  1. Welcome to the convoy & meet - I will add you to the list of attendees, and look forward to meeting you on the day.. don't forget to keep an eye on the thread here, or our twitter feeed #MayJagMeet for the latest info as we approach the day itself..
  2. Remembering that maths is not my strong point :-) We currently have the following Jaguar models coming along (noting it would be fantastic if anyone with a model not yet listed could come along and help fill in the gaps): X-Type (12), XKR (9), S-Type (6), S-Type R (6), XF (4), XK8 (3), XJ (3), XK (2), XJR (2), XJS (1), XFR (1), and the Mk2 (1)
  3. Just to let you know that the Twitter feed has been bringing in quite a bit of thread traffic as a result of me contacting a number of industry contacts - I will let you know what, if anything :-), comes of it
  4. The next Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet will be happening on 24th May 2015 - Just over FIVE weeks away now! This meet will be our fourth one, and we will have been running this event for two years now! This Spring/Summer event is Jaguar exclusive, but if you have a car of another marque don't worry - the Winter event will again be open to all marques with a warm Jaguar welcome for everyone. For those who don't know, the event comprises of two components - an initial meet at Pease Pottage Services with Welcome packs and goodie bags handed out, and a convoy at a steady 65mph down to the main meet and event in Madiera Drive, Brighton. The distance is approx 24 miles on major roads which should ensure all attendees can manage it without issue. At the main meet in Brighton we have breakfasts (from £2.99), photo shoots, socialising, industry attendees there to answer all those questions you have never managed to get answered, a FREE prize draw for some SNG Barrett goodies, and more - and all with the backdrop of the Victorian promenades, and everything a family could possibly want on a day out with the Pier, the beaches, the sea gently rolling in, the Proms, and a huge local shopping centre. This year we are sandwiched in the middle of a month of MG, Mini, and Classic Car Meet days so I am sure our meet will raise a lot of interest... esp with one or two brand new showroom XE's there, literally *just* delivered to Harwoods Brighton, hopefully in attendance on the day!! We are already listed as an official event with Brighton & Hove, & East Sussex Councils - and I am working on trying to get further advertising and newspaper coverage in place if I can,, If you would like to attend this convoy and meet ( a guaranteed great day out for you, your family and your car) please put your name forward and I will be happy to add you in. You can put a post up on this thread if you wish to attend, or you can email me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk - either way I will happily add you in.. as usual I need to know if you wish to attend just the main meet, or the meet and the convoy, your car and year, and how many people will likely be travelling in the car.. We even have a NEW live Twitter feed for our event @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet - why not follow our updates, news and info as we go there? The itinerary, parking, & breakfast costs are all listed in this thread, so there are no surprises for those of us on a budget - but the event itself as such is FREE and will remain so. If you haven't been before and would like to check up on some of our recent Bi-Annual Convoy and Meet events please have a look here: UK South East Meet December 2014 in Brighton or UK South East Meet Spring/Summer 2014 in Brighton Listed below are Car details plus occupants (inc driver) where we have the info... 5. Just checked the long range weather forecast and the theory goes that we should have sunshine and 17 degrees on the day - perfect for those of you with convertibles :-)
  6. Time for a summary... This all happens on the 24th May 2015, with an early start at Pease Pottage Services on the day at 8:15am before the convoy sets off for Brighton at a steady 65mph making a huge visual impact as we all pull up and park in Madiera Drive. In Brighton we have unlimited breakfasts from just £2.99 for adults, and 99p for children followed by the social events including viewing the new Jaguar XE (even able to be amongst the first to book a test drive in one), asking any questions you may have of Harwoods Jaguar and The Automatic Gearbox Company, a FREE Prize Draw for Jaguar related goodies, photo shoots which will appear on the Jaguar Forums, plus the highly anticipated Welcome Packs packed with info and some goodies for you.. All this PLUS the sea in front of you, the victorian promenades behind you, a huge city shopping centre in easy walking distance, the Pier, Fish & Chips.... All for the cost of the parking, and your breakfast... So if you are not already signed up for this great day, why not? Just pop a post on here or email me directly at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk - you will be made very welcome.
