  1. Just a brief update for you: This event will be taking place on 29th May 2016 - most likely to be on the Brighton seafront as usual. It is a Jaguar only event, and I am working on gaining much more industry support than previously, trying to get close to matching Jims last organised event :-), and ensuring that everyone has a fantastic day to remember. There will be a convoy on the morning from Pease Pottage Services to the seafront, with us all setting up camp in one huge parking block prior to a fantastic breakfast with a sea view, and the main meet with as much going on as I can pull together for us including a free raffle for a number of must-have goodies, industry reps on site for you to quiz with problems, discounts etc etc. Plus the usual Welcome Packs on the day with free samples, info etc etc. This thread will only be updated every now and again with the progress of things until closer to the date, so you can dip in and check on things if you want, but it doesn't pop up every time you logon. If you would like to sign up for this event please just pop a post on the thread inc how many will likely be coming, and car details, and I will add you in, noting you can join just the main event, or the event and convoy. If you prefer, you are also very welcome to drop a line to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk :-) Convoy from Pease Pottage Services: SteveSheldon 1998 XJ8 3.2 Andrew Lowe 1998 XJR Ngarara 2010 XKR 75 HarleyJagMan 1994 XJS Convertible Brian R 2011 XFR Ron The Guardian 2009 X-Type Estate Andrew65 2007 2.2 X-Type Estate Clifton94 2007 XJR Portfolio Ian D 2006 XK Coupe NeilJ 2000 S-Type PabloJag1 XKR Phill (Reverend) 2002 S-Type Total 12 cars Main Meet Event on Brighton Seafront: SteveSheldon 1998 XJ8 3.2 +1 (JaguarForums.com) Andrew Lowe 1998 XJR +1 (JaguarForums.com) Ngarara 2010 XKR 75 +1 (JaguarForums.com) HarleyJagMan 1994 XJS convertible +2 (JaguarForums.com) Brian R 2011 XFR + 1 (JaguarForum.com) Ron The Guardian 2009 X-Type Estate + 1 (JaguarOwnersClub.com) Andrew65 2007 2.2 X-Type Estate + 1 (JaguarOwnersClub.com) Clifton94 2007 XJR Portfolio + 1 (JaguarForum.com) Ian D 2006 XK Coupe + 1 (JaguarForum.com) NeilJ 2000 S-Type + 1 (JaguarOwnersClub.com) PabloJag1 2001 XKR + 2 (JaguarOwnersClub.com) Elvis (Smile57) 2007 S-Type + 2 (JaguarOwnersClub.com) Phill (Reverend) 2002 S-Type + 2 (JaguarOwnersClub.com) Total 13 cars - 17 attendees Official Event Support Vehicle: Rowan Lill Official Event Photographer: Stephen Cox from CarSnapped (@CarSnapped) Event Sponsors: Harwoods Jaguar - Harwoods Jaguar Brighton SNG Barratt - SNG Barratt - The Ultimate Jaguar Parts Specialist WaxOnWaxOff - www.wo-wo.co.uk Autoglym - Pas5i0n for Perfection Haynes Manuals - https://Haynes.co.uk Event Advertisers: Carphile.co.uk - Celebrating classic and interesting cars note updates will also appear on Twitter - why not follow the meet @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet or like us and follow us at our NEW Facebook events page www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK and to see previous events for a taste of things please have a look at: UK South East Meet Spring/Summer 2015 in Brighton UK South East Meet December 2014 in Brighton

  12. Hi PabloJag/Steve, It is currently annual rather than bi-annual due to my family (quite reasonably :-)) wanting more of my time. However it hasn't quite worked out that way, because I am now more determined than ever to size our event up now that I have more time allocated to organising each meet :-) Unfortunately I have gotten, over the past couple of years, into the swing of constantly organising Brighton meets so taking six months off just hasn't been working for me. Soooo I have kicked off with sponsors, and potential sponsors already, and as you can see I have started colating a list of who wants to come along :-) I understand where you are coming from about an event just not matching expectations, which is why I always do my best to keep everyone up to date with where I am when organising the Brighton events - I don't want just me and tumbleweed, or just a few people and less tumbleweed without everyone being aware that that is what it is. Curently we have quite a bit going for the event, and I am still (and will continue to do so until the day itself) working on everything, trying to pull in the things that we all want or enjoy at an event.. I am working towards this being as they say on 'The Great British Bakeoff' the showstopper :-) So far we have moved from I think it was seven people attending this event, through to around about 50 or so attending the last two events.. this event is one I am building as we go, event by event, year on year.. We have a facebook account for the event (ermm, yep I am still figuring Facebook out - any help appreciated :-)), a twitter feed, the forum threads, we will be advertising on the tourism websites, and local online newspapers nearer the time and so much more - anything anyone can do to also spread the word and get people on board would be fantastic. Already three companies have agreed to list us in their calendars and we have agreed discounts with another company.. I am on the case :-) But as much as I am working on it it is very much OUR event and any and all input is very, very welcome :-)
  13. The page is at: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100010235321488 So now we have the forum threads for browsers, a Twitter feed for those just wanting the salient points, and now a facebook page to carry all the pictures, and items that don't easily fit onto a forum or Twitter :-) I hope you like....
