  1. Just a very brief update - 'The Guardian' has supplied some additional great prize draw prizes in addition to our SNG Barratt goodies - more details to follow.. Meanwhile many, many thanks to The Guardian for his help with the prizes I very much appreciate it :-)
  2. The next Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet will be happening on 24th May 2015 - Just FOUR DAYS away now! This meet will be our fourth one, and we will have been running this event for two years now! For those who don't know, the event comprises of two components - an initial meet at Pease Pottage Services with Welcome packs and goodie bags handed out, and a convoy at a steady 65mph down to the main meet and event in Madiera Drive, Brighton. The distance is approx 24 miles on major roads which should ensure all attendees can manage it without issue. At the main meet in Brighton we have breakfasts (from £2.99), photo shoots, socialising, industry attendees there to answer all those questions you have never managed to get answered, a FREE prize draw for some SNG Barratt goodies, and more - and all with the backdrop of the Victorian promenades, and everything a family could possibly want on a day out with the Pier, the beaches, the sea gently rolling in, the Proms, and a huge local shopping centre. This year we are sandwiched in the middle of a month of MG, Mini, and Classic Car Meet days so I am sure our meet will raise a lot of interest... esp with one or two brand new showroom XE's there, literally *just* delivered to Harwoods Brighton, hopefully in attendance on the day!! We are already listed as an official event with Brighton & Hove, & East Sussex Councils - and have worked on trying to get further advertising online and newspaper coverage. If you would like to attend this convoy and meet ( a guaranteed great day out for you, your family and your car) please put your name forward and I will be happy to add you in. You can put a post up on this thread if you wish to attend, or you can email me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk - either way I will happily add you in.. as usual I need to know if you wish to attend just the main meet, or the meet and the convoy, your car and year, and how many people will likely be travelling in the car.. We even have a NEW live Twitter feed for our event @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet - why not follow our updates, news and info as we go there? The itinerary, parking, & breakfast costs are all listed in this thread, so there are no surprises for those of us on a budget - but the event itself as such is FREE and will remain so. Should you be without your car for any reason on the day please contact anyone below listed as having free seats - we look after our own and would still love you to be able to come! 11. Hi Ron, I'm working my way through the weekends changes of attendee currently - Many thanks for the updates I will be adding them in this morning, and popping up the latest listing later today.. Within the limit above of about 100 vehicles, the more the merrier so to speak :-) I will try to at least get the Welcome Info packs to match how many come - no problems. Oh yes, I will also have some sponsorship news to pop up too today :-)
  12. Hi Guardian - we can hapilly manage a total of about 75 or so vehicles.. we can go above that and up to maybe 100 vehicles with the only problem being a shortage of freebies lol.. so it may be a case of first come first served.. there will be sufficient parking, and if we split the catering load between two or so cafes on Madiera Drive we can ensure everyone still gets a great fresh breakfast :-)
  13. I have located another possible sponsor and have been in contact with them to see if they will support our event. Should I manage to get any positive results I will of course let you guys know :-)
  14. We are set for what looks likely to be the biggest Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy and Meet so far!! We have 59 cars, 88 people already signed up for this event and the forum threads have amassed over 19,000 viewings to-date and we still have just over a week to go for any others to sign up to a guaranteed large & great Jaguar day. Just look at what we have for the day: Cars from 1965 through to 2014 and 2015 attending, (from an E-type right through to the all new XE) Goodie bags and welcome packs (and a limited supply of Jaguar car posters), A convoy to make a huge summer impression as we enter Madiera Drive, Unlimited breakfasts at a good price, A free prize draw for some great prizes for any Jaguar owner, supplied by SNG Barratt, Photo shoots, Socialising, Harwoods Jaguar & The Automatic Gearbox Centre onsite for all your questions, Checking out Jaguars new baby the XE, and being able to be one of the first to book a test drive courtesy of Harwoods Jaguar, A twitter feed (@JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet) with all the news until the day, A LIVE Twitter feed on the day of everything happening as it happens, All this plus the fantastic backdrop of the Brighton promenades, the sea lapping on the beaches in front of the meet, great local shopping, amusements, fish and chips and the list goes on... plus going by previous meets the best cars will likely all be in tourists photographs :-) So if you are already signed up you are set for a great day, and if not why not? There is nothing to lose.. your only costs are for parking (£10.00 for 4 hours will likely do) and your unlimited breakfast which currently is from £2.99 upwards!! So go on, why not sign up? Make it a petrolhead day for just you and your car, or a family day out for you and your family.. You can sign up by posting on this thread or by emailing me directly at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk, and if you have Twitter don't forget to follow us at @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet for all the news as the day approaches and on the day for live updates!