  7. I am working on the info sheets that you will get in your welcome packs currently.. I am hoping to have dashboard sheets (so we know whose car is who's - yes I know awful grammar lol), info on the next meet which will be in December), the itinerary, breakfast menu options/pricing sheets, in addition to the goodies and info from our kind sponsors, and of course your prize draw entry ticket.. The event and the prize draw are both free, your only costs on the day being your unlimited breakfast, and the parking.. Meanwhile our Twitter feed is starting to take off - we have a Twitter account of @JFBrightonMeets and for the may event news we are using the hashtag #MayJagMeet - please feel free to follow our account, and keep up to the minute with the event and our preparations, news and info.
  8. OK, a little bit of an update - we are now also listed with DriveAddiction.com which carries listings of car events around the UK and we are now listed alongside some very big regular events :-) I have been in touch with Harwoods Jaguar, and our other sponsors and am hoping that there will be enough welcome packs for everyone, rather than per car, which didn't quite work for everyone at the last meet.. the twitter feed is already starting to pick up followers too, which is great :-)

  10. Just for your info: The days itinerary is listed below for your info, so you know when you need to be where... 08:15 Meet at Pease Pottage Service Station at the base of the M23. 08:20 Initial 'Welcome to the Event' greeting, and packs handed out. 08:30 Depart in convoy for Brighton (cruising speed 65mph) 09:00 Park up in one large parking block in Madiera Drive. 09:00-10:00 Big Breakfast in 'The Madiera' (b/fast from just £2.99) 10:00 General social events etc. Plus your chance to be one of the first to book that Jaguar XE test drive! and to chat with the industry attendees about any car issues you may have. 11:30 Group signings of banner, and group photos for the forums 11:45 Prize Draw for the SNG Barrett Goodies, the numbers to be drawn by Tony The parking is pay and display at this location and is £1 for an hour, £5 for two hours, £10 for four hours, or £15 for 11 hours (I would suggest for most people the £10 parking option will be sufficient). Your meal will be from £2.99 per person.. so hopefully no shocks or surprises if you are on a budget
  11. OK, I have had a little play and the Twitter feed @JFBrightonMeets is definately up and running.. so you can keep tabs on the thread here, or any of the other mirrors of this thread, or by following it on Twitter... so which ever way you prefer you can keep up to date with the latest news, info, developments, and changes to our Bi-Annual Meet :-)
  12. OK I have taken what I think is a middle path and have set up a twitter feed for those of you who want to keep up with our bi-annual meets by twitter.. I am still figuring out how to use it correctly but the address is @JFBrightonMeets please feel free to follow there and keep up to date with things
  13. Hi Ron, I am not on facebook, so no I haven't - maybe its just me being old school but have shied away from it :-) but maybe it is a good idea.... Should anyone out there want to list our event there, in a controlled manner :-) please let me know by email or pm or just posting on the thread...
  14. OK I have run round our advertisers, freshening or bumping up our event advertising where I can (remembering we have no budget lol) and can confirm we are currently advertising our event with: VisitBrighton - The Official Brighton & Hove tourist website, East Sussex County Councils' events website, East Grinstead Courier, Crawley News, Friday-Ad, Gumtree. There are other locations that we have requested advertising but can't confirm they are or if they are actively advertising us..
  15. OK just heard from Vanessa Weild in the Brighton & Hove Highway Events team - and she has double confirmed that Madiera Drive is available for us on the day - so that's one thing ticked, just need to work on the rest now :-)
  16. OK - a little bit of an update for you - this is the quiet patch before the last three weeks or so before the meet, which will be when I try hard to pull everything into place, confirmed and concreted for the day.. I have still had no feedback from the Highway Events Team at Brighton & Hove Council double confirming that we are OK for the location - I have recontacted them today to rechase for this, and will let you know as soon as I hear from them. Everything *is* pretty much in the bag, I am just getting things double confirmed with our sponsors etc as we near the date... (yes I get twitchy every meet that something will go wrong lol) We have almost hit that magic 50 vehicle figure which is fantastic, & I really appreciate everyones interest in this event, and coming along to help make the day great for everyone. I would say realistically we are getting close to the limit of vehicles we can handle for this years spring/summer event so if anyone is considering coming along but is still undecided please put your name forward shortly or you may get to miss this event and have to wait for the winter one :-) Looking at the viewing figures for the master thread and the three mirror threads we have running for this event we have had a phenomenal 11,190 hits to-date!! Nothing else to report I am afraid - for a few weeks anyway.. meanwhile please just keep an eye on this thread as anything in the way of confirmations, news, or updates will appear here as we go
