  1. OK Guys, I am just starting to get back up to speed after a week off from work and the forum.. A lot more to come next week.. meanwhile I have compiled all the photos that have been put up by everyone here : http://1drv.ms/1FlrNND Please feel free to have a browse :-)
  2. Hi Guys, Thankyou to everyone who came along - I hope everyone enjoyed the day.. I am hoping to make our event bigger and even better next year. I took a stack load of pics and have popped them all up here : http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk...1529-new-post/ I will be putting up a synopsis in a few days, and its likely a new thread will appear online in a few weeks for ideas and feedback for the next meet Thankyou again to everyone for making the day as great as it was
  3. Its all happening tomorrow! I have added an additional free prize draw prize of a mounted diecast 1/16 model of an E-Type which gives you the chance, should you not have an E-Type, to take one home :-) The Madiera Harvester have been in touch and will organise a breakfast buffet just for us :-) So we pay at the bar on arrival and then just help ourselves. To give you an idea - the Madiera Harvester can seat 175 customers, and we will be taking up over half of the restaurant :-) I am assembling the Welcome packs, and goodie bags tonight and look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow. I must remember some car washing is overdue before tomorrow as well!
  4. Thankyou for the thought Ron, but I should be OK now until the day - *then* I will definately need your assistance :-)
  5. Oh yes... contact details for the day: Telegram 07914 116375 Twitter @JFBrightonMeets Email JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk Phone 07914 116375
  6. OK this is pretty much the final update as I will be offline most of the day tomorrow prior the meet itself (yes a day off - yippee :-)) If anyone wants to be added to the list of attendees please just post your details on the thread and I will pick them up and add them in either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning if I can - it is safe to assume you are included even if I haven't been able to respond. We currently have approx 68 cars and 110 people, goodie bags and welcome packs (which I will get assembled for you guys Saturday night), plus five (maybe six) Jaguar orientated or branded prizes for the Free prize draw at the end of the day. In addition we need to ensure we get one photoshoot done for our sponsors before we leave on the convoy, another one at the end of the day with the signed banner, plus of course all the great shots possible of our huge range of Jaguars - for me its the E-Type & Mk2 that will be priorities to snap :-) The banner will be out and available through the morning for everyone to sign (noting that on Tuesday the banner is on it's way to Scotland for a huge Scottish meet!). The goodie bags and welcome packs will be handed out just before the convoy, and will have to be one per vehicle basis - however the entry tickets for the prize draw will be on a one per person basis.. tear the ticket in half, keeping one half, and putting the other half in the prize draw ticket box for Tony. What else?... Oh yes, in Brighton we will be looking for the largest free block of parking we can find - hopefully we will be OK as we will be before the main rush. The breakfast will be in The Madiera Harvester who have been good enough to agree to set a section aside for just us. We all need to order our choices of breakfast at the bar there, and get a number. They will then bring your food to you - hopefully within 10 minutes but the duty manager has said they may miss that figure due to the numbers involved, but he hopes not. The parking costs in Brighton went up last year, and are always higher in the summer months, so you are looking at £10 for 4 hours or £15 for 11 hours.. noting the meters can sometimes be a bit finnicky about taking money. The breakfast costs are from £2.99 adults, 99p children. I do have a few menu sheets I will hand out before the convoy to look through, but the latest available pricing and menus will be available in the restaurant for us. Finally, if anyone has Twitter please tweet as you go (so to speak lol) using #MayJagMeet, I will also be *trying* to do a live Twitter feed as I go - but am dubious if I will manage it with everything else going on. And finally, finally lol... I will get my pictures and synopsis up as soon as I can after the event, but my home life has taken a fair battering over the past few months whilst I have been pulling it all together so it may be a few days before I get a chance to get everything after the event up online.. so you may have to bear with me a little there. I hope you all have a great day on Sunday, I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone and their cars :-)
