  1. lol, that's the glass half full thinking that I love Mike
  2. Perish the thought Trevor, I love her to bits and going to keep her tip top for as long as I can. :)
  3. Collected the car last night, full under carriage inspection and waxoyled. No problems reported. New front brake pads fitted to boot.Considering myself extremely lucky considering what Brian and Keith have got to contend with.
  4. Nope nor mine, however a little gander into my downloaded version of the owners manual, thanks Peter, does state in section 3-22 that it is an 'option'. So, no rear blinds, no power folding mirrors, no sat nav (touch screen or otherwise), no memory seating, no steering wheel radio controls, no cruise control etc, etc. I think whoever ordered mine new had a grand total of £3.50's worth of extras fitted But I love her!
  5. Graham, can't fault you. if I could afford either I'd consider myself a very lucky man. Good luck hunting bud.
  6. Cheers Peter, I'll give it a go at home time. (hope I don't get told off for talking off post topic again).
  7. Hi all, I have electric adjustment on my wing mirrors but no 'fold in' option.
  8. That's a spot of good luck on the S Type Graham. mmmmmm XF's
  9. I sometimes think that dealerships don't want the hassle of dealing with repairs on cars they haven't supplied therefore raising their prices to astronomical levels to deflect potential customers. Servicing supplied cars is all they want, they can afford to set on a YTS lad to do that and make a tidy profit. 'Disclaimer' ; Again only my opinion and is solely based on my experiences, other opinions are available.
  10. Nope, same model, no sun blind. The range of optional extras must have been quite staggering. I wonder how much a 3.0L S Type Sport would have been with all the optional extras added in 2003, and does such a beast exist I wonder?
  11. You cant beat a bit of Frank to end the evening, apart from Dino

  12. Got the windmill going full cotter!

  13. Its ok Stan, no offence taken bud, I wasn't being like anything just apologising for !Removed! up you thread dude. :)
  14. Yes Peter, I've noticed that too. It seems to measure the cabin temperature then make its own mind up what its going to do to get to the selected temperature on the climate control. I've noticed that if its really hot outside and you select a temp of around the 20deg mark or lower, it kicks the auto mode in, the cabin air recycle mode button lights up and the blowers kick in at full chatter for a few minutes. I had a Fiat Stilo Abarth with the 'flappy paddles all singing all dancing model' and you had to set everything manually each time for different conditions, me S Type does it all for you. Marvellous!! :D
  15. That's good to know that we of the Ford owned era are welcomed because purists can be a little weird about things like that.
  16. Probably so Graham, but just think of all the fun you'll have 'kicking tyres' for the weeks to come! :D
  17. Getting mine inspected and oil sprayed next Monday, will report back as to the condition. A little worried now!
  18. Having bought this 3.0L S Type Sport and enjoying it tremendously, I must admit that my head is beginning to turn to the S Type R as my next motor. But then again Graham prices are beginning to come down on the XF range, perhaps an XFS, oooooo, you've got some thinking to do bud.
  19. Yes, good info thanks
  20. Glad to hear you have it fixed.
  21. Hi Mike, the three way valve, how did it fail and why? is it a solenoid type?
  22. sorry guys, got a little carried away, I'll keep my experiences to myself in the future guys, sorry again.
  23. Time for one last tune, my choice. Reef, Put Your Hands On. Quite apt really, night all

  24. What's that Norah? 'You don't know why you didn't come', tsk, far from me to mention it but you might be with the wrong geezer luv! Just my opinion, other opinions are available.

  25. I am having the underneath inspected as I've asked a local garage near my works to carry out an oil spray, because about 18 months ago I bought an 03 X Type (the green one in my gallery pics), and was surprised at the MOT when the verdict came that it needed new sills fitting. When I bought it there was nothing at all on the advisory section of the last MOT. On inspection they weren't just slightly corroded or holed, they were non existent in places, so I'm being a bit more careful this time and having it inspected prior to the next MOT. I was quoted £1200 to replace both sills on the X Type!! Needless to say, I didn't take up that offer, I made some sectional ones at work and took them the garage up the road and they cleaned the car up and welded them on, passed MOT £400 total cost, car now sold, job done!
