  1. Hi all. My 2005 X350 has suddenly decided that it doesn't know where it is. The sat nav map is showing it to be somewhere completely different and directions don't make sense. I've tried the usual stuff like reloading the disk but to no avail. I know that the system is almost obsolete now and the latest update was about 2012 but it's still handy to have. Any advice most welcome Pete
  2. I had the same problem with my X350 after changing the rear brake pads. It turned out to be the battery, which was about 5 years old and showed no signs of failing up till then. Good luck
  3. The ASL button has never worked on my X350 in the 6 years that I've owned the car. I was told once that not all of them have this feature but some had the button even though the device itself wasn't fitted, which seems a bit odd. The cruise works as it should but ASL is completely dead and the led doesn't light up. Any thoughts or ideas welcome. I've seen a module mentioned in the manual but no idea where it is. Thanks Pete
  4. I did the headlining in my X350 a couple of years ago. The kit which consisted of material and glue cost about £80. I removed the polystyrene biscuit as its called and took it to an Upholsterer for him to fit the material (another £100 and something) A big but enjoyable job to remove and replace but I could see the glueing bit ending in tears so I left it to a professional. The recommended way is to remove the windscreen but it can be bent and removed through the back door opening. This was on an XJ X350 but I would think the Xtype would be similar. No problems since. Good luck
  5. Now I know what it's like to stop a conversation stone dead. 😮‍💨 Tears.
