  1. Hi all!! The BMW is quite good fun with traction control off, so can only imagine what its like in a Jaguar!! You may be pleased to know that, all things being well, I get a 2002 3.0l SE auto tomorrow!! Fingers crossed and will update soon. Hope you're drying out successfully Trevor and you haven' been affected to bad by the floods. Regards Josh
  2. Fingers crossed I pick it up next weekend, then got to sell my BMW, that's the tough bit.
  3. I'm guessing the Mrs can't see this?! Haha
  4. Isn't that half right Trevor?! Can't wait for the summer, the rain gets warmer. Many thanks to Kevin as well for the video, most informative. Regards Josh
  5. Got another test drive on Thursday, can't wait!! I will admit I do feel like a kid at Christmas at the moment!! Roll on Thursday :)
  6. Not yet a Jaguar owner, but soon to have an "S" type. I can see why people do love these vehicles, it is a comfortable luxurious car with plenty of poke!!
  7. Update on the buying front:- I went to look at another 3 today, unfortunately not bought one yet as I am torn between two, however I drove one for the first time and am absolutely loving the 3.0l V6 power plant!!! I was somewhat taken aback by the performance and can't wait to be a "S" Type owner!! Got to make up my mind by Friday as I want one for next weekend. Fingers crossed!!
  8. Many thanks Peter. I intend on looking at another tomorrow and maybe a second viewing of the one I mentioned earlier now knowing what to look for. I will try to report back tomorrow evening, hopefully with good news!!
  9. Maintenance and servicing isn't such an issue being an agricultural fitter, I know my way around a car! I want some back up after buying a car just for piece of mind more than anything for if the engine or transmission goes bang just after buying the vehicle. The vehicle I am considering is not from a Jaguar dealer, but a genuine second hand car dealer. (I have dealt with my share of dodgy dealers, I know what to look out for). Hope you and the XJ are surviving the west-country weather!! Josh
  10. I am only looking to buy from dealer I do not like buying privately, mainly because a dealer would give some sort of back-up. (I am the sort of person who gets back-up out of nearly any dealer!!) What sort of warranty was offered at £1200?!
  11. Many thanks again for the advise. I have looked at an 02 plate 3.0l, but only briefly. I could not find any signs of water ingress in the boot compartment. There were a few marks on the interior but that's to be expected on any vehicle of this age. The motor seemed to be running smooth, however I did not test drive it to see what the transmission was like (is there anything to look out for?). With 112000 miles on the clock it was priced at just shy of £2000. Does this sound a fair price?
  12. Many thanks Peter. I am looking for an older vehicle being a youngster, a 3.0l v6 preferably. Is there any mechanical issues I should be aware of?
  13. Hi there, I am currently looking for an "S" Type and was wondering, is there anything I should look out for? And what would be an appropriate price range for one? Many thanks Josh
  14. How do I use this website?
