That is one of the mysteries of the production line, John. An uncle of mine worked at Ford in Halewood, and on one occasion we both had the same model of Ford Escort, the 1.3L. However, his 1.3L had a 1.6 engine, the same seats as a Ghia , with a fitted radio and very posh carpets. I guess that when the car was being built a stray wiring loom found a place close to the production line and curiously got fitted to your car, and the chap on the line got rid of the one that should have got on to your car. Another curious coincidence could have been that his car was in need of a new wiring loom. Smacks a bit of the '57 Chevrolet. Peter.