  7. We are set for what is to be the biggest Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy and Meet so far!! We have 68 cars, 110 people already signed up for this event and the forum threads have amassed almost 25,000 viewings to-date and we still have two days to go for any others to sign up to what is to be a guaranteed large, great, fantastic and free Jaguar day. Just look at what we have for the day: Cars from 1965 through to 2014 and 2015 attending, (from an E-type right through to the all new XE) Goodie bags and welcome packs (and a limited supply of Jaguar car posters), A huge 20% discount on Wax On Wax Off products for your car, A convoy to make a huge summer impression as we enter Madiera Drive, Unlimited breakfasts at a good price, A free prize draw for some great prizes for any Jaguar owner, supplied by SNG Barratt & the Guardian, Photo shoots, Socialising, Harwoods Jaguar & The Automatic Gearbox Centre onsite for all your questions, Checking out Jaguars new baby the XE, and being able to be one of the first to book a test drive courtesy of Harwoods Jaguar, A twitter feed (@JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet) with all the news until the day, A LIVE Twitter feed on the day of everything happening as it happens, All this plus the fantastic backdrop of the Brighton promenades, the sea lapping on the beaches in front of the meet, great local shopping, amusements, fish and chips and the list goes on... plus going by previous meets the best cars will likely all be in tourists photographs :-) So if you are already signed up you are set for a great day, and if not why not? There is nothing to lose.. your only costs are for parking (£10.00 for 4 hours will likely do) and your unlimited breakfast which currently is from £2.99 upwards!! So go on, why not sign up? Make it a petrolhead day for just you and your car, or a family day out for you and your family.. You can sign up by posting on this thread or by emailing me directly at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk, and if you have Twitter don't forget to follow us at @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet for all the news as the day approaches and on the day for live updates!
  8. Many thanks again Ron.. I think we are pretty much there - everything is in place. I just need to get all the bags put together Saturday night, make sure everything fits into the boot lol, ensure camera ready and have the meet banner with Sharpie. Anyone new signing up today I will be able to add to the lists, but anyone signing up on Saturday I can't guarantee adding but will try to get emails off to to them. Remembering that Saturday is going to be a day off for me :-) First one in about five months I think, thinking back :-) But meanwhile I am around all day today sorting last minute signups, trying to get us a little more attention via our Twitter feed, and trying to make sure everything in the forum threads is as current as I can get it.
  9. Am also having a last round of our Twitter contacts as well - because tomorrow I will need to concentrate on my home life prior to tomorrow nights activities getting ready for the day, and of course the event itself Sunday morning.. I will try to get the meet photo's up as quickly as I can after the event, but again I will be treading lightly at home so it may be a day or so before I finally get everything up for everyone.
  10. Tweeted the event to them and gave them a call leaving all the details on their answerphone along with contact details - you never know eh? :-)
  11. Just a reminder of our itenerary for the day: 08:15 Meet at Pease Pottage Service Station at the base of the M23. 08:20 Initial 'Welcome to the Event' greeting, and packs handed out. 08:30 Depart in convoy for Brighton (cruising speed 65mph) 09:00 Park up in one large parking block in Madiera Drive. 09:00-10:00 Big Breakfast in 'The Madiera' (b/fast from just £2.99) 10:00 General social events etc. Plus your chance to be one of thefirst to book that Jaguar XE test drive! and to chat with the industry attendees about any car issues you may have. 11:30 Group signings of banner, and group photos for the forums 11:45 Prize Draw for the SNG Barrett Goodies, the numbers to be drawn by Tony The parking is pay and display at this location and is £1 for an hour, £5 for two hours, £10 for four hours, or £15 for 11 hours (I would suggest for most people the £10 parking option will be sufficient). Your meal will be from £2.99 per person.. so hopefully no shocks or surprises if you are on a budget
