Peter.
  11. They sound pretty bad< Paul. Information like that is useful to know. Peter.
  12. Ian is quite correct. Dave. Bertieboy is a top man and has great knowledge of the X Type. Regards, Peter.
  13. Halfords and Poundland, although I cannot confirm the quality of the latter, Chris. Peter.
  14. Hi Chris, Have you looked for a blockage somewhere along the line? Peter.
  15. Hi Chris, and welcome to the club. We are a friendly bunch of people here, and sharing experiences is what make the club. The s type the is a great car, both in looks and comfort. Sir William Lyons who designed the car's predecessors described the Mk2, which the S Type design is based upon, described the car as having "Grace, space and pace". Still the best description today! Enjoy you car and the Club! Regards, Peter.
  16. Hi All, Things are moving quite quickly in spite of the meet still a month away. I visited the Museum a couple of weeks ago and had a thoroughly enjoyed the day. However, there is a lot of road works going on around the Museum due to JLR developing their Gaydon facility. Those using the M40 should disregard their Sat Nav instructions after coming off the M40 at Exit12, where the road works on the slip road swill be finished by the 19th. The Museum is well signed and there should be no problems getting there. There seem to be adequate picnic tables and if the weather is good, it will be ideal for a picnic lunch. There is a small cafe serving a small range of hot meals, and drinks. We have some sponsorship for the event ---- more on this later. Looking forward to meeting you all. Regards, Peter.
  17. Hi Ken, Driving in the countryside in Ireland are much more relaxing than in England. We have just come back from a week in Ireland and got 46.2 mpg with my s type. Regards, Peter.
  18. Welcome to the Club, Robin. There are not many S Types in Australia, and I guess that a nice shiny model in red will turn a few heads and get a lot of comments. Enjoy, Peter.
  19. Welcome to the Club, Chris. It could be one of many things, but often the cause is a sensor failing. When the car is serviced I assumed the mechanic wil check it out with an OBD2 Code reader. Let us know how you get on. There is a Club meet on the 19th September at the Heritage Car Museum at Gaydon where you will get the opportunity to meet other members in the Midlands [and elsewhere].. Regards Peter
  20. Hi Dean, The Halfords site is a good one to get a tyre comparison/report. Once you know which tyres suit you and your car best, then it is time to start the price comparison. The reason I have had my last tyres for Halfords is that where I live there are quite a few tyre fitting companies all competing with each other, and my local Halfords will beat any other price if you just downloaded the other companies price list! Peter
  21. Good point, Stan. The big oil companies are very interested in money and a mixed consumption of oil products gives the best profits. Peter.
  22. Hi Dean, and welcome to the club. Your XF is a great looker! There was a survey on tyres about 6 months ago and the top all-round tyre that also meets the Euro standard was the Goodyear Eagle. Second was Vredestein. It is worth looking at the Halfords site -- just Google Halfords Tyres -- and you can put in your Reg Number and you can see all the tyres that fir your car plus the rating. When you find one with the most"A" ratings, that will be the best tyre. For servicing, there is a list of independent Garages who have been recommended by members in the Jaguar Owners Lounge that is worth looking at. Main Dealers have been found to be very pricey. Regards, Peter.
  23. Hi Colin, Try Adamesh or the David Manners Group. Some stockists used Ebay and Amazon. You do get what you pay for, though. Regards, Peter.
  24. Welcome to the Club, James. We all have something in common here --- a love of Jaguars. I hope you enjoy the Club Regards, Peter.
  25. Hi Garry, Good luck with the RAc. Having tried all the electrical fixes, it can only besetting mechanical. Having only seen a diagram of the Park Brake, and at a guess, it could be the cable winding mechanism. The man with the van could be knowledgeable enough to get under a try to fix it. Regards, Peter.
