  1. Hi Colin Cant help with an answer im afraid but here will help . they are brilliant . hope it helps. http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/forum.php
  2. IT IS NOT A WARNING LIGHT. It is called an ambiance light in the broccure. I havnt got a clue where old peters coming from. All warning lights are on your dashboard. Check with a Jaguar dealer and the jaguarforum.co.uk forum where this issue has been covered many times.
  3. Not a problem. Glad I could help. Dave
  4. Hi Believe it or not it is purely there for asthetic reasons. It is supposed to shine down on the console area and give it an executive "glow". I only found out about myself from the sales broccure that I have for my 2006 year model so no nasty worries , just a nice little light. Cover it up at night and see, it actually does make a difference. Dave
  5. I use it at around the same as you. I had the cruise problem when I drove to Germany and reported it to my dealer when I came home. Apparently they have had several such enquiries. Dave
  6. I had a pen stuck in my track stopping the seat moving all the way back . there are 4 plastic covers over the seat removal bolts. you can easitty see them if you look on the 4 corners. Then after removal of the covers it is a straightforward bolt removal for each corner. Dave
  7. Cruise is not designed to operate at speeds in excess of 80MPH. That is why you are geting the message. Dave
  8. Give Dave at Eurojag a ring. Best in the UK and Europe for used Jaguar S Type parts and have huge stocks of early and late parts. Ask for Dave and say Dave Pretty told you to telephone him . He will give you all the help you need and also probably have a good engine as well at a very good price if you say I put you onto him plus dont be afraid to haggle and ask for the best he has gt , I always do !!! . These guys only deal in Jags are very switched on and have been around for donkeys. The best by far and very reasonably priced for antrhing you need. His number is 01325 722777 and I now he wil help you. Good luck. Dave
  9. Hello Colin. I am so pleased that you resisted and challenged the main dealers reluctance to change the oil and reprogram the ECU as many people walk away at that point and end up needing a new gearbox. I hope perhaps they learnt something and I am so pleased for you. It is surprising what a huge difference it can make. Good for you for sticking to your guns. Dave
  10. If you have an S Type with power-fold wing mirrors already fitted to your car and would like them to open and close automatically with your key-fob then I now have a solution for you. Double push the lock button on your key-fob and they fold close, press to unlock the vehicle and the mirrors unfold. No more swearing half way down the road or going back to the car at the car park as you forgot to fold them in. All controlled by a small black box that snuggles in nicely just behind the wiring harness connector block behind the drivers door card. The fitting procedure for the unit is very straightforward indeed and takes around half hour. Firstly the drivers door card needs to be removed. Once removed you need to splice in just 5 wires that's all and they are all located just behind the door card and are all very easy to access. Nestle the small brain in as described above. Door card back on and all finished. You can still use the manual button if you want and can also fit a simple on/off switch if you feel that you would need to turn the system off for any reason so its a very versatile unit. Brilliant little box and a great design. Price is forty quid plus a fiver for postage. Great little mod. Just PM me if you are interested. VIDEO HERE .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rmp2233dL4

  11. No , they definately dont. Ive also been in contact with Haynes and they have no plans to release one either. Stpid really as they have one for the X Type.
  12. I had the self same disgussion with one Jaguar dealer who said it was a lifetime box. After a letter to the gearbox manufacturers ZF and Jaguar UK this is rubbish and will end up costing you thousands if left as you will end up needing a new gearbox. It MUST be changed between 65 and 75 k without fail.
  13. I would hope not Colin. In the early days there were plenty of gearbox noises and problems they managed to sort mainly with re programming the ecu box for the gearbox. I have just had a transmision oil and filter change and the software upgrading at 70K and it feels like a brand new car .Im sure it will be a simple fix and wish you all the best. Dave
  14. I dont have this on my 2006. Could be your transmission oil needs changing and the gearbox ecu remapping as I know that there have been several upgrades to the ecu for stmptoms like yours. Suggest a main dealer phone call.
  15. I would certainly check my battery voltage first of all. Even a sloghtly weak battery will cause a myriad of faults like this and it certainly would be the very first place that I would start.