  19. OK, as you are all aware, we already have a twitter feed for the event - which after a few months of use I have got the hang of :-) and it works well alongside the threads. I have had a number of people suggesting that we have a Facebook page for the event also, carrying the photos, general info etc etc. I have bitten the bullet and set an account up - I would appreciate any help with getting it set up correctly etc. if possible Many thanks in advance

  22. Hi Everyone, and welcome to the thread for our next Annual Brighton Meet! I am quite a way in advance on this, due to no longer being able to run this as a Bi-Annual event :-( But I will be working to continue the trend of each event being bigger and better than the last. 23. Cheap but works well on the X-Type and because it is one with Elm v1.5 had hoped it would read the XJ which is also pre 2007 which I think is when things switched to Elm V2.0?? Meanwhile though this ABS error has highlighted that my wheels were fitted by a gorilla, and my wheel lock adapter broke after just undoing one wheel (and doing it back up before I knew the tool had failed) so it has been suggested that rather than buy another lock adapter at £20 or so that I hammer a 17mm socket onto the locking nut and remove them all that way, replacing with standard or upgraded locking lugs.. if this method works then I can get back to the ABS issue that all this started with lol
  24. Hi guys.. Having all sorts of grief from wheel nuts done up by a gorilla (and now breaking locking nut adapters) before I took ownership, through to ABS sensors concreted into place and ABS errors 300 miles into ownership. I am still sure I have a good car just a bit of a project.. I went to clean all the ABS sensors just in case a simple fix and started with the front passenger side ABS sensor( error started just after driving off 2 days ago and been solid ever since ) only to find it concreted into place with age, more a part of the car than the metal it was mounted in! Damaged it in the process of removing it, so have just finished drilling the old one out and fitting a replacement at £54 from a breaker.*only* three more of these sensors left to try cleaning. Then I moved onto the rear passenger wheel.. Bolts again too tight (gorrilla has been at all the wheels I think) and locking nut adapter gave up without undoing the locking nut, probably because of all the hassle getting the front wheel nuts released. I will now order another adapter during the week. I am going on holiday with the family etc in a few weeks so as a minimum need to know all wheels are removable in case of puncture.. Next weekend, once I have replacement adapter through (best price so far for no.83 lock is £20) I will try to undo the other three wheels and retighten them such that I can remove them roadside. Meanwhile though I still have the ABS error.. I am hoping by cleaning the remaining three sensors (subject to the others not being seized in place) that I can clear the code... *but* I would love to read off the code and go directly to the issue... however my code reader for the x-type will not read at all on the xj. Is there anyone is Sussex area of UK that might be able to pop by with a suitable code reader and read the code off in exchange for a cup of tea? I would really appreciate it if you could.. Many many thanks Steve
  25. OK, after two years of pulling everything together at six monthly intervals for our convoy and meet events I have been at a bit of a loose end since our May event knowing it is now annual rather than bi-annual - used to constantly organising from the end of one event through to the start of the next one... sooooo... At this point I am looking at what we would like to incorporate into the next event - the plan being for the next event to be the next level up from our last one (as always) and am very open to anyones suggestions here, or by email or twitter.. so please let me know your ideas.. I want to keep the event free making it possible for anyone on any budget to attend, another free prize draw, and more :-) Meanwhile I have already started to work with potential sponsors, am looking into whether we stick with the seafront or another venue, and possible things we could incorporate into the event.. A new thread will appear for the next event in the near future :-)
