Folks, My 'new' 1993 facelift XJS 4.0 has an intermittent problem with the electric seat adjustment. Every now and again, the driver's seat motors it's way back for some reason... ...and now, the seat adjust buttons don't work to bring the seat forwards again... ...and also (!) I found that the seat motor kept trying to engage ("click clunk, click clunk...") all the time, draining the battery. Apart from that, it's fine! Any thoughts on what may be amiss? I found an old quote from a previous owner, for a garage to investigate a similar problem. They were suggesting stripping back the door panel to check the seat adjust buttons for moisture - the fact it's still doing this suggests it wasn't entirely successful.

Hi there, I think the XJS was born classic! Nothing else before or since looks anything like it, and it was the iconic Jaguar shape throughout my formative years. Have just bought a 4.0 facelift model and it's still like no other car from the inside. Somehow old and contemporary at the same time, like being in a Spitfire cockpit (the plane, not the car!)

Hi, Wondered if you had found a good source for the celebration suspension bushes (assuming you replaced them)? My '93 XJS has just failed MoT on worn bushes and I'm looking for new or upgraded ones.

Howdy! Have just found the forum, after buying a splendid looking '93 XJS. I say splendid looking, as it needs a little TLC under the covers. First problem is getting it through MoT. I have worn suspension bushes (ooh er, missus), and need to find replacements - any good sources out there? And has anyone ventured into / found polyurethane bushes as a mild handling improvement? Any sage advice, gratefully received,
