  1. Update on my A/C. It turned out that i had a leaking condenser and a faulty compressor. These were replaced. My code reader message said that i had an ecm failure which led me to believe the dcc valve had failed. After the above components were replaced and the codes reset no more codes were highlighted. Graham
  2. A good temporary fix for little money and a bit of time. Now the search begins for a permanent fix with a trimmer.
  3. Thank you for replying Max,i will give it a go this weekend.
  4. Hi, having purchased a couple of months ago and knowing some recommissioning of my s-type was required, one of the last items on my list is the headlining. I have been quoted by a local company in Nuneaton £750,not sure if this is the going rate and wondered if any one could recommend any other companies so i could compare quotes? In the meantime for a quick fix i am going to try those fixings advertised on Ebay. Many Thanks Graham
  5. Hi all, since buying my s-type about a month ago i did a check on the coolant and it is coloured Blue. Should i change it as i believe the spec says Orange. Many Thanks Graham
  6. Thank you Mike for pointing me to the guide.
  7. Hi Gordon, did you get this sorted. I get B1263 the same as you when i plug in my scanner.I reset the code. My aircon has just started to give warm air only and it goes into the garage on Tuesday as we suspect the DCCV,has failed.I decided to checkout the DCCV first as these are known to be unreliable, then checking the wiring to it as these can get brittle. If no joy i will check the ccm module and send it away for the upgrade. I believe this route to be the most economical financially initially.I have tried to get the Bosch DCCV but without success so i will put a cheaper one in and look to change asap. Graham
  8. Please add me to the list, have bought tickets. Thank you Graham
  9. Hi all, well back in the Jaguar fold after a few years with Mercedes. Just had to come back to a Jaguar for all their irritants, but they are a comfortable drive. There are a couple issues i need to address i.e. rear passenger door will not open from inside or out, rear headlining starting to droop, wing mirrors need lubricating and the radio seems not to respond when pressing the buttons. It has been stood around for a couple of months so i have it on my c-tek charger to hopefully bring the battery up to full charge,if it won't i will get a new battery as i know how fickle our s-types are. The car has a full service and repair history mainly main dealer,a gearbox service has been carried out about 9 months ago, wax-oiled front to back.
  10. I may have misled everyone by saying "uneconomical" to repair, apologies.I should have said that having looked at the cost of replacement i am not sure i want to payout. The indie i took it to did not charge me for stripping down the ancilliaries(and putting them back) to try and locate the leak. The decision for me is based on whether i wish to keep the car as there are so many of these out there,it will be a long time before these reach Maestro and Montego price rises Thanks for everyones input, maybe a 4.2 V8 should be next.
  11. Hi John, The leak is from the coolant pipes,it is down to the cost that will be involved to find which pipe it is. It requires a strip down to locate the offending items(s) and i am not prepared to take a risk in not knowing what the final cost will be. I have seen that these coolant pipes are notorious for poor quality and with one costing £250 and it could be one of many. I have tried k-seal but to no avail. Many thanks for your input. Graham
  12. After further investigation the car is uneconomical to repair, picking up the car today and then it looks like its on its way to the scrappy, great shame but thats life. Graham
  13. Hi, my s type diesel has a coolant leak which came up as an advisory on the mot. I have taken to the garage to be sorted but after it has been there a week they tell me that they can see the coolant leaking but are not able to tell where its coming from. I feel i maybe should take the car elsewhere and wondered if anyone is able to recommend a garage in the Nuneaton,Warwickshire area that has experience with this problem. Many Thanks Graham