  12. The next Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet will be happening on 24th May 2015 - Just TWO DAYS away now! This meet will be our fourth one, and we will have been running this event for two years now! For those who don't know, the event comprises of two components - an initial meet at Pease Pottage Services with Welcome packs and goodie bags handed out, and a convoy at a steady 65mph down to the main meet and event in Madiera Drive, Brighton. The distance is approx 24 miles on major roads which should ensure all attendees can manage it without issue. At the main meet in Brighton we have breakfasts (from £2.99), photo shoots, socialising, industry attendees there to answer all those questions you have never managed to get answered, a FREE prize draw for some SNG Barratt goodies, and more Jaguar goodies!! - and all with the backdrop of the Victorian promenades, and everything a family could possibly want on a day out with the Pier, the beaches, the sea gently rolling in, the Proms, and a huge local shopping centre. This year we are sandwiched in the middle of a month of MG, Mini, and Classic Car Meet days so I am sure our meet will raise a lot of interest... esp with not one but TWO brand new showroom XE's there, literally *just* delivered to Harwoods Brighton, in attendance on the day!! We are already listed as an official event with Brighton & Hove, & East Sussex Councils - and have worked on trying to get further advertising online and newspaper coverage. If you would like to attend this convoy and meet ( a guaranteed great day out for you, your family and your car) please put your name forward and I will be happy to add you in. You can put a post up on this thread if you wish to attend, or you can email me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk - either way I will happily add you in.. as usual I need to know if you wish to attend just the main meet, or the meet and the convoy, your car and year, and how many people will likely be travelling in the car.. We even have a NEW live Twitter feed for our event @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet - why not follow us and get all the latest updates, news and info directly to your phone or computer as it happens? The itinerary, parking, & breakfast costs are all listed in this thread, so there are no surprises for those of us on a budget - but the event itself as such is FREE and will remain so. Should you be without your car for any reason on the day please contact anyone below listed as having free seats - we look after our own and would still love you to be able to come! 13. OK, an update of the food front for the day: I have just got off the phone from the duty manager at The Madiera Harvester, which is where we are booked in for our breakfasts, and in view of the increase in numbers from the anticipated 50 or so, to 100 or so they will be opening a section up exclusively for us, rather than just a huge table.. On arrival everyone will need to go to the bar, and order their food etc and get a number. The food will then come to you - usually within ten minutes but they accept that they may be a little longer than that dealing with the number of us that are coming.
  14. Currently our forum threads have received almost 25,000 views, we have 68 Jaguars and 104 people signed up for the day, the weather forecast is great so far, we have welcome packs and goodie bags, a convoy, breakfasts at a reasonable cost, Harwoods Jaguar bringing not one but TWO XE's along and taking test drive bookings. We even have a free prize draw with five great Jaguar prizes! We are set for a fantastic Jaguar day - if you are not signed up yet, why not sign up now before the day and guarantee yourself a great day out.

  20. Just heard from Tony from Harwoods Jaguar and we will definately have TWO new showroom XE's attending on the day for you to look over!
  21. The next Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet will be happening on 24th May 2015 - Just FOUR DAYS away now! At the main meet in Brighton we have breakfasts (from £2.99), photo shoots, socialising, industry attendees there to answer all those questions you have never managed to get answered, a FREE prize draw for some SNG Barratt goodies, and more - and all with the backdrop of the Victorian promenades, and everything a family could possibly want on a day out with the Pier, the beaches, the sea gently rolling in, the Proms, and a huge local shopping centre. This year we are sandwiched in the middle of a month of MG, Mini, and Classic Car Meet days so I am sure our meet will raise a lot of interest... esp with one or two brand new showroom XE's there, literally *just* delivered to Harwoods Brighton, hopefully in attendance on the day!! We even have a NEW live Twitter feed for our event @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet - why not follow our updates, news and info as we go there? The itinerary, parking, & breakfast costs are all listed in this thread, so there are no surprises for those of us on a budget - but the event itself as such is FREE and will remain so. Should you be without your car for any reason on the day please contact anyone below listed as having free seats - we look after our own and would still love you to be able to come! If you haven't been before and would like to check up on some of our recent Bi-Annual Convoy and Meet events please have a look here: UK South East Meet December 2014 in Brighton or UK South East Meet Spring/Summer 2014 in Brighton Listed below are Car details plus occupants (inc driver) where we have the info...