  15. Just a reminder of our itenerary for the day: 08:15 Meet at Pease Pottage Service Station at the base of the M23. 08:20 Initial 'Welcome to the Event' greeting, and packs handed out. 08:30 Depart in convoy for Brighton (cruising speed 65mph) 09:00 Park up in one large parking block in Madiera Drive. 09:00-10:00 Big Breakfast in 'The Madiera' (b/fast from just £2.99) 10:00 General social events etc. Plus your chance to be one of the first to book that Jaguar XE test drive! and to chat with the industry attendees about any car issues you may have. 11:30 Group signings of banner, and group photos for the forums 11:45 Prize Draw for the SNG Barrett Goodies, the numbers to be drawn by Tony The parking is pay and display at this location and is £1 for an hour, £5 for two hours, £10 for four hours, or £15 for 11 hours (I would suggest for most people the £10 parking option will be sufficient). Your meal will be from £2.99 per person.. so hopefully no shocks or surprises if you are on a budget
  16. The next Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet will be happening on 24th May 2015 - Just over ONE week away now! OK, the final things are starting to fall into place: Your prize draw tickets are printed up - you will find one in your Welcome pack.. just tear off the right hand side of the ticket on the day and pop it into the Prize draw ticket box and you will be in the draw, noting you will need to be around when Tony performs the draw later in the day, in order to win.. Noting if you are not around when Tony draws your number he will then draw another ticket... until we find a winner! *But* a £25 voucher will go a long way towards your next Jaguar parts purchase, or a gorgeous branded umbrella that will keep the rain away, so it is well worthwhile making sure you are there when the draw takes place. Meanwhile I have just started off some heavy advertising with our Twitter account to see if we can raise some more interest in our event.. I only have two more jobs to do as such - one is to remind The Madiera Harvester we are coming and the other is to assemble all our Welcome Packs.. and keep working on the odd jobs on my new 1998 XJ8 to get it as ready as I can for the day :-)
  24. Just a quick update to let you know that in addition to the Welcome Packs and Goodie bags we now have a limited supply of Jaguar car posters which will be available on the day on a first come first served basis! This again is in addition to the free prize draw for £25 gift voucher and a great branded umbrella very kindly donated by SNG Barratt, Harwoods Jaguar are bringing along an XE for you to check out, and be amongst the first to book a test drive in it! We have cheap unlimited breakfasts from 99p for children and £2.99 for adults, PLUS all the social events including a huge convoy into Brighton, meeting all those people you know online, exchanging ideas, fixes, and catching up with forum activities, photo shoots prior to the convoy and towards the end of the meet for our sponsors *and* for the forum threads.. We will be using the Twitter hashtag #MayJagMeet up to the event with the latest info, and on the day trying to keep a live feed going there, as we go. You can always follow us at @JFBrightonMeets Currently we have 59 cars and 87 people coming along so if you are not yet signed up, or are just undecided why not pop a post on here or email me directly at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk and join in this great free Jaguar event!
  25. The Automatic Gearbox Centre has just confirmed that Kevin will definately be with us on the day, for all your transmission questions :-)
