From the album: My Jaguar S-Type
My Jaguar started having problems when it got to 40-45mph. So I decided to check and change the transmission oil. I changed the gasket the filter as well as new oil. Didn't expect to find the oil that bad. Now she purrs in all gears. Sweet -
Hi Guys I'm stuck, I've dropped the transmission oil and I only got 4 litres of black tar out, but the nice man at Jaguar Warrington said I will need 9 litres to fill her back up. Its not that its cheap, £22.60 a litre. I've ordered new filter, gasket and oil, but I really don't know how much to fill her back up. I know how to fill and check her level of oil. just wondering if nice man from jaguar was having a laugh. I'm working on the 2000 X Reg S Type 3.0 litre V6. Cant find any help on the net about amounts of oil, but 9 litres seem a bit much. If she needs it she needs it. I'm not going cheap on her, could always sell a kidney or my first born. So if any one can help me please shout back or PM me as I'm going in the morning to buy the parts. Cheers Karl only joking about the selling of a kidney, the first born is still up for offers....

I just bought this 1966 AA badge from an online auction site for a few quid and was wondering if any other members had any or similar car badges. This is a photo from the auction site so I'll need to upload my photo with it on my Jaguar as soon as I get it fixed in place. Cheers Karl -

Sorry about all the rugby matches you've lost, it's a long drive home, but the bright side is you went home in style. You can probably tell that I'm a Wigan fan. Cheers Karl

Hi Guys Today I've been out giving my baby a good polish and removing some stickers that the last owner thought looked cool and under one off them was a hole, yep a !Removed! hole. I only got her this week hence me taking the stickers off. Its in the chrome/ plastic trim that goes on the bumper, Drivers side front. So if anyone knows or got one please gives us a shout back, If you know off a good breakers yard in the northwest area that would do as well. The car is a S Type 3.0 on a 2000 plate. I would be grateful for any help at all. Cheers Karl.

That's just wrong. I go crazy when the birds leave droppings all over the paint work. I'm going to stop feeding the little bleeders or feed them some lead shot. Only joking Green Peace.... -
Barn find Jaguar E-Type restored to 1962 glory
Karl Jones replied to Jaguar Owners Club's topic in Jaguar Classic Club
Hi Guys First of all well done. I'm really made up for you guys. I love to read and watch when an old lady gets a second chance. It amazing the amount of hours you guys have put in so far and I wish you all the best for the oncoming weeks ahead. Would really like to see her when she's all done. I'm glad to see Ralph is getting stuck in because I know what a life changing accident or illness can do to a person. I had an accident back in 2007and my life will never be the same, that's not to say I don't get 110% out of every day. It just means I do it a little slower. Take care and I look forward to more photo's. -
Hi Guys Got some new info from a mate in the trade, when my car gets to 15 years old its called a classic. That's it. no free tax. its only when a vehicle is 30 years old then it becomes vintage. that's when you can apply for the free road tax. So any vehicle registered before 1974 can claim free road tax. The only good thing for me is next year I can get classic car insurance, because if the owner/driver is over 25 and the car is 15 years or older with limited mileage then I can get cheaper car insurance. Happy Days.

I've been looking on the internet about when to call your car a classic. Most people say its 15 years but some people say 12 years and 25 years. Also when you ask insurance companies they say its 12 years old, but it depends on which company you ask. They big question is when do you get cheaper insurance and also when can you get free road tax. If anyone has come across these question before or own a classic Jaguar, please give us a shout back. Cheers

Thanks for the advice. Could only get her taxed today, as I was waiting for my insurance certificate. so I've just took her for a run out and OMG. What a drive. I forgot what's it like to drive a Jaguar. Its got so much more then most cars and some. Anyway I'm off to polish her again. Thanks

Hi All Just bought a S Type 3.0 ltr on a 2000 plate. just wondering which fuel would be the best to use. Unleaded or Premium unleaded. I cant ask the owner as he died, the reason I bought the car, his widow doesn't know. Didn't want to put extra wear on the engine. Also what are the benefits of using the good stuff?

From the album: My Jaguar S-Type
Hi All This photo is the day I picked her up, first port of call was at my fathers. He fell in love with her as well. She been really looked after. 14 years old and there's not a scratch on her body work. All that's needed is all the leather work to be cleaned then a good conditioner going on, well that's a job for tomorrow.
