  1. Thanks Mykoolo, I had planned to have a look at it this weekend, hopefully thats all it is. William
  2. Si, I am sorry to hear your troubles. I will say that, had you asked on here, you most likely would have saved a lot of money, the members here have a fix for the heater valve issue, as well as the suspension, by sourcing the parts ( I am guessing bushings) I myself have experienced the stuck in park issue, but thanks to advice on this great forum I have been able to sort. I am sorry I do not know how to link to other threads, but search "Gear lever stuck in park" Even if you go ahead and sell, it would be better if it could drive. I know you are disillusioned at the moment, but take my word for it, there is little that goes wrong with this car, the members here cannot sort for a reasonable outlay. William
  3. This is one thing which really makes my blood boil.I park at the furthers part of car park. I try to get an end spot, but if not available I will take 2 spaces. My car is a XJ long wheel base and does not fit normal sized bays. Often on return (which is never long, as I hate leaving my car unattended ) I find some idiot has not left me enough room to get into my car. If I had seen someone do this to anyone's car, There would be hell to pay. We should start a movement. William
  4. Steve, I like others on here, are curious as to the causes of your problems, have you any update?
  5. Hi Guys, I am new to the forum, if this has been discussed before forgive me. Yesterday,,when I tried to engage drive to move away, the Lever refused to budge from park. I tried various, like turning the engine off and on again, stamping on brake pedal, revving the engine, after about 5 minites it responded as normal, and remained normal over a number of stops / starts. This morning it was ok, but when I stopped after an hour or so,when I tried to start again I had the same problem and again it responded after about 5 minites. If it makes any difference, I have XJ. V8 4.2 Sovereign thanks bilmac
  6. Steve, I am worried that perhaps you have something wrong with your braking system, this is serious and should be inspected immediately. Bring it to the nearest Garage A.S.A.P. It does not have to be a main dealer, any one will do. What you want them to tell you, is there is nothing wrong with any safety systems and its ok to drive the car. Please it won't cost much and will give you (and us ) peace of mind. bilmac
  7. Don't know which I had but it was very good, and I have a XJ 4.2 petrol and a Lexus Ls so used to power.
  8. Agree the XF looks better from behind. I had a loaner for a week last year and was impressed with everything driving, looks and toys. and, it was diesel. I think you would not be disappointed.
  9. Yes I will concede it is a beautiful colour, I would be happy to own and drive it. bilmac
  10. Now I know you are taking the p**s. I love my brown steering wheel, anyway your X is only half my XJ. Been ancient I must have, but dont remember ever seeing a white Jaguar, by the way I also have an zircon blue 3.0 V6 XJ. So Colour is from I to 10 Number 1 British Racing Green, Number 2 Zircon Blue, and then ultramarine, ( see what I done there)
  11. OK,Well apology accepted, :P I will concede Ultraviolet is a good colour. as is the red, and the black, and the grey, and the gold. and the silver,(sorry if I missed your one) In fact I would like to have one in all the colours. I remember seeing a programme where some Arab prince said he had an AMG mercedes in the colours of the rainbow, I thought that car would look rubbish. but he had the same car, one in each colour, O to be rich. I traveled to the Uk for my car, because the photos were stunning, by the time I paid VRT, it cost as much as a black one up the road from me, in as good if not better condition, just shows, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  12. :) ;) :D A reasonable guy would say. " Colour is a personal choice" I however know better, British Racing Green is the best colour. So there, Young whippersnapper. (not quite sure which smiley) but you get the idea.
  13. No Trevor,Sellers name is Louis Grey, a nice guy, It will be going on his new car ( E350 Mercedes). Ireland do not have personalized plates. I will be issued a new number starting 05 D 120. The 05 to signify model year, D means reregistered in Dublin and the 120 marks it as an UK import. if 2000 cars already imported this year I will get 05 D 1202001
  14. So Hello everyone, I just got a 2005 model 4.2 Sovereign in BRG very nice indeed. I need to change the wiper blades what are the best for my model. thanks bilmac
